Setting Up the AliveCor KardiaMobile EKG Recorder

- UPDATE: June 2023: The replacement unit worked for about two months. I contacted AliveCor and they told me that the unit is not compatible with my TMobile cell phone. They sent me a return label and when they received it they processed a refund for me. I'm going to have to find another way to monitor my heart.
My cardiologist reports that the readings are good and my heart is doing well. I ran an EKG while I was on the treadmill and the cardiologist said that looked good too.
The problem is my irregular heart beats last only a second or too. Too short for my readings to record on the EKG recorder but the cardiologist says that's a good thing.
UPDATE: 5/20/22: I finally reached AliveCor customer service through their telephone line.
They ran some diagnostics with me and determined that the unit was bad. They sent me a replacement unit and it is working very well!
UPDATE: 2/3/22. The battery died two weeks ago. I replaced the battery and the unit has power. Unfortunately I keep getting an error message that the EKG cannot be recorded because of interference. I tried using the unit in a quiet room, away from radio interference and away from my laptop but it still won't give me a clean EKG recording. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
I thought I was going to die of old age before I got through this video..... lol
Yeah, my videos are geared to old geezers like me!
I did get mine to work and it did well . I will be showing this to my cardiologist
My battery just died. I'm waiting for a replacement. You should be able to email the results to your cardiologist.
Thank you for the effort in making this video, but it can be 10 minutes shorter.
Turn your phone sideways. Then you must set your fingers on the electrodes, and once the device turns GREEN, it means your fingers ARE ALIGNED. IF IT DOES NOT TURN GREEN, THEN YOUR FINGERS ARE NOT ON THE DEVICE PROPERLY. When it doesn't turn green, just move your fingers until it turns green, and then the countdown will start.
They need to put on the box monthly subscription is mandatory. I wouldn't have gotten it if I knew it. Taking it back to Walmart for refund
I never had a subscription. I merely save the report and email it to my cardiologist. I think there is a premium function that costs extra but I haven't explored it.
it shows in the menu trying to tell you to get the plans but if you skip it you dont need to pay and you can just show it to your doctor or cardiologist
It's NOT mandatory
I can't find a way to change the graph view to a horizontal or landscape view .
Is there a way? It is how it's shown on the box.
Mine is the same. It always stays in portrait view. That doesn't bother me nor my doctor. I don't know how to change it. Did you contact customer support at Kardia?
Do you know if the kardia use a light against your finger with a photo detector to measure the light on the finger
No, it's not a light. There are two metallic touch pads.
Hi, my dad recently got this and he said he’s having difficulty getting the results to his doctor, as they can’t receive that information due to him having entered a personal password. Did you have that problem? Also, did you have to put in a password?
I never set up a password. When it used to work, I would have the report sent to me as a pdf, I believe. Then I would email it to my doctor. I hope you can get some support from KardiaMobile but I can't find any way to contact them.
Cuanto tiempo de vida tiene el aparato? O si se le puede reemplazar la pila
La batería es reemplazable y dura aproximadamente un año. ¡Gracias por vernos!
are all the graphs measured the same with the app just diagnosing the display your getting? My wife has atrial flutter. I was told the kardia will not detect it but as long as it displays it my Doctor can look at it.
That's too technical for me. Please ask your doctor.
@@davidgpo What I was getting at , is the device sensitive enough to capture atrial flutter? The app software will not tell you atrial flutter like it would if it was measuring Afib . atrial flutter is not on the list to tell you what was measured it but that doesn't mean if you know what to look for it will be in the recorded screen chart. I heard it displays atrial flutter but calls it "unknown"
The EKG will probably show aflutter if one can read the results. Like all EKGs it will automatically show afib in print. If no such notice, you're in sinus. That's all I got mine for.
@@geraldmahle9833 Fortunately my WIfe after having Ablation for Atrial Flutter has been in Sinus Rhythm since. Atrial Flutter shows a fast continuous ripple pattern in between the main pulse. If the detector can't capture it you would never know. Everything else looks normal except for the ripple in between. I called the MFG but I could not get a direct answer out of them other than the device would not tell you Atrial Flutter. I just wanted to know if it would display it. Then I could forward to her Doctor.
Do you need to open and pay for an account before device is recognized?
There are no added fees nor subscriptions.
Any hints on how to change my Kardiamobile password??
I suggest you contact customer service for a password reset.
@@davidgpo Thank you.
Poor video…… not sure about how it works. He is learning as he is talking.
You must be new here.
Changed battery twice per directions. Can't get it to do anything. All it does is play the fucked up music.
Mine never played music but customer service replaced the unit.
The other video the man put it in back of the phone maybe that how it supposed to work
I've tried all positions with the original unit and nothing worked. The replacement unit is working fine.
"No, I didn't switch teams"????? Come on!
No kidding. I agree
No thanks going back
mine too
I could never get mine to work. Put new battery in. Nothing. Piece of crap. Through it away
You should have contacted the company, they would have sent you a replacement.
Try to remove your phone from the case , it’s happened with me ,,, same case don’t let it work ,,
The second unit worked for a couple of months and then would not record a reading. I complained to the company and they told me that it is not compatible with my TMobile phone and I should send it back for a refund.
@@davidgpo that’s good if you get back your money ,, I bought 5 years ago , and just changed the case of the phone ,, I didn’t know about case can cause problems,I wrote to them ,and they answered , I read it at find may case cause the problem,, I taken out a phone from the case and started working ,perfectly,, 😁
@@davidgpo The online ad I ordered from had a listing of all the phones it should work with.
We busted out laughing so hard with gender selection. You realize someone from the other class is working on a lawsuit for not including them.
Ha Ha! Thanks for watching!
Too much artifact
You do have to use blue tooth to get the data to your smart phone.
Horrible
