hello there, thumbs up for your upload. I am a hydraulics trainer in Caterpillar and i have actually subscribed you to lean a bit about light motor vehicles, and indeed i learn too. But here may be i would like to add a few more points along with yours. 1. My machine is not always in torque converter phase. Sometimes its just the fluid coupling phase which is actually bit different. In fluid coupling phase oil goes and hits my turbine but since my final drive is not loaded it rotates immediately
this added flow will make sure that the turbine rotates if not in 1st cycle in 'n'th cycle. And thats the point when the regular torque gets multiplied and so is the name torque converter. Now may be you have put all this in your torque multiplier video, but there was no links to your other videos unlike what you said so in this video. just passed my knowledge on converters. Great work either ways. Cheers from my side.
When it rotates my oil doesn have the energy within to flow back to stator. Or i would say it just drops to drain. 2. in torque converter phase my final drives are loaded and so my turbines are reluctant to flow. When this happens the energy stored in my pumped oil from impeller bounces back and hits the stator. The job of stator as you said is to prevent my oil to go and hit straight on my impeller which would make it to slow down or it stalls my engine.
hi, u said that the clutching/coupling function will stop when we apply brakes as there is no mechanical linkage between flywheel and turbine(oil starts slipping)..but the force will be exerted on the turbine..wouldn't that force result in difficult braking/heating of oil/breaking of turbine...i m a novice in this field pls explain.
So you have a sound knowledge about it, salutes. Please have a look at our other videos too and rate us. Ok will add the annotations as i have mentioned.
My stator also makes sure that it redirects the flow of oil to my impeller in such a way that it adds to the usual flow of impeller. what i mean is say impeller, for every rotation, pumps 5gallons/min of oil. And this 5gpm hits my turbine which doesn rotates and gets bounced back to stator which redirects to impeller again. So what happens is in my 2nd cycle i have my regular 5gpm of oil pumped by my impeller and also added 5gpm bounced back from my turbine via stator.
well said ... jose sir . I request u sud make a video explaining the mechanism of different automatic transmissions like AMT, CVT, (Vw group's) DSG based in dual clutch transmission and also Porsche's PDK saying pros nd cons and which is better
Is tarque convertor is a automatic transmission gear box ?..as I m asking this ques becoz, so it's doesn't need any Clutch box as it's a Fluid clutch as u said it's similar to that..
Sure vl upload a video on that topis. Please have a look at our ther videos too n rate us, you can also share in facebook. Please refer to your frnds too.
Your explanation is partly correct but you do not understand Hydraulic Kinetics. To explain how drive is created in a fluid coupling you must understand the effect of how fluid drives the coupling. If you take a hose pipe with water flowing out then cut across the flow with your hand you will feel an impact on the edge of your hand, the faster the water flows the more the impact with your hand. Now you will understand how the cut of the Impeller to the turbine with a very fine space develops the driving force between the two and this was the first fluid coupling - the importance of this understanding is that it is not the flow across the two components that drives the turbine it is the cut influenced by the speed of flow. Further developments of this coupling found that if you inserted a stator to the principle then the fluid could be speeded up even more, however, this is very useful for torque multiplication at the initial pick up but after a specific rotational match is achieved it becomes wasteful so the stator is mounted on a one way sprag clutch so that it is allowed to spin with the coupling thus disengaging the flow from the stator. Note there is always a specific amount of slip with any fluid coupling therefore a further enhancement is to lock the coupling together with a clutch that disengages when gear shifts are made and when the vehicle stops.
housing is attached with the flywheel so when flywheel rotates , housing rotates and thus impeller rotates which then send the fluid to the turbine to rotate it
It is used in automatic gearbox ,there is no gear change. That vehicle only have forward or reverse In JCB torque converter is used at the same time the gear lever also there, then how it works. How was the engage and disengae done??

Hi Jesse, tks for the comment, take care.
Nice explanation bro, really good knowledge you have about torque converter.
Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it….
Much better than my college faculty! Thanks you.
Explanation at its best. A big applause to you..

just passed my knowledge on converters.
Great work either ways. Cheers from my side.
Smoothly explained.
thanks a ton dude .
Great 👍👌 explanation. Keep it up
Thanks for the comment
just one word !! .."Simply Superb "
too good sir...A big like..... luv to watch more..
this video is gud.
Plz add videos about epicyclic transmission and overdrives.

very nice presentation, easy understand it

good explanation sir ,does this torque converter will help to increase hp , if so how can we calculate the transmission
Turbine is directly connected to the engine or flywheel??
Ok...you are correct.
Thank you friend. Very informative.

would you explain working of borg warmer transmission and hobbs and smith transmision
very well put!!!!
good effort Sir,very thanks fr this video.
Very good video very informative thank you!!

a very much useful video thank you
awsum.....thank you so much.......!!!!!!!!
OK, i am with u
Tks
Good explanation.
HI. will definitely do that.
if you like our video please refer to your frnds too and share about us in social networks.
Yes i follow that.
awsm video great explanation thankyou sir
what are the benefits of using it? please explain.
i think... the impeller is at the engine side.. and the turbine is at the opposite side. So with out stater it will slow down the engine.
no, impeller is at gearbox side connected with engine shaft and turbine is at engine side connected with output shaft.
ya
very good . thank you
Very well explain..
good snd well explanasion
good work
Sure vl upload a video on that topis.

Good one,
Thank you..
nice sir....
sir jab flywheel aur torque converter k beech koi mechanical linkage nhi hota to impellor aur fluid kese rotate hota h.Please reply me.
housing is attached with the flywheel so when flywheel rotates , housing rotates and thus impeller rotates which then send the fluid to the turbine to rotate it
very nice
Thank you sir

what is difference between torque converter and fluid flywheel
best skill
torque converter can act as gearbox for automatic power transmission
Thanks sir
Excuse me, i don't understand what makes the impeller rotate at first? ....
