Wow is that a 6th gear? Looks like some very tall gearing 100 km/h under 2000 RPM. I woudn't expect is from such a heavy car and not the biggest engine. Very nice!
Thx. That's actually not bad for V8. I believe that manual transmission has much shorter gearing so A/T should be more economical on the highway, even more so with 6cylinder.
I suppose it depends on speed range, manual has less drivetrain losses so it should be more economical in overall. But I think that 5th gear overdrive of auto box has lower revs on highway than 6th gear of manual tranny. Anyway, congrats to your car. I would like to buy one too, I am looking for 728 as they should be safest choice in terms of reliability, also with half-decent economy, as I would like to stay on the bright side and avoid LPG conversion :-)
Nice RPM, E38 is the best, its the factors of AT Vs Man, and differential ratio. Mine is Man 528i e39, high ratio differential that I change from 2nd to 3rd on 90km/h , yet on smooth ride I always have 130km/h on fifth gear on exactly 3000 RPM, here you can see it with the fuel consumption th-cam.com/video/GpRb2Q_8sUU/w-d-xo.html

728 is not heavy at all. 1700 kg.
