I own oneplus 3, but sadly already cracked the screen. Slipped out of my pocket. It wasn't that big of an impact and the screen is now KO. It cracked in two places. All that with original case and screen protector. So be careful, its quite easy to damage it.
Luckily, OnePlus charged me just 90 Euro for screen replacement with labour, DHL express shipping and everything else included. Not that bad considering new screen alone is selling for 115 Euro on ebay.

I need to get my phone fixed though, I have spiderwebs covering up 50% of the screen, so it is very difficult to read text etc. I guess I'll just have to fork out the cash to pay for it...

That thing you said about corrosion on the physical button pads or in the buttons themselves caused by water just happened to me. After 2 years of ownership, the vol buttons started to work half the time and a year later I replaced them. Even though my phone has never been around water to my knowledge, I saw some stains that water leaves behind when evaporates around the buttons and especially the sim card tray inside the phone when I opened it. Most likely normal daily usage results in that because of environmental humidity, human sweat etc. So what you suggested is a very likely scenario for the 3T. Despite this, I am glad though that the phone isn't waterproof as it is very easy to repair.

Can you replace the the single slab of aluminum? My one plus 3 has some scratches in the back pannel and a broken camera glass. Nice video by the way!

Very interesting design compared to the previous phones. Especially all(most) of the components connected to the screen portion leaving the aluminum mostly bare. Also like how the charging is very easy to remove. Great detailed video, as usual. Can't wait for the phone in the video to arrive at my door step ;) and if anything goes wrong I can refer to this video.

where can I get rear camera replacement

  • @gutturf
    @gutturf 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Thanks for this video! I am upset that so few manufacturers have replaceable batteries these days. It is not so much the convenience in going from 0 to 100% charge in seconds by swapping the battery (although that is nice), but more being able to increase longevity when the battery capacity decreases in a year or two. This video shows that it only takes about 5 minutes to do this. That combined with an unlockable bootloader and good support on XDA means I will be placing an order for a OP3T the day it is released.

Thank you very much for the inside view of the OnePlus3!
Looks like the headphone jack is once more on the bottom and cannot be replaced individually (need an entire new power module should it be the only thing broken). Is this true? Could not see this in the video.

Zack, Thank You for the awesome review of yours !
For me personally is much more important the internal design, "Functionality" placement of the buttons and est., than the look.
So obviously OnePlus have done their job again. I'm sorry for colorless battery too.
After your Teardown, it's a "Must have situation" ! Appreciate your work :-)
    Tank you again, Zack.

Hi Jerry, i have what i think is a very difficult question. Let me give you a little bit of background first. I had a Huawei P8 with OIS, After using it for a month the camera started to buzz and the image started to shake....a little bit of research got me the answer...since i used the phone on my motorcycle cellphone mount, the vibration screwed up the OIS motor. Ive been considering to buy a OP3, however im affraid the phone will damage as well since it comes with OIS: The question is, do you know if the technology is the same, being that both carry Sony sensor, im affraid it will have the same effect if i use it on my motorcycle.
    Thanks

Hi Jerry, I stump into this video 'cause I have a problem with my OP3 rear camera... the autofocus doesn't seems to respond. I was wondering if you knew about this, if it's convenient to change the camera or just open the phone apart and change it myself (that's how I got your video at the end!). Thanks a lot for your time and answer!

Going to replace the battery with the red one from my OPO.
That's a lot less screws than the OPO btw. Replaced my OPO screen 3 times, good to see that replacing it in the OP3 will be a lot quicker.
