    What kind of power band do those engines have? 4 gears, getting up to tht speed and always being at peak power I am assuming should be quite challenging

    • @aaronbradley4361
      @aaronbradley4361 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Good question, then make peak power actually around 6,000k-7,000k as to make the torque to pull out of a corner. But it truly is such an amazing motor to be able to go through so many heat cycles and then Run full throttle for 30 minutes at a time

    • @mastoner20
      @mastoner20 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on the package, track, and the class. Cup's 2016 package uses ECU port injection v8s makes 725 horse peak and 720 ft-lbs peak unrestricted. Actually down from 850 horses on carbs in 2011.
      But for a better idea, 2006's rules and tech produced 820 hp at 9,000 RPM and 520 ft-lbs at 7,000 RPM and continuously cycled between 7k and 10k without much problem. Also, most drivers and engineers of that season claimed redline could be as high as 11,000 RPM on those engines were it not for the rear ends of the cars.
      Also, for comparison' sake, a 2006 F1 engine produced about 755 BHP at 19,000 RPM and 214 ft-lbs at 17,000 RPM. So I guess NASCAR engines really aren't that much less sophisticated than F1 engines, other than not having pneumatic valves and 180° crankshafts.

    • @constantinosmallios
      @constantinosmallios 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      11th to piss you off too. It's boring because there isn't as much skill being put into the driving. This is why we say all they do is make a left turn. If you're a true motorsport fan and appreciate the machines, watch the Supercars in Australia and Formula 1. The engineering of the F1 is superb and the VASC sound awesome. VASC and F1 require a lot more skill because you need to "study" the track and find points on it which give you more grip and they need to focus on their corner entry's and exits because that can make a big difference in your lap time.

    • @Jay-zs7kp
      @Jay-zs7kp 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You really don't know how these cars handle do you?

    • @constantinosmallios
      @constantinosmallios 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I do. They are overly heavy cars. When you drive a NASCAR, you need to use the "point and shoot method". All they need is the air to flow to the rear wing to push the air up and create down force in the back of the car so it is stable.

    • @Jay-zs7kp
      @Jay-zs7kp 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of the time that doesn't happen. For one, NASCAR lowered the size of the rear spoiler and the splitter depth. On top of that a lot of the time you are racing with cars around you taking away that down force. Those cars don't handle like a go-kart, that slide around everywhere and they slide around even more at the end of a run. It requires lots of skill to handle that car. Also, the drivers are always looking for new places on the track which can give them more grip. The only difference F1 has, is that they turn right. Turning left and right requires no more skill then turning left.

  • @blakewheeler7066
    @blakewheeler7066 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    they think it's boring because they are not a true race fan. they probably do not understand that this is a single car test. about finding increment amounts speed that's it. put their ass in that race car. bet they wouldn't think boring then. the other gut is right, don't watch because some people just don't get it.
