Everyone is engaged in some kind of a battle. We never really know what people are battling. All we can do is treat ourselves with great kindness and extend that kindness to others. Thank you for taking care of yourself. You are precious to us. 💕💕
I was just thinking the same. We really never know what others have going on, behind closed doors. That's why it's so important to not envy others, and to just be grateful for what we have. ❤
That is not true, there are plenty of happy people who have no struggles, I have many friends that are very happy and they are grateful to not have my problems. (Or those of others.) the only way to think is to try to be happy for them, but saying everyone has their struggles” is simply not true.
@@stephanie-fh5qv I am truly delighted to know there are people who have not had any struggles or any problems. However, that has not been my experience. But I’m very grateful to have managed to be happy in spite of my difficult journey and even more thrilled to have helped many along the way. 💕💕
I get you. It's not helped by the fact that instagram/ you tube and the other platforms constantly show people living their best life. It dishonest and triggering. I think the only thing we cn do is like you say try to be happy for them I(fake it til you make it, can work and make you feel happier) or just dont interact physically or on the internet with those that trigger feelings of struggle. Youre not alone though know this. @@stephanie-fh5qv
When I started my womanly journey in 1963 ( 14 years ) my periods were unbelievable . I would stay home from school for 2 days with tea and a hot water bottle and aspirin. Skip over to my hysterectomy 1997 after 2 children no more pain but hormone replacement was needed and taken . So good for me. Thank goodness you young ladies have more information on this.
Dearest Lyd, I have written you several times, but each time to tell you how very proud of you I am. This podcast is one of the best ones yet. Why? You are addressing women's issues regarding the menstrual cycle. What a down to earth talk you had with your subscribers. You weren't embarrassed, you were straight forward all the while sharing your experiences. You reiterated that this was your experiences but I'm sharing and learning with you. You were excited that you had a female gynecologist which made you more relaxed and knew that she could understand more so than a male. I'm 72 years old and that was what was available to me during my period years. I want you to know that I had to force myself to be comfortable as well as Sterling myself to speak up when he didn't fully understand what my body was telling me. It was hard to translate my body messages to a male. There were times that I was dismissed vice listened to. I'm so happy you can talk woman to woman and Lord knows she is understanding you. Your choice of trying a more holistic approach in healing is a great choice while keeping other choices on the table. I like that you keep all choices available and that makes you a Boss Babe. I was called a difficult or militant woman. Lol On the contrary, I had been told by my parents to always stand up for yourself. I'm so glad you are doing the same. I don't know you personally, but Lydia you have remained the same in your heart but have grown in maturity. You will be a beautiful 72 year old. Lol I think just like your Grandmother
I was diagnosed a month ago. I cannot tell you how much of a relief it feels to hear someone talking about it out-loud. PMDD is BRUTAL, it really takes a toll. The absolute weirdest thing is that it turns like a clock, literally has a calendar so I know exactly when it’s about to happen and I am never ready. It took years of tracking symptoms every day, so many labs, so many smears (negatives), so many biopsies. Please continue to talk about this. It took doctors over 8 years to figure it out, they just saw that I looked healthy and went with that.
Thank you for sharing Lydia. Diagnosed 2 years ago. I found magnesium, rose bud tea, changed diet, better sleep, monthly massages and sunshine are a few of the things that helped with my PMDD. I chose not to take any medication. Mood fluctuations in my cycles aren’t as frequent nor as severe and haven’t had suīcidal thoughts for almost a year now. All the best with your health journey.
Lydia, you are such a kind hearted and empathetic soul. You are so lovely to watch and the calm that comes over me when I watch your videos is like therapy. Thank you for being so open and thoughtful, you are an essential part of how I spend my time on TH-cam. ❤
Lydia, I love watching you and love your honesty and bravery in putting your story out there. I have MS and when first diagnosed no one could tell from looking at me how sick I felt or how much pain I was in. I have never, would I ever place my pain or hardships above another. I have always said a hardship is a hardship. Now with limited mobility I see the look in people's eyes when they look at me and I very much dislike the pity. I don't need it and don't want it, also I understand when people feel they need to hold back from me because they don't want to upset me but I just want to tell you from little old me....please don't hold back if you really want to share because you have built up and amazing, caring community here and you've helped me and I'm here for it! The good, the not so good and the bougie❣ Love from Canada🍁
Absolutely 👏 Im a lady living with cancer and say this to my friends quite often. Whatever it is it’s still something they are struggling with we should never compare. Lydia doesn’t know this but many of times going through chemotherapy year after year she brings me so much joy watching her vlogs during those unpleasant moments. I wonder how many women could finally go to there GP to talk about something they’ve had on their minds through watching Lydia vlog this evening🙏 xx
After losing my best friend to bowl cancer I changed my lifestyle to a non processed diet & also chemical free detergents.Years ago it was not so easy to get but now we have a wider range. I am blessed to not take pain killers or medication instead drinking more water, walking daily & adding seasonal Vegetables & fruits. Look forward to seeing your journey & any new products to help us all.Excited!!!!
Also filtering your water is probably the first thing to do for your health. Never drink tap water, it's full of toxic chemicals, birth pill residue, chlorine which depletes your gut from good bacteria and so other nasties such as heavy metals...
I also had the same symptoms years ago and some how after I gave birth it got better! I never got diagnosed but I noticed on my own the relation between my mood and my thoughts and my cycle. Once you figure out that all those bad thoughts are caused by your hormones you have way more control of your mood. Wish you the best!
Hi lovely! Stage 4 Endometriosis warrior and Advocate here. The only way to get an offical diagnosis for Endometriosis is via a laparoscopy, a laparoscopy can be done at anytime and definitely does not need anything to show up on scans for you to qualify for one. Endometriosis often does not show up on any tests or scans. I would recommend seeing an Endometriosis Specialist, unfortunately many gynaecologist don’t specialise in endometriosis and can often spread misinformation. There is so much misinformation that surrounds Endometriosis, hence the reasons I advocate so hard! I hope you’re able to get some answers and relief soon. Period pain that stops you doing normal day to day activities, sending you to the hospital and leaving you in crippling pain is not normal and definitely needs to be further investigated ❤️❤️
Warrior right here with you.💛I had my second surgery in December. It had grown up to my liver. I made the decision to get rid of ‘’Belle” it was a hard decision, and I know it’s not a cure, but I’m ok with it now. My only thing now is making sure it does not come back to my bowels. So scans every 6 months. The endo had wrapped itself around most of my organs, mostly my bowels within months of my first surgery. Ablation in May and Excursion and the end to my monthly subscription in December.
Stage 3 warrior here, as well. In 5 years I had 5 surgeries, including a hysterectomy at age 30. As previously mentioned by others, a hysterectomy is not a cure and is a decision that is made with your family, your doctor, and with many details of your individual situation taken into account. It is a terribly hard/emotional choice at any point, no matter what, but is especially painful in a different way when you are very young. However, it can also be a positive. 5 years later I feel good and am still glad I made that choice for myself and my family. @emiliavictoria thank you so much for including the correct information for getting a definitive diagnosis and how to find a practitioner that is best able to assist. 💛💛
You did nail the explanation of PMDD and you are right in that approaching it from lifestyle and dietary alternations will be very supportive for you. A nutritional therapist/functional medicine practitioner can help you with exactly that. I am one for context. I’d love to see you talk about toxic free products because of how much they disrupt our delicate hormone balance. Well done to you for advocating for your health 💜
This. I think I always come back to her because it’s like I’m just hearing a friend talk over the phone. Even though she’s living a very different lifestyle to me, I feel like she grounds ME by reminding me of what life can be like one day. Simple, elegant, beautiful.
Ayurveda is such an interesting topic. Everytime I come back from India, i feel so inspired. To the topic of chemicals, I read that washing powders and softners have hudge influence on endocrine system. it is worth to look at it. Deodorants, lotions, conditioners, it all absorbes through our skin to the blood. Less is more ladies!♥
I changed from sanitary towels to underwear and it's made a world of difference! Every month I'd be in so much pain, wanting to vomit and feel like someone had their hand inside me and was churning everything up! I just wish I had them 10 years ago!!
I have been experiencing some very similar symptoms during my periods and my friend told me that she thought that I might have PMDD too! I've got my Gyno appointment booked and everything but it is sooo nice to see you Lydia talk and be so open about this! I am 24 about to be 25 and have watched you since I was a teen and have looked up to you! It means the world to me that you would share this because I know it is not an easy one to talk about bc this stuff can be hella scary! So I just want to say thank you ♥️
So happy to hear you speak about your thoughts on making lifestyle changes. Thank you for sharing. Even though I have started mine a while back, I am really looking forward to seeing what you learn, try and ultimately embrace. Very excited you are willing to take us along on this journey 💚
I went on a carnivore diet in 2021 to help with my depression, hair loss, period pains, migraines, acne so much more and it cured all of it. Now living a very calm and happy life.❤ Not to say everyone should go carnivore but it is so important to be conscious of what we put into and on our body and you are doing a great thing sharing this with this with others. Best wishes on your journey, Lydia.
Thank you for sharing. I too began the carnivore to improve my health. I’m 73 and medication free. High energy. 50 lbs lighter. Wish I’d learned this life path many years earlier. I’m just two years in …. 🩵
As someone who suffers with atypical endometrial hyperplasia and PCOS it is refreshing to hear someone talk about lifestyle changes in an effort to better your health. it is something im working on also to help with the PCOS, losing weight and taking better general care of myself and what i put into my body and its lovely to hear someone else doing/planning on doing the same thing. We all have our battles and as women we should all be helping one another. Hearing you speak so openly about your diagnosis is so helpful to me and i will assume it will be a comfort to many others to, to know we are not alone and somewhere, someone else is experiencing the same thing or a similar thing. i wish you all the best on this journey and look forward to hearing you speak more about it. much love to you xoxo
Lydia also wanted to say thank you for sharing this and always being open . I have full faith you’ll come out the other end stronger, wiser and an inspiration to so many women that share a similar diagnosis. Sending all the good vibes.
Dear Lydia, thanks for sharing your diagnosis and approach to healing. It is absolutely essential to Watch not only what we eat but also what we put on skin and hair! I have been trying to only use natural oils, clean skincare and makeup and avoid buying food in plastic products as well as clothes made of polyester. Our skin is our biggest organs and it absorbs everything we put on it and everything it comes in contact with ❤ you are starting a beautiful journey that will bring healing to you and your audience 😍
Thank you for your openness and honesty. I cried. I had no idea what PMDD was till you talked about it - so I looked it up and suddenly it was like a piece of the puzzle fits. I’m not going crazy twice a month - it’s an actual thing with a name! And I have all the symptoms too. After years of trying different things or thinking it’s peri-menopause I now have a place to start and research and can make changes. Thank you, thank you so much. ❤ ripples…
Thanks for todays video. One thing that made a difference for my health was (sadly) removing candles and diffusers in my home ( as well as being careful of paint, they cause me rashes on my face). I probably wear perfume 3 - 5 times a year now, for special occassions. I know you love your scents, so im by no means suggesting removing completely. However you may find reducing how much you use, will also reduce the toxic load. An analogy i use a lot is imaging you have a bucket. Once that bucket overflows, the symptoms surface. Over the years my allergies and sensitivities have got better. So i can consume some things i couldnt before, however only in certain quantities, otherwise it floods my bucket 😂 Hope that helps. 🙏
Explore unscented beeswax candles because they have good health benefits. If you get scented beeswax candles with essential oils - use candle warmers rather than lighting them up.
Thanks @@gracechadi . I've rried these which work great for me. However my husband gets affected by the 'smoke'. I wonder if the candle warmers will help - i cant find these online, what are they?
It's very good of you to realize that people are dealing with different sorts of battles. Your situation is seriously impacting your quality of life, and that is important. I have MS and when I see my neurologist to describe my symptoms, I tend to say "I feel bad whinging about this when other people with MS are so much sicker". She is a great doctor and always reminds me that my situation is just that, and I shouldn't compare myself to others. But if I were speaking to someone with MS who is unable to walk, for instance, I wouldn't go on about my issues. You're very empathetic and you've got this covered! I wish you improvement in your condition soon! 💚
Best way to spend my lunch! I’ve noticed in recent videos, including this one that you’ve upgraded/changed your wedding rings. Can you do an updated ring tour and talk through the change? I remember you talking prior to Christmas about wanting something more timeless.
Hated those two ring guards she bought years ago... don't know why women feel need to more than an ERing & band (the symbolism of the two is an important reminder & memory.)
Magnesium oil spray is incredible for those day one period cramps. It’s so easy to pop a paracetamol but now I try to avoid it and rub the magnesium oil over my abdomen and lower back. It does make your clothing a little greasy but just bare that in mind and choose something that you don’t mind some the oil soaking into.
It took a very long time for my Husband, his Dr's, other specialists, to go about the process of elimination with food, supplements, etc., to determine a correct diet for him, that would eliminate the use of insulin, taking food out for a period of time, then reintroducing it back in to see adverse reactions, then removing if necessary. This was achieved, wonderful to not have to use chemicals in order to stay well, sometimes you just need to start the journey with food. Good for you Lydia, intelligent people will always question, not just throw the hands up, giving in because it's easier. You've come along way, working hard on yourself to dismiss the naysayers and criticism so unnecessarily hurled at you. Good luck my dear
I wish you so much luck of your health journey! It’s great how you’re learning about your body and health. Also, I want to remind you not to minimize how difficult your hormonal health has been for you. A difficulty 2 weeks out of the month, is 1/2 your life! That’s a lot! I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through this! And, with that, you’ve been able to be a successful business person as well! 👏🏾 Whatever it takes, I hope you get the health and balance you deserve!
Lydia, thank you for your empathy and so delicately presenting how anyone might feel when you are discussing your health and diagnosis. Just know we appreciate you and care about you also, and even if we are going through something that we may feel is worse it doesn’t take away from what you are going through. Everyone deserves to be heard and validated, and it’s real eveyones one situation for them. No one should judge another we don’t walk in others shoes. Each persons experience is there’s. We support one another. Thank you for providing this community always and for your care and consideration of how you present all of these topics. I have followed you from the beginning of your channel and I’m so grateful for you. Be gentle on yourself, you work so hard always, you are so good. You do not have to be perfect. This is a beautiful discussion to have. Let’s lnot judge one another life can be hard for all, let’s learn together. One thing I will share is endometriosis for me was only diagnosed during an emergency surgery and doctors looking through Camera inside - never was seen on internal exam or scans . ❤🤗💫
As someone who suffers from both PCOS and Endometriosis and am in fact going having a full hysterectomy in April, as I cannot have kids, it doesn't hurt me to have you talk about your journey, your journey is your journey. I have been dealing with Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer) for the last year and 1/2 and by the time I am done, 2 1/2 years, which even though we were pretty sure I couldn't have kids before the diagnosis, I definitely can't have them now due to the chemotherapy. This is MY journey and it is something I am going through, again, just as your journey is your journey and just as important. It takes a lot of bravery to talk about one's personal journey like that and I am proud (cheesy I know) of you for doing that and I thank you for doing it. When it comes to Ilia makeup, be careful of the foundation, it is VERY oily, which can make it hard to set and it has a tendency to slide around because of it. An alternate (for me) was NARS Light Reflecting Advanced Skincare Foundation. It doesn't upset my very sensitive skin. I was sensitive before chemotherapy, but it is ridiculous now. As NARS is considered a clean skincare brand, I don't mind using it.
Hi Lydia, thank you for always sharing. Your content is a breath of fresh air. I’ve been living with endometriosis for years now. The pain is severe. I’m quickly realizing the only solution will be hysterectomy as nothing else has helped. The pain is crippling and prevents many day to day activities. *Edited to say that endometriosis can be difficult to diagnose. The kind I have is powdery and difficult to detect. However, it is the kind that produces the most pain. Laparoscopic procedures do very little for this kind of endometriosis as it is difficult to remove. Endometrial tissue can adhere to organs and nerves and cause widespread pain.
so here for this!!! So here to hear everything about your journey, your changes, your experiences! You have taught me and changed so much for me, I can only learn from this. Thank you & can‘t wait! ♥️
I'm really looking forward to your journey and what I can learn. I have been on the "clean" food and products train for over 10 years and could never go back to processed food and chemical products. I am sure you will have access to some really great things for us all to try in our quest to be as healthy and joyful as we can possibly be :). Thanks!
Lydia, I love how Ali throws in a really nice compliment just like that when he commented your outfit before going to dinner! You have such a loving husband!
I really appreciate your self awareness and ability to articulate it so beautifully - I relate to your approach to lifestyle and diet, I also have PMDD but not officially diagnosed but my approach is very holistic (I am a nurse btw!) and I love and appreciate your perspective of being kind to those who don’t want to be holistic etc … , it is a real shame that your ability to speak so eloquent likely comes from a place of needing to defend yourself against the criticism of the internet at times . I hope we can all be supportive and have compassion and empathy and gentleness towards each other with regard to PMDD and lifestyle changes. If more people took the proactive approach to change their lifestyle (and like you said small changes no one needs to be perfect or take it to the extremes) the NHS and general health of our country would be so much better and therefore more people would feel happier in their day to day life. Thanks for shedding light on this subject, very interesting.
Good luck with your health issues, Lydia. I started to go through menopause when I was 38. It was a blessing not to get my period every month, I felt so much healthier. It was wonderful to see your garden center with plants outside. Unfortunately, we won't see that for a few more month in Massachusetts. I am itching to get some of my house plants outside, they do so much better than in the house. Loved the hotel room you stayed in, so cozy and pretty. The pearl bracelet was lovely.
Hi Lydia! Also on this health / non toxic journey these past few months and I have to say : non toxic TikTok is a godsend, Stacy Sims’ book Roar has literally all the information any woman might need about her cycle (almost) and Ayurveda is literal ancient wisdom that I would love to be able to practice because it can literally do miracles! I’d love to be a wise woman herbalist, but alas no time! Good luck to you on this journey, it’s genuinely so so satisfying. Thanks for sharing!
I went to a wise women’s health practitioner n it was one of the best decisions i ever made for my health. I learned so much from her n shared some of the things she taught me in comment. Def recommend u find a practitioner. I went in ttc after a miscarriage and was pregnant with my daughter soon after. I’m forever greatful to Laura 💗
I think I was the one who mentioned PMDD a while ago in your comments. So glad you got the diagnosis! It (can be) a long journey coming to terms with it and figuring out where to go next in terms of treatment. My only advice is, be open minded about everything that you can use to treat it, both 'natural' and more synthetic hormone treatments. Sometimes diet isn't enough, sometimes supplements aren't enough (or require tailoring). Sometimes you have to choose something you wouldn't have previously aligned with, but it can be worth the risk :) Sending love x
Loving your honesty! I have PMDD too and those low moments really are low. Glad you have a diagnosis and hoping your lifestyle changes help. If you haven't read it already, the book period power has been great in helping me understand each week of my cycle and how i should treat myself at different points.
Raspberry leaf tea is amazing for menstrual issues esp cramping. Also great for fertility. CALM magnesium helps with sleep, regularity, mood. Also, castor oil abdominal massage is fantastic as well n helps get things moving, get rid of internal scar tissue, cysts. Proteolytic enzymes another great option n also good for breast health.
Nvr tried vitex berry thanks for sharing 😊 yes raspberry leaf works so well I rarely get any cramping n my periods r normal n so much easier to deal with!
Years ago I use to have to travel to NY city. Back in the 70s and 80s. I had a girlfriend who moved there so my boss let me stay with her and use my hotel money to go to the theater and eat lavish dinners. Anyway i noticed her complexion changing pretty quickly! I asked her about it and she said even though she was getting a facial every other week she couldn’t seem to stop the damage happening to her face. I did some research because one of my other best friend was the best person on the east coast to go to for facial and skin advice. We found out that the pollutants were so high in NY that they contained acids and or very fine bits of metal that were destroying the skin. I also found out models had special treatments to keep their skin better but average people had pockets forming on their skin and scaring. They eventually started cleaning it up after wealthy people stated making some noise but it was pretty bad and my friend had to leave NY. I suspect that with your hair it is the heavy pollutants in and around London that are causing the problem and you need a product that is natural that can remove them and it may have to happen daily. If you know a chemist friend you might want them to Analyse your hair after a long day in the city to see specifically what you are dealing with. This might be a great idea for a new product if you can get some specifics on what is in the air. In Scotland there are none of these chemicals so your hair is in a naturally healthy environment!
Thanks for your honesty, Lydia. I self-diagnosed my PMDD because of how unbearable the symptoms were. Kudos to you for the lifestyle changes and the step by step analysis. Women's health is so under-studied.
I just learned I have PMDD by hearing it from Lydia 😮. All my life I have painful periods but recently I started having strange symptoms such as panic attacks, get stressed too easy, and moody so often, have period pain one to two weeks before my period would start. I do not have all of the symptoms for the PMDD (I just looked up) but seems like mine have just started. I am going to see a gynecologist asap! Thank you Lydia for bringing this up. I wish you all the best with whatever treatment you choose🙏
Explore castor oil and magnesium oil because they help with hormone balance and the effects of unbalance such as heavy bleeding, painful cramps, mood swings, etc ❤.
There's no place like home❤ not everyones conscious level is at the same place. We're all here together sharing what we know.. and learning about what we don't.. and that's okay.
I always notice how flawlessly kept your clothes are. I would love if you did a video on what you do for steaming, ironing, dry-cleaning. Do you provide any special instructions based on the linen to the cleaners? Would love if you specify what you have done for purse/shoe cleaning as well. Very interested.
I’m a great believer in what you eat really affects the body. I’m diabetic and this led to me making changes. I eat a really non processed diet, I’m vegetarian have been for many years and eat a Mediterranean plant based diet. I’m sure your research into food and lotions etc will really benefit your symptoms. Good luck with all this! ❤
I am diagnosed with PMDD. For me it was a relief to get the diagnose and to understand. It might sound silly, but take an antihistamine pill (reactine or similar). There is huge evidence in PMDD cases, that this prevents the block of your serotonin. That in combination with your lifestyle changes should work fine - no need for antidepressants! I think you can do a lot for women with PMDD by talking about it. It’s a rare „disorder“. Thank you for doing so ❤
So engaging. I have Fibromyalgia and moving towards non toxic products. Will watch with interest. No need for makeup anyway, you just don’t need ! Good luck and thank you 🙏🏻
I am a severely disabled women with Chronic Lyme disease and I am not offended at all by your words about your own health struggles. I find your videos very inspiring, so thank you Lydia.
So resonated with your thoughts on skin and bodycare. I’m also on a similar path - long gone are the double cleansing, seven step routines as am much more conscious about the effects on our endocrine system and hormones. Good luck with your journey ✨
Lydia, as a pelvic health physio I say thank you and well done for talking so openly and honestly about your issues! It’s so sad how often as women we suffer for so long with gynaecology issues. From a pelvic health view it could definitely be worth exploring seeing a pelvic health physio to see if any of your symptoms may be linked to your pelvic floor and everything surrounding! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm going through similar things at this moment. In fact, tomorrow I'm having a biopsy completed on my uterian lining. I also have an appointment with a nutritionist Friday. Best wishes on your journey and thank you again or being so considerate and compassionit for others.
I've been on the nontoxic kick, unprocessed food kick, for about a few years now. I'm glad you're venturing down it! Happy to hear more about what you find. 👍 Great content 👏👏
I used ILIA for the first time last year and I truly enjoyed it. I have eczema and my skin is so sensitive and I didn’t have any issue with their foundations and blush. It works so well on skin that is prone to drying out. Their mascara is also fantastic! I will say their products smell different then any other makeup I have used but I did not think it smelled bad and once it was on my face I couldn't smell it.
I have PMDD as well but I am happy to know because I thought I was losing my mind and I finally just told my doctor what i was experiencing so I feel better knowing. I track my cycle now and made adjustments to my diet, exercise, etc. But i do allow myself to relax and take time for myself to feel .. I have prescription for pain and I take it as needed but I have not taken the prescription to help with my emotions because I track my cycle so i know what and why im feeling the way i am and i take a break go for a walk etc to help. We are in this together. 😊
You surprise me lydia with your constant efforts to enlighten women with various important aspects. I had endometriosis and had a surgery. I had a highly stressful life and learned to relax bcos our hormones fluctuate as we undergo any stress. So just slow down little bit..breathe. one more personal experience i want to share is take medicine and no ayurvedic medicine is really helpful, I hv never had processed food but still got stuck. Good luck to everyone single woman, take care of yourself. Thank you lydia for bringing this very important health care information.
I have always had female gynos. I figure I’d rather talk to someone who’s driving the same equipment so we can be on the same page. I mean, explaining cramps to someone who’s never felt them never sat right with me. Loved seeing Lumi! She’s such a beautiful girl!!
So using that theory you’ll only get treated by a doctor who’s had cancer if you were to ever be diagnosed with cancer? This makes zero sense and just smells of elitism. I wish people would do better.
yeah bro as a woman it just makes sense talking to women doctors...why would you want to talk to someone who hasn't experienced what you have in some shape or form. It's not elitism it's common sense@@lalatte8294
Endometriosis can only be diagnosed by laparoscopy surgery. I have stage 4 endometriosis. I would recommend getting further tests if they think you could have endometriosis. Sending love x
I had two doctors diagnose me with endo without a lap surgery. TWO! I refused to accept their diagnosis without the proof so when I finally did have a way to prove it right or wrong through another surgery in that area of my body, they finally told me I didn’t actually have it. So frustrating! I knew all along but if I had been ignorant and not educated myself then I would still be on bc and experiencing symptoms so horrible that doctors thought it was endo.
What works for me to balance hormones is a DIM supplement. DIM is a high concentration of cruciferous vegetables. Also avoiding foods and products that contain lots of estogen: soy, non grass fed dairy products, synthetic fragrance in beauty and so much more. Its amazing how many things we use and consume on a daily basis that contain hormones that mimic estrogen.
Hi Lydia. I’m so thrilled for you that you finally got a diagnosis. As a chronically ill person. I am all too familiar with diagnosis. Doctors and the unending opinions. So much so. That when I was first diagnosed with my first brain tumour. I very quickly realised that no one was going to advocate for what was most important, except myself. So I started pre med. I just want to clarify that anything you put onto your skin cannot reach your bloodstream. That would infect be impossible. Not too mention extremely dangerous if it did. So you’re creams and such can go into your skin. Just as when you take a supplement. It is broken up in your GI tract. It’s your body. This is your journey. Be patient and gentle on yourself.
Just when I thought I was losing touch with your content you deliver this!!!!! It’s crazy how we end up back in sync again which stops me leaving your channel. Must be the Aries in us! I have just finished ultra processed people and it has been game changing. As someone who has suffered with my menstrual cycle I have had two months of pain free periods by making ‘conscious’ changes. I’m staying fully invested in your channel and look forward to staying in touch with your channel and look forward to your story too ❤
I’m so early!!! Sending so much love from the states. I’ve been following you for many years and I just wanted to say I still get butterflies when the notification comes on that you posted a new video. ❤️❤️❤️
So happy for you Lydia you have clarity about moving forward! If you can I would also suggest working with a homeopath, has been lifechanging for my cycles!
I'm so proud of you for discussing this on your platform. Any medical diagnosis is complicated and specific to the individual, but reproductive complications need to be talked about more openly, and it's thanks to people like you that this is becoming more and more normal. Sending lots of love and hugs to you and anyone battling with the same symptoms xoxo
Lydia I have a similar situation.. no weight gain or anything serious in finding but painful periods.. After lots of doctors dismissing my symptoms, I found a wonderful Holistic doctor who did specific adrenal testing via saliva and the blood work was detailed for hormones. I had to get tests done during luteal phase.. it was actually hypothyroidism!! No need for anti depressants or birth control.. actually a thyroid medicine has solved so much of my symptoms. The night sweats and the fatigue went away.. I highly highly recommend you try what I did! I'm grateful such a small change made such a large difference
Basically blood work stated I was not digesting the progesterone I was producing so it was in excess. Then once period came, I began an over production of estrogen. Thyroid medicine helps my body appropriately digest what hormones I produce? The more you know!
Lydia, I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have faith that you’ll get through this. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. If you’re looking for another resource, you may want to consider a book called Your Body in Balance written by Dr. Neal Barnard. Im sure you’ll find that cutting dairy out of your diet will be extremely beneficial!
It's been a while since I've watched your content. The title got me. I appreciate the open conversation about your cycle and looking into low tox products. I don't wear makeup day to day anymore. There are so many beautiful brands now compared to 13 years ago when I became plant-based. Enjoy to hear more on your journey. BTW my mum is your number 1 follower in New Zealand. Soon as your video is uploaded, mum has her cup of tea ready to watch ❤
Great, informative vlog! If you think about lifestyle changes to improve your mood and hormones, it's good to take a look on alcohol (wine) consumption. Nadia Anya have spoken about it for a little while now. I like wine and whole philosphy behind it, but it's still alcohol and it has really a big impact on our mind, sleep cycle and gut health. From time to time, for a special occasion - OK, however on a daily basis it's not worth it to risk our health, especially as a woman. Take care Lyd's!
Lydia, I've been going through a very similar situation (PMDD, very painful cramping during periods, and anemia). I too just found an amazing holistic gynecologist at a private clinic (prior to this I have had appointments with conventional doctors prescribing the pill on autopilot and not addressing any potential root cause, thank goodness I listened to my gut on this one as these pills can be a horrible treatment for so many). I'll be doing some blood test results to see if I have some hormonal imbalances, which we highly suspect as everything looked clear with the ultrasound. There are many holistic PMDD naturopaths and experts out there, luckily! With PMDD and cramping, I have noticed that the few times I had the least symptoms was when I was the happiest (and relaxed). Side note: I am amazed that you are consistent in your life/work and have achieved levels of success despite these symptoms, it gives me a little boost of inspiration. As always, thank you for opening up and sharing. PS 2: Great books on the topic: "The Optimized Woman", and Books by Alisa Vitti. I look forward to hearing more about your journey! Oh and natural skincare that has existed for decades is AnneMarie Borlind. I honestly love their foundation and have used their eyeliner, CC cream, palettes, lipstick, etc for years (Ilia is nice too). And I keep adding onto this but I've found that feeling my emotional judgement-free is helping a lot as everything we suppress the body expresses through pain, this is especially true with chronic conditions.
Lydia I have it too Adding B supplement - make sure it’s methylated, made the biggest difference in how I feel and liquid magnesium! Omgggg I feel like a different person
Lydia, I’m so happy to hear you getting checked up and getting help. I went from post partum depression to PMDD, and my doctor put me on a pure progesterone supplement. I think it saved my life. If you can ask your provider about it, it might be worth looking into ❤️ obviously not Recommending anything but it can’t hurt to ask.
Ultra Processed People is a brilliant book, hope you enjoy it as much as I did, a real eye opener. Good luck cutting out processed food, it’s a tough one but you can do it 💪🏼💪🏼
Thank you for being open about your journey with your PMDD diagnosis. I highly suggest I have it too, but I’m super overwhelmed on how to manage it. I do have some more health struggles which make it a little complicated to juggle everything. So I’m very happy to follow your journey and maybe find something to try to improve my quality of life and also just having comfort from seeing someone else talk about it. PS: for Sausage harnesses maybe look into the the Tough Trail Harness from Pawsome Paws Boutique. They tick all the boxes you are looking for and are very chic! Y-harnesses are also the best for shoulders and overall mobility/skeletal health.
Loved the discusion!!! Bravo! It's really important to shine a light on the fact that our bodies are not just for decoration. We are so complex and as women we are very sensitive to our environment, and that is ok. Anyway, I celebrate you for speaking about real life challenges!
Aw thank you for sharing all this with us, over the last year I've also been making lots of switches, particularly natural skincare / make up etc so I'm really excited to see you trying them and letting us know what you think.
@sophiemeads5243 Ultrasounds can show large clumps of tissue or scarring that are likely signs of endometriosis. Ultrasounds are very good at identifying endometriosis in your ovaries. But ultrasounds can't show tiny pieces of tissue which are the most common type of endometriosis.
I had stage 4 endometriosis and no ultra sound picked it up. The only thing that could be seen was a cyst on an ovary that did not go away. It was not until they actually went in surgically that they could see that my ovaries were caked with endometrial cysts. My ovaries were the size of baseballs and ultra sound and CT scans never picked it up. The endo was so bad that it had engulfed my entire abdominal cavity gluing my organs together. They had to remove all of my female organs. None of that showed. That is why ovarian cancer is so deadly. Scans and ultrasounds just are not reliable.
Lydia I love your transparency and believe you are doing a real service to women in sharing your story. Battles are often easier when shared for both parties. So it is very appreciated and I feel very important. I really enjoyed this vlog, it was so lovely. Oh on a gardening note, with your large bucket/tin pots you planted at the front of your greenhouse, do they have holes in the bottom? or do you find that as they are shallow rooting the the do ok without holes and dont rot, etc.
Lydia, Thank you for sharing and I hope you find remedies to alleviate your symptoms. I agree with your comments and also wish to go in the direction of non toxic and processed food products. We can all benefit from being kinder to our bodies and environment.
I LOVE that you’re talking about this, Lydia. Thank you so much! I really hope you find some answers as to what works for you. I struggled with this so much previously - I made similar lifestyle changes & used an app called Yukka to clean up my beauty/food habits. So many things are endocrine disrupters you wouldn’t believe!! Long story short I now have very regular, healthy & bearable periods. But obviously that’s just my story - everyone is different 😊 I know there are countless others out there experiencing the same thing & finding other ways 😊 Just wanted to pop in my experience. Sending love & healing energy to you 🤍🤍
After 16 years of tests and scans at Drs, hospital and gynae dept. I finally got diagnosed with PCOS just over a year ago when I went for fertility treatment. Just like you I’m not the typical PCOS patient as I’m size 4/6 and I always got told if I gain weight it will sort everything out. The diagnosis has finally given me peace of mind but can’t believe it took going for fertility treatment to get answers.
I can really recommend ‘perfect fit’ harnesses for sausages - they come in 3 pieces which can be customised to fit your dog perfectly - you can buy them online, or ideally visit a stockist who will fit it to your sausages there and then!
I was diagnosed with PMDD also. It started my whole healing journey! Funny I suspected you had the same symptoms. I got the L-Glutamine & Ashwagandha you recommend. I stopped using HRT. I stopped drinking coffee on an empty stomach first thing in morning. It’s all making a huge difference. Please keep sharing your journey!!! 🫶🏻🥰
Dear Lydia, I have those flowers that you bought in my garden in the ground if that is the correct way to say it, they are planted in the ground and they bloom every spring. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I am really enjoying the content from new Lydia xo
So glad you finally have answers...so many years of struggling during your cycle. Has always be difficult to watch you sidelined in symptoms. ~ I have that "heat" event too. Boiling, flushed plus light headed and dizzy for about 45 minutes when ovulating. Not matter when or what I am doing I have to stop, sit, or when driving, pull of the road and wait it out. Always hits at the most inconvenient time! I do hope you get everything equalized. AND I agree, female office ONLY. Those who go to the other team 😉deserve a major award. XO
Hi Lydia, love your videos! I have endometriosis and had triple positive hormonal breast cancer at 28. I thought I would mention it may be an idea to cut down on perfume, it massively disrupts your endocrine system and is so toxic. I can’t wear it without getting a migraine. Parabens or anything you wouldn’t want going into your bloodstream are good to avoid xx
Hey Lydia, not sure if you’re reading this but Tropic is an amazing, clean skincare brand! They also do a magnesium body butter and scrub and the candles. Definitely worth a try 🤗
Yes I love this pure brand too. Check out how Susie Ma started her brand. The elixir age defying omega oil is fabulous. I'm ordering the magnesium body butter thanks for the recommendation 😊 Rosie O from Devon.
Everyone is engaged in some kind of a battle. We never really know what people are battling. All we can do is treat ourselves with great kindness and extend that kindness to others. Thank you for taking care of yourself. You are precious to us. 💕💕
so true
It is sad you comment so much and in great length yet she cannot find the time to respond to you.
All the best with your health journey.
d3 drops and sea kelp, strong source of iodine too
So glad you’re feeling better 🤍 This is an awesome thing to hear!
@@seabreeze4559 nice tip, thanks!
@@TheRealMissAnxiety thank you 💗
Thank you for sharing- I came off my meditation and I’m struggling so badly with the mood swings right now 😔
Lydia, you are such a kind hearted and empathetic soul.
Sending you all my love! Your kindness when you personally are dealing with a diagnosis so difficult, is incredibly inspiring 🤍🌱
@@lydiamillen Thankyou 💕
Absolutely 👏 Im a lady living with cancer and say this to my friends quite often. Whatever it is it’s still something they are struggling with we should never compare.
Lydia doesn’t know this but many of times going through chemotherapy year after year she brings me so much joy watching her vlogs during those unpleasant moments.
I wonder how many women could finally go to there GP to talk about something they’ve had on their minds through watching Lydia vlog this evening🙏 xx
@@Lou7301. ❤
My mom has MS too. Sending you love and courage! 🤍😘
Warrior with you!! Stage 4 warrior!! Us ladies who TRULY have endo are true heroes xxxx
do you know any good books or websites that AREN'T wrong then?
what's excursion please? @@nakibaspencer2267
She has such a way of speaking to the camera as if we're lifelong friends chatting on facetime. Its qualities like this that keep such a core audience
So totally agree, she is just a doll of a girl we all wish lived down the street from us!🥰❤❤❤
So grateful for you 🤍
@@lydiamillen 🥰
Yes,it s a technique,you suppose to feel this way😉
Less is more ladies!♥
you are right!! in the last past months i discover esential oils, and i skip more and more product that have chemicals in them!!
Wow, I’m so happy for you. The high energy in itself is worth it. Take good care 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Just watching you guys potter around your house and do what you do is really nice to see. Very chilled, one of my favourite videos
So i can consume some things i couldnt before, however only in certain quantities, otherwise it floods my bucket 😂
Hope that helps. 🙏
I did this too and it was so sad. My memories smell great though! 😂
You’re 💯 correct on removing candles and perfumes! People don’t realize how toxic they are for women’s hormone health.
@StephL1111 Absolutely.
New ring is Gorgeous!
Me too, i would like to know about 😊
I was going to ask the same thing I see a new shiny engagement ring and band!
Hated those two ring guards she bought years ago... don't know why women feel need to more than an ERing & band (the symbolism of the two is an important reminder & memory.)
Good thing they aren't on your finger then. What a horrible thing to write
Thank you for sharing and opening the dialog. You are beautiful inside and out!
That comment about Clarkson’s Farm and the wasabi growing was great! I love that show. My absolute favorite. I’m stoked for the next season!
Loved seeing the gorgeous Lumi ❤ she always makes my heart melt with her beauty xx
so here for this!!!
Thanks!
Dear Lydia! Im so happy for you! Having an answer is a huge part of a solution. I hope you will find something to ease the pain soon. ❤
I didn't imagine I would be sending this vlog to my daughter at 40.00mins and say you need to watch this now! Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Love the honesty regarding context for your viewers.❤ and on a relaxed, fun thing, love the stylish tweed
Yes, raspberry leaf tea is amazing! I found Vitex berry very helpful for hormone balance too.
I found this information Fascinating. Thank you for sharing 😊
Wow, I bet you're right!
She actually did a video a couple of weeks ago regarding this.
I have Fibromyalgia and moving towards non toxic
products.
Thank you for sharing 🤍 You're changing lives by sharing these experiences :)
You’re such a beautiful thoughtful person lydia…. Long time fan of you (and Ali). Best of luck in your healrh journey xx
😊
Thank you for sharing and reveiling how vulnerable a girl can be
You surprise me lydia with your constant efforts to enlighten women with various important aspects.
@lalatte8294 Cancer isn't uterus. I understand her.
It's perfectly normal to have a male gynaecologist for those who feel a different way, of course.
Endometriosis can only be diagnosed by laparoscopy surgery. I have stage 4 endometriosis. I would recommend getting further tests if they think you could have endometriosis. Sending love x
Interesting. Hopefully she'll start feeling better in a couple months. If not then maybe definitely something to consider. ❤
Was going to say the same thing re a laparoscopy. I’ve had two now - for endometriosis and prior to starting IVF. Definitely worth it for diagnosis
I just LOVE how ALI compliments Lydia it’s such a beautiful thing when your partner really sees the beauty in his lady ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lydia I have it too
Adding B supplement - make sure it’s methylated, made the biggest difference in how I feel and liquid magnesium! Omgggg I feel like a different person
Water with salt and hot milk with nutmeg have no side effects but very effective.
Lydia, I’m so happy to hear you getting checked up and getting help. I went from post partum depression to PMDD, and my doctor put me on a pure progesterone supplement. I think it saved my life. If you can ask your provider about it, it might be worth looking into ❤️ obviously not
Recommending anything but it can’t hurt to ask.
Ultra Processed People is a brilliant book, hope you enjoy it as much as I did, a real eye opener. Good luck cutting out processed food, it’s a tough one but you can do it 💪🏼💪🏼
Needed this video right now too 🖤 going down the natural path currently for many reasons and I found this so beautiful and timely 🥹
Fragrances in candles, detergent, room spray, etc are a huge cause of hormone imbalances.
Your videos are amazing ... They are always so calming and lovely to watch.. Sending prayers and love to you.
Hi Lydia. They can’t diagnose endometriosis via ultrasound. It can only be diagnosed by laparoscopy x
@sophiemeads5243
Ultrasounds can show large clumps of tissue or scarring that are likely signs of endometriosis.
Thank you for being so transparent and beautiful. I love it!
Love your hair best with the GHD. It always make you look so refreshed
