    Love the large pop up command screen in the Corolla and the 2 tone interior. I own a 2n generation Prius and find I use it for hauling oversize items, the cargo space is really quite impressive, I can fit a twin bed in there. HUGE negative to my Prius: if the battery goes dead, the back hatch does not function, so I have to pull out the mat, the spare tire cover, and reach inside the trim area, fumble around for the latch to manually open the hatchback, while pushing up on it with my back, then put something on the latch mechanism to prevent it from latching again. This is a really weird design flaw in the vehicle which I hope has been corrected. Other than that, I love my little Prius. Thanks for the video, it was informative, was considering a Corolla hybrid but didn't know price differences and features. I don't imagine things have changed much in the last 2 years.

    I have a 2011 Prius, which I love. And I love the hatchback; I camp in mine often. What intrigues me about the new Prius is AWD. Does it have any higher ground clearance? I’m considering a RAV for that. Or you can now get Prius’ lifted. But what is clearance on the AWD?

    I've been driving a prius since 2007. I've had the 2006 Prius and 2011 Prius. I remember when I first got the prius in '07 and everyone was fascinated and didn't know what the heck it was and most commented that it looked like a space ship. Regular auto shop guys were confused and very curious. I had to instruct most people on it's basic functions. I think I'm ready for a different look with similar performance, low maintenance and dependability as the prius. I think the hybrid corolla is the way to go. Great comparison vid!

      Do you recommend that I buy the hybrid LE Corolla over the regular gas LE Corolla? I'm just worried that the battery or electric motor might malfunction or stop working. What if I don't drive much or don't drive the car for a few weeks, will the hybrid battery die on me?

    • @JonNobleNobelOne
      @JonNobleNobelOne 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Braeton Wilson yes the battery will degrade if left sitting for weeks at a time. Hybrids aren’t for everyone. The regular corolla will be a much better more reliable car with much less expensive components than the hybrid, in the long run. I’ve had multiple Toyota hybrids. After the battery degrades (around 200k+ miles) you are getting worse gas mileage than the standard Corolla, all with expensive hybrid components that can also fail. If any hybrid components do fail , you will lose any fuel savings for the next 1-2 years per component, as the repairs are very costly. Doesn’t make much Sense right?

    Which one handles better & is funner to drive? Which one has better sound deadening materials & has a quieter ride? I bet it's the hideous looking Prius!

    One offers more cargo other offers more style. For me it would be the Corolla over the Prius. Never been a fan of the looks of the Prius or the stigma that is attached to it. Plus my primary vehicle is a half ton truck if I need cargo I will just drive it, for commuting I will take the Corolla.

    I prefer Corolla Hybrid because it has a similar setup as my 2010 Corolla CE.

    I HATE the dash on the Prius, When I've driven one I found it really annoying and distracting and hard to read. It's a shame the Corolla Tourring hybrid wagon isn't offered in North America.

    I would buy the corolla simply because it isn't ugly but then remember that I'm too tall for a corolla

    Too bad you dont get 2.0 hybrid corolla option. Us in EU do, that makes prius less interesting option

    According to Toyota's website the Corolla has 13.2 gallon gas tank and the Prius has a 11.3.

    I like the Prius but for $3k more you can get the new RAV 4 Hybrid and 40 MPG with 8 inches of ground clearance.

      Yeah when you compare prices it's a pretty big price to pay, in Canada the difference between the Corolla hybrid and rav 4 hybrid is $7300 which to me is crazy.

    There's no Corolla hatchback hybrid to be found in Canada.
