      Apostle Paul?
Paul was beaten with the rods three times and stoned ones.
Paul was shipwreck three times, including one time where he was adrifted for whole night and a day.
Paul was in prison for over 5 years for preaching the gospel.
Paul faced danger from rivers, robbers, Jews, Gentiles, false Christians the City, country and sea.
      He experienced many sleepless nights.
He experienced hunger and thirst on many occasions.
      And cold and nakedness.

As Becket himself said, since the Fall we are all born with sinful impulses, and as Christians we have to fight them. Maybe we're not same-sex attracted, but we have bitterness and hatred in our lives or we long for power. Only the Holy Spirit can help us find true love and purity.

Was being straight the result of your life experiences? You and I would say we were born straight, and Cook would say he was not born straight.
Babies/small children are NOT born with sinful impulses. They have not yet learned to live within the coded behavior of a particular society or family and so do things which upset us or violate norms.

This guy, Becket Cook is AMAZING! Had seen just one of his podcasts, but never before an interview. Will just say, that as we do not yet know for sure just why some human beings are same-sex attracted, and it is a thing which has impacted our culture so very much - almost all of us know someone, often someone close to us, who identifies as "gay" (homosexual), so it is something we all have to face.... What sets Becket Cook apart from other Christian leaders (if you will) is his HONESTY, openness, a willingness to help those of us who do not nor ever shared that experience - or perhaps sometimes wonder about it all and wish to understand; he provides a way to set all of this in true perspective in light of the Gospel. Really, homosexuality is like any other sin, no worse, no better, and to say or think otherwise is prideful, a sin in and of itself. IF people like Becket Cook can help us understand, we can probably empathize, and thus help bring those so caught up in the lifestyle into the Kingdom of G-d as well. KUDOS! - to Mr. Cook, and to the RTB host here as well whose interview helps educate other believers. Keep it up guys!

Will say again, with additional info, homosexuality is like any other sex sin - all are what we are NOT supposed to do, period. We really do not understand just why some of us (albeit still a minority) experience this. G-d Himself, however, has MUCH more to say about the sun of adultery - more than any other sexual sin. Read your Bible..! Neither this fellow nor I excuse it, as I gather from his conversations, but it is mostly indelible, does not change…that is why I say we must not judge. Didn’t Jesus say something like that?!?

I suggest an expansion from the gay life/culture to the larger issue of sex. In 1990, years with HIV, my kids came home from school to tell me Planned Parenthood had been teaching in their room - condoms equaled safe sex. While HIV was a focus for condoms back then, it tied to "all things sexual." I became active in these issues, in opposition to the goals of Planned Parenthood. One women leading in this fight linked all sexual issues into an overarching unified message: sex is unitive for the purpose of binding husband/wife and creating life in the womb. All sex outside of God's purpose will be destructive: contraception, abortion, homosexuality, group sex, divorce. As one sexual sin gains traction, it morphs into acceptance of any and all use of sex for personal fun/pleasure. Babies are now unwanted and marriage is unnecessary. It's not a surprise to me that people "get to choose their gender" and that men who declare themselves women can compete as women in sports. Becket, I truly enjoy your shows! You have a natural talent for talking with people, helping them share their stories. Thank you!

The Bible says "have nothing to do with [sin] darkness, rather expose it." It says "do not welcome them into your home" who do not preach/live the truth of Christ. It says "a little yeast leavens the whole batch, get rid of the yeast." "Do not even eat with them." It says "purge the evil from among you." It says do not sit, stand or walk with sinners. My question is why don't true Christians obey these verses even when the sinner is their own son/daughter?

I don’t think parents who have gay children are ignoring the Bible. It’s one thing to accept and affirm their sin. It’s another thing to share the love of Christ with them. How will sinners ever know Christ if we don’t talk to them and show his grace and mercy to them, we don’t have to accept their sin. We don’t have to go to their gay marriages. But God does command us to love thy neighbor as I self.

    • @bmjjjja
      @bmjjjja 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@CS-fi2wx So in your mind, we get to question and even disagree with what we're reading in scripture because obviously we know better how to do this, right? Surely our way is the better way. Isn't that what you're saying? After all, how will sinners ever know Christ if we don't disobey the verses below?
Yes, that's snarky and meant to be to make a point., But this is not. Serious question. Why isn't this the best and most perfect way to "love" our own children (adult children) or any other "neighbor" walking in sin?
1Cor 5:9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people- 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
1Cor 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
2Cor 7:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
James 4:4 Don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
2John 1:10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.
Eph 5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
2Thes 3:14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed.
Ps 1:1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

But when I was a child gender neutral meant not saying that girls couldn't do x or y because they're a girl, or boys had to like army play etc. The stereotyping. I thought we were past that... I watched it twice all the way through and it made me sad. In high school, many decades ago, I was a typical dumbass who called people the F word and accused them of, you know, on a routine basis. But it wasn't until later when I moved to DC that I met actual gay people for the first time. How come they seemed just like me, concerned with paying the mortgage, getting to work on time, and looking for lasting relationships? It finally dawned on me that there was nothing threatening to my hetero world about their non-hetero relationships. If you as a Christian have an issue with gay marriage then don't go to the wedding. This too will pass though, because within my lifetime Catholics couldn't marry Protestants and black couldn't marry white. If you think Jesus doesn't approve of gay marriage, let him decide when everyone meets him eventually.

We have to - if they don't want to listen we leave them. But as a believer you CANNOT let someone wander into the Abyss willy nilly, you gotta at least try ONCE!

For reasons I won't go into here, I've known a lot of priests and nuns in an "off-duty" capacity shall we say. In candid moments one thing they virtually all admitted was how lonely the life of the celibate religious can be when everyone leaves the event or service with family, but they go back to their rooms alone. When I hear him say he's never lonely, I know he's trying to fool us or himself.

I don’t think he would lie or needs to lie. I’m sure he has many godly fulfilling friendships/relationships especially in his church.

@@lisahickey9153 I don't think priests and nuns would need to lie either, but of course they do sometimes as does Beckett Cook too sometimes of course. Good reply.

Maybe he's more popular. Also he has a big family.
If God convicted him of sin, he also would be convinced in his conscience if he lied

You sound like someone who believes that sexual intimacy is a necessity in life. Jesus Christ would rebuke you and say "get behind me Satan". There is no Bible rule (or non-Bible rule for that matter) that says all humans must get married so they won't be alone. God made Adam a wife and told them to "be fruitful and multiply" to start the human race. He (God) knows that not all people will have an opportunity to marry for various reasons. If you are a Christian and you are "in Christ" and the Holy Spirit of God dwells in you, then you are never alone. The Church is the family of God. Becket is not (at this time) attracted to females; so he will honor and glorify God in his singleness because Jesus is worth it. May we all want to glorify God in whatever state we are in while on this earth. Peace to you.

@@CarolSpen4000 You sound like someone who knows nothing about the Bible. Paul understood that very few people can achieve celibacy, because it goes against human instincts. That's why he wrote it's better to marry than to sin.

Yep. I cry when he talks about the Holy Spirit and his conversion by the Holy Spirit. It is an essential experience to the Christian life and reminds us of when we were saved.
