I just hope the pedestrians do a better job of respecting the bike path than they did on the brooklyn bridge before they installed the seperated bike lane.

You could see them walking on the bike lane already. It feels like they built the whole thing too small, but I can understand why they wanted to reduce cost since they had to build it over the water.

@@jamalgibson8139 I concur. The space on the Brooklyn Bridge was barely wide enough for people so of course they spilled over onto the bike lanes. It looks like there is more room to walk here so shouldn't be as much of an issue.

They need to paint it a visible green, similar to how it is done in Europe, so that everyone stays off them.

The Greenway is also amazing for us in North staten. The ferry gets you right to it. Making biking into and then around Manhattan the best option for north shore residents. Would love to see a real Greenway like promised in staten island soon not this bullshit shared street system around the mall

Very cool. My hunch is that this won’t be used as much as Hudson side though because it hugs the highway so much and leaves bikers breathing in so much auto exhaust fumes. Don’t you think?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Not to mention the noise.

Hope every cyclist has a bell or a voice to avoid all the pedestrians that inevitably spill into the bike lanes.

it would have been perfect if the first thing next to all these aren't massive streets...

I'm always amazed at the number of empty skulls who stagger along in clearly marked bike lanes RIGHT NEXT TO PEDESTRIAN PATHS.

It's a design problem. Too close, too narrow, too many reasons to want to go into the other lanes.
