Houston should connect uptown and downtown with 1000’ and higher skyscrapers and make a mega skyline. Houston has the potential to surpass Los Angeles and become the #2 city of the USA.

Hell yeah man, I've been dreaming of a NYC like skyline from Downtown to uptown since I was a little kid. It would be huge!

Duh man. We know it's not gonna happen. Keyword being "dreaming" it's cool to imagine it though.

Well it's never gonna happen so that's irrelevant honestly. No city in Texas will ever get as big as NYC or Chicago.

If Houston really put their minds to it, they can build at least a couple of 1,000ft skyscrapers in uptown. Don't y'all think?

Jaric Johnson - I remember back in either 1982 or 83 there were plans to build a 1,350 foot, 100 story tower right dead in the center of downtown. It had been greenlighted and they were just about to break ground, and then the big 80’s oil bust hit and it got scrapped at the last minute. It was going to be called “Bank of the Southwest Tower”. You can do a google image search and see many pics of it. It would have been the coolest thing to ever happen to the downtown Houston skyline. Just a gorgeous, majestic tower, and it would have been the same height as the Empire State Building, including a spire. I really wish they’d consider bringing that idea back.

Houston: The city of many skylines. On the Westpark Tollway exit ramp to get on 59 North, you get a really nice panoramic view on a clear day of Uptown, Downtown, the Med Center and NRG Stadium/Astrodome. I remember when some family visited and we were driving through galleria area and they all mentioned how big "downtown" was. Then I hopped on 59 towards actual downtown and they were like "wait...what?"

It's Houston's Version of L.A.s Century City Section, so Damn Nice in Uptown, Just Like Century City in L.A. they got the Upscale Galleria Mall in Uptown in Big "H', & Century City has the Upscale Century City Mall in which the Owner Westfield Went through a Billion Dollar Renovation the Last Couple Of Years.
But One Damn Thing Uptown Won't Have but Century City Will in L.A.is an Extension of L.A.'s Metro Purple Line Subway Extension From Downtown L.A. to Westwood V.A. Via Beverly Hills & Westwood/UCLA.
Houston had its Chance to Get a Subway, but the Republicans in Houston & Harris County Screwed that Chance in the 80's, & Screwed Up the Light Rail Extensions Today!
