Great that you could get hold of one and build it. Thanks for doing such a good review! Do you think there is any chance of Lego reversing their decision, perhaps if enough AFOLs petitioned them? It seems mad to get this far then cancel the model. I know people are concerned about militarising Lego or it being used for violence, but look at the Star Wars range, the movie tie-ins to Marvel, the Lego movies and even Lego castles and knights sets from decades ago! The V-22 is hardly a weapon of mass destruction and many Bell and Boeing products (probably the majority) are used for peaceable and even humanitarian purposes. Bad decision by Lego in my view.
I know right? LEGO literally made sets with nazis in it (indiana jones). Cancelling the V-22 this late is just madness. My name is pranav. I am in class 7 i live in bangalore, india. I like doing lego and I like seeing your channel, most like it when you show your pet hamster .the bell boeing v22 osprey 42113s , multi directional gearbox flaw is not because of the linear clutch gear the 8 tooth gears which transfer power from the motor to the upper section are stressed when the tilting mechanism reaches its end point. the clutch gear slips that slip is not enough to protect the 8t gears which are stressed from the load there are many ways to fix this. one is to stop the motor before the engine tilting function reaches its end point. another is to add black 12t small gears which can handle more load and are not stressed if the clutch gear slips when the tilting function reaches its end point. last is to add one more motor to control upper functions since the l motor included can be stressed at times. if this was not cancelled 130 usd is very good as this gets you 1636 parts a powered up battery box a c+ l motor a multi directional gearbox
Did lego issue a statement on this thing getting canceled? Why did they pull it from the shelves? Seems like the gear mechanism malfunction might be a big reason why, if not that, then what was it? Good review, but kinda sucks that we can't get it. And that also probably means the recolors aren't going to be easy to get either. :(
I really can’t believe it got all the way to production before they suddenly realised it was a “military aircraft” and that major fault with the gearbox. They need to either give up on the idea of no military sets (this could open up a massive range of rescue vehicles) and employ a new research team.
Anyone make a decent representation yet w/ existing parts (different color scheme perhaps?) & freezing the parts list & slowing down the speed build? Are the instructions available anywhere?
I don't know if lego explicitly said they retired the set because of the "controversy" but i really hope it's because of the flaw in the gearbox and that they'll release the set when it's corrected
I've already signed the petition that Lego should just release this set. I get that's the prototype is currently only used by the military, but that is not its fault. I'll probably try to build it from the now provided instructions. The QA issues are weird though. And given both the landing gear and rotor issue, it should have come with a stand. I like the new title screens, but not the animation effects on them. It looks a bit cheap, and it makes them hard to read.

My guess it that it's gonna be re-released with some design modifications, possibly minor color changes and without the licence at the start of 2021. If they don't re-release it, it's their loss and me who keeps his 140€.
Guess I'll have to to make do with set 31020
So unfortunate that most of us couldn't get this. It looks great
I’m never going to be able to afford this, but I suppose pretending your hands are mine will have to be a sufficient substitute. Nice video.
How’d u get this it’s been canceled?

Happy to see that your patatoe pc (even though mine is worse) rendered it in time. I hope next month will be a bit more normal. Cheers!
Very nice vid mate. Where did you get the new parts and spare lights? Thanks
They came with the set.
@@searme i see. How about the gearbox fix where can we buy it and how much? Thanks
Bricklink.com
Sariel's Bricks & Pets thanks mate!
A mix of 42025 and 42052 without b model. I already have these 2 sets and also 9396 that is a great set. In 2020 the only technic set I really like is lamborghini. And ducati panigale but only because I love sportbike
Which is the link to buy the parts?
bricklink.com
Did lego issue a statement on this thing getting canceled? Why did they pull it from the shelves? Seems like the gear mechanism malfunction might be a big reason why, if not that, then what was it?
Good review, but kinda sucks that we can't get it. And that also probably means the recolors aren't going to be easy to get either. :(
Yes, they did. Doesn't take much to find it.
value (is this set worth its price) : 5 stars
uhh... nop. no it's not. not if it costs way too much
Maybe he meant value if it wasn't recalled
@@موسى_7 Maybe but that wasn’t clear. He should have been more explicit given the circumstances.
great video, ilike thanks for sharing
I really can’t believe it got all the way to production before they suddenly realised it was a “military aircraft” and that major fault with the gearbox. They need to either give up on the idea of no military sets (this could open up a massive range of rescue vehicles) and employ a new research team.
Wait, thats why they Pulled this out??
@Lil doge Did you not see the official statement Sariel posted on Facebook?
Anyone make a decent representation yet w/ existing parts (different color scheme perhaps?) & freezing the parts list & slowing down the speed build? Are the instructions available anywhere?
Literally typing "lego 42113 instructions" into Google returns dozens of links. Try it.
I don't know if lego explicitly said they retired the set because of the "controversy" but i really hope it's because of the flaw in the gearbox and that they'll release the set when it's corrected
Yes, they explicitly said it, repeatedly, all over the Internet.
Sariel's Bricks & Pets Thanks, sorry i just didn't follow the story much before this video
I love the 42025, but wow it's not the best looking with it's stickers and white panels. This looks so much better. Too bad I can't get one. :(
They should do a Military version...
They didn’t release it literally because it’s an exclusive military aircraft.
Sir Maximus 😕Ah daaaang. Welp...it's MOC time!
I have a qestion for Mr Sariel:
What is your opinion about Polish edition of Lego Masters?
Considering that they kicked me out of it, I'd rather not comment.
@@searme fair enough😁
@@searme You got kicked out?? As in: forcefully removed, or as in: you got eliminated in the competition?
Udało się w Polsce kupić Ospreya? Wow. Ile ich jest w PL?
Nie.
why does it look like it has a control+hub down below?
Watch the video and you'll know.
@@searme now ik
Can’t wait to find instructions.
Look at this video's description, then.
Sariel's Bricks & Pets Awesome. Thanks.
I would give 0 star at the value. Scalpers just sky-rocketed the price of this set XD
I was expecting N/A for not applicable, since the set won't ever be available at retail prices.
Do you think the rumors about quality control causing the cancellation of the set are true?
I imagine if this was the case they would simply fix the set, not cancel it. This has happened before, e.g. with the Ideas Wall-E set.
@@searme This makes sense.
That petition is way too late and it's going to achieve exactly nothing, sorry.
I want the Pohatucopter so bad.
Thank you for nice review! 5 gears and 3 pin bar just costed somebody millions...
About reverse engineering: anybody understand that pastebin file posted on the Eurobrick forum?
Haven't they already made an osprey before?
No.
@@searme well that was quite a simple answer.
What if LEGO released this again as just a VTOL plane without the osprey branding. Just have a Boeing Aeroplane set. Or no branding at all.
Why this set is cancelled?????
Perfect question to use Google: www.military.com/off-duty/2020/07/28/reason-lego-cancelled-its-v-22-osprey-set.html
