Hello, It would be great if you continue to show more examples about the modular system, such as animation, adding abilities, widgets, effects, etc. Almost no one shows this with examples.
This will likely be a much better way for the marketplace to be set up. Most users will be able to work off of base projects with ideal set ups for a genre / platform type and then additional content could be built this way. vr development comes to mind immediately. Also games with mod support.
Important UE 5.0.3 note for "Creating a new Game Feature" section - you initially have to manually create the "Plugins/GameFeatures" folder first before creating the new plugin
Hey Varun! I do have plans on creating similar features found in popular games utilizing industry-standard methodology. That said, it will be a little while until that comes to fruition. I have a few Unreal Directive projects underway that I need to complete first that leads up to it!
Thanks for the videos this was really helpful! I had some assets in my level I wanted to put into a feature plugin, but since doing this I can't add any of the assets into my scene. When I click and drag from the feature plugin content directory, I get a warning that says "You may only reference assets from Engine Content and Project Content here". Any idea what I could be missing? I tried both with the plugin active and registered, I can't seem to place assets into my scene that exist in a feature plugin.
To allow Game Feature assets themselves to be usable in your scene, you'll have to setup a project rule specifically for that feature. To do so -- Editor Preferences -> Game -> Asset Referencing Policy -> Project Content -> Default Project Content Rule -> Can Reference These Domains -> New Element -> Select Game Feature Just be wary that disabling the Game Feature will cause referencing issues with the placed Game Feature assets.

Helpful video, but id really appreciate seeing a practical implementation and use for the system.

Great info, thank you! Could you make the volume louder? I almost cannot hear this video without the subtitles

So where is the data registry video promised? ;)
Calling me out, I see how it is! ;)
But don't worry, it's still on the to-do list!
hi, is there a way to load the Game Features Plugins without using the Execute Command Console function? good video by the way
How do you go back and add the components to the plugin after making it?
Do you know how to create custom game feature actions?
thank you Nathan Drake 😂👍
Dude you are talking slow even on 1.75
