My last phone number had previously been used by a scammer, and he continued giving it out to evade companies. I'd get calls from car rental companies, furniture places, payday loan places, etc. I actually started returning messages left for him to give them the heads-up about his track record. He was REALLY prolific in his schemes to defraud.

Now we subtract taxes and other such things and we are probably looking at around $980-$990 dollars at least. Now, I'm no math genius, but he's coming up awfully short of $3,000 dollars. Heck, you need to be at least making $32 an hour to even get close to $3,000. The math just ain't mathing up.
