    Love the look of the ingame map, especially the tracking tools and marking options

      I agree. After being an experienced player, playing with "GPS god" map" did not make sense. TMO mod fixed that.

    A breath of fresh air in wolf pack TH-cam tutorials.
    Precision teaching and clear to-the-point instructions. Couldn't ask for a better teacher!
    I'm gonna have to get back into wolf pack. But time is a luxury I cannot afford recently and as we all know, you need time to play wolfpack lol.
    Seriously though, excellent video and very well done on explaining an extremely intimidating role in wolf pack as a game.
    Especially to the mathematically inept like me. Lol.
    If you ever do any more tutorials involving the map I will happily watch them.

    To increase the height on the vertical distance table, you can also hold shift and scroll with the mouse wheel

      and you can increase by ten using the right/left arrows :)

      @@Subsim Speaking of that table, I somehow think it would make sense to change its scale a bit to make readings a bit easier. The scope barely goes past 150, so why's there values shown up to 250? Something like this with more granular increments in the mid-high range area would probably be more suitable:
      10, 12, 14, 16, 18
      20, 24, 28, 32, 36
      40, 44, 48, 52, 56
      60, 70, 80, 90, 100
      110, 120, 130, 140, 150
      Just a suggestion :)

    8:07 Instead of taking the bearing and plotting it relative, it's possible to just use heading directly taken from the lower gauge in the scope... :)
    8:53 Which means he should leave the dive planes neutral and take over the trim tank to hold depth
    11:52 Do that before entering AoB though as it changes with where you look at - just a minor error here though :)
    13:45 I like your wording of this... and please don't forget to ring the crash dive alarm while you're at it! :D
    14:29 I wonder if you got any chance actually if you do... I just don't dare to try it :D

      You are probably right, but for me it's much easier using relative, since I am on the u-boat, I know instinctively where 0 is, where 90 is, etc.

      @@Subsim True. For situational awareness it's definately better and you just have to switch the drawing tool to take that into account.

    So u estimated range at 2100m and said mast height was between 60 and 70 rime index 7:03 but it clearly shows 50 are you adding 10 to 20 for depth of keel?

    HF Type 44 would be my guess.
    Reason? It has the spiky fore mast and two other straight masts behind it. The "bridge" in the center and large funnel at the stern.

    Great Video, but I have still one question.
    Do I have to aim at the target with the periscope while I'm entering the values ​​or while I'm selecting what I'm targeting with?

      The tracking selector switch makes the direction of the periscope (attack, observation or UZO) linked to the AOB dial. So if you keep turning the scope the AOB dial should move with it. So when you make up your mind "this AOB angle is in view now!" then you release the periscope turn and stop keeping the target in the center. And adjust the AOB needle to what you came up with. After that you can turn the scope again which ever way you want. If you turn until the AOB dial points to 180 then you are looking in the direction of the target course. (as best as you guessed the AOB)
      Whenever you think, now is the time to fire the torpedo. You just aim at the point on the hull of the target where you want the torpedo to impact. Assuming the target speed and AOB was set correctly, (and range dial for a minor correction to the torpedo turn) then it should land there. Pointing to the middle of the target give the best margin of error for incorrect measurements.

      Hey buddy, tis me. It;s not too hard, once the basics are explained. Noticed I left out all the trig terms and formulas, that makes it less scary.

      Nah, SH4 is really old, I'm getting a much better experience with Wolfpack. Especially with a crew, it's great.
