  • Just one of our herbs. A very pleasant aroma and taste.
A very hardy perennial plant. This one is grown inside an old tyre.

Thank you Lynne. I guess it is what you said in your video, finding the best plants suited to seasonal conditions. Lots we like to grow, but not suited to our climate.
      Cheers guys.

Hi! I have this same plant, curry herb. I have it in a 10L bucket where is soil which is appropriate for chilis. I didn´t water it quite at all, but it began to dry out, making brown leaves. Then we had here in Spain a lot of rains and the bucket filled up with water for few days until I noticed it was full of water. But what I found was a lot of new fresh leaves and good growth! I was suprised and now I think that my curry (and also my rosemary) is kind of an abnormal individual cause it seems to like a lot of water...

Cassandra Langley...I cannot reply to your comment directly so hope you see this. You might have Murrayi Koenigii curry...the leaves are wider than this and they get white flowers that eventually turn into green and then black seeds. I think there are minimum five different types of Curry. There is a guy who lives close to me and I am in Vancouver, BC and he has a curry plant with smaller leaves and that plant is outdoors all year long and has leaves (more in summer, less in winter but always some) on it year round. If you have a knowledgeable garden shop nearby, you could see about getting different varieties

Thank you Monique. The one we have does have white flowers. Have heard about different varieties, but difficult to find them in nurseries around her. Not really well known as a herb here in Australia. The ones in your area, do they grow in ice, snow conditions, or more the indoor plant?
      Good information, much appreciated.
      Thank you.
      All the best.

I have a plant that looks exactly like this one, but the smell and taste are completely of sweet walnut, somewhat bitten when bitten. Could it be just a different variety?

I have the plant growing outside? How can I keep/preserve it for cooking? My house sucks for a counter or space with direct sunlight so I have to dry and store it.

    • @aussysurvival
      @aussysurvival  3 ปีที่แล้ว

They do grow very well in pots. Perhaps move the pots around, full sunlight areas elsewhere in the house.
      All the best.

This plant has a far milder taste than the tree variety.
      Thank you.

As far as my research it is the same plant. We bought ours as seedlings.
But suggest look on line for seeds, best prices.
      Thank you for watching.

The leaves can look a bit similar on some varieties, but it the defining smell that makes the difference between the two species.
