About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

I started a tea garden this year & planted chamomile, mint, spearmint, lavender, peppermint, sage, basil & rosmary. I don't ever want to have to buy tea again in the stores. I have a cup of chamomile every night before bed.
    Thanks for the video!

From Lil Giant Chamomile, in a lot of water, is great for colic in babies. The color should be very light because it is so watered down. Soothes the cramping, etc.

German chamomile is an annual plant that grows 6 to 26 inches tall has white flowers and starts to bloom when days reach 17hours long. Start inside between march and may and plant out after 8 weeks of growing inside. harvest july on and let selfseed for next year or repeat the process every year.

I planted chamomile, wormwood and bee balm this year. They are all growing well with little help!
As to the abundance of zucchini..I make pasta sauces with all the different types summer or winter squash. I dice the squash to small bits and put in a deep pan with melted butter. You can add minced onion and/or garlic if you wish. Cook at a very low temperature with a lid on and allow the squash to cook down to a fairly smooth consistency. I use a wand blender toward the end to get it ultra smooth. Add salt and spice to taste. This takes about half an hour or so. Serve over pasta shape you like best. For a richer flavor you can oven roast the vegetables ahead of time. Changes the flavor profile a lot more than one would expect for such a simple step. It is awesome!

This is the most delicious zucchini soup: 6-7 zucchini chopped with skin on, 1 small sweet onion chopped, 1 or 2 cloves of garlic, 1 large peeled potato chopped, salt, pepper to taste, hot pepper flakes to taste, ginger to taste. Easy to grow in your garden. 1/2 cup of half and half if you like, not necessary. 8 cups of water or vegetable broth, chicken, or bone broth. Or add a tablespoon of bouillon to the water if you like. Sauté onion, garlic, and pepper flakes in olive oil, add all the vegetables and water and simmer till soft or add to instant pot for 10 min on high. Use immersion blender or regular blender till smooth. Careful with regular blender not to overfill. Hot liquid can come out. Add the shaved ginger and stir in cream if you like. I don’t use cream and it’s delicious. You can sprinkle some shaved toasted almonds on top with a few drizzles a fresh olive oil.

Your channel saved my health. I was diagnosed with auto-immune. I learned how whole organic nutrient dense foods heal. Guys, you won’t believe how powerful food is. I was 2 weeks in and symptom free. Food heals!

Chamomile makes a great hydrosol. I use it as a facial toner. Calms redness and is excellent for sensitive skin.
