One place you might not have considered, but is absolutely one of the most beautiful is Cypress Mountain, right outside Vancouver. The Sky Chair views are literally second to none. From the city of Vancouver to the fjords of Howe Sound. It's a smaller resort but punches well above its weight in stunning views and sunsets.
Don't forget there are some decent peaks when looking to the NE. Howe Sound, Straight of Georgia, and a commanding view of all of Vancouver. You don't get more variety anywhere else!
As a former Olympic Venue it should always be considered, although I feel like it is still a missed opportunity with its lack of on-Mountain Resources and Transportation Options. There should be more of a village area and/or accommodations for it to realistically make it onto a list like this along with an expansion of its skiable footprint... but if you are traveling all the way to BC you go to WhistlerBlackcomb not Cypress/Grouse, which are essentially locals runs.

I was hoping you would put Lake Louise near the top, and am thrilled to see it took #1! It really is hard to imagine a more beautiful place. The mountains are just different in Banff. Canada is blessed to have some of the best skiing in the world, and I hope everyone gets the chance to experience it someday. Glad you appreciate it as much as you do!
My wife and honeymooned in Banff. We skied Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. Best trip of our lives. I do agree with Lake Louise taking the number 1 spot. Sunshine Village has some truly stunning views too. I definitely want to go back to this zone. Kicking Horse is high on the list. We're heading to Revelstoke in February.
Great list. I like yours statement, skiing these mountains is like sightseeing with skiing on the side. I think this is why I love skiing so much. Any ski mountain is a beautiful experience. I haven't been to all on the list but I definitely agree with Homewood, Heavenly, Vail, Alta, and Whistler and cant wait to get to the rest.
The 2 Banff resorts on the list are fantastic as is the town of Banff. Hope you make it there one day. Not on the list, the smaller ski resort in Banff, Mt. Norquay also has some absurd views.
Blown away by the props to Le Massif. I was wondering if you were gonna do an East Coast resort and figured we'd be lucky if you listed Wildcat or Bretton, but Le Massif is hands down the most beautiful East Coast mountain with the best snow (haven't skied Jay yet). Being less than an hour from Quebec City doesn't hurt. Gives me vibes of my favorite mountain higher on your list, Heavenly. Nice work!
Palisades deserves at least 5th place if you are going to put Heavenly at 6th and Homewood at 3rd. Very beautiful mountains with diverse terrain and stunning views. Also, it provides ANOTHER viewpoint of Lake Tahoe.
I've only been out West a few times so I can't really speak about it. But for the East Coast I think the best views are at Sugarbush, VT. The quaint New England countryside is beautiful and the Adirondacks rising over Lake Champlain are absolutely majestic.
Aussie skier here skied Vail, Kicking Horse , Lake Louise and Whistler can vouch for the top 2 although I’d switch them around : Kicking Horse is beautiful but also epic bowls and short lift queues. Got caught up in cold snap at KH and it was brutal plus they closed the resort . Best value accommodation as well
After the Ayleska video, this seems like a natural follow up. In the PNW, Crystal has the best view, looking up at Rainier, that two other PNW resorts made this list but not Crystal makes me question the validity.
This was my favorite vid of yours. Good job. One view that is quite stunning which surprised me the first time I skied there is from the top of Aspen Highlands. Too small of a resort to include on this list but if you’ve never been there I highly recommend it for a day or two. It’s much smaller than Snowmass but the views are spectacular on bluebird days. Also your pass is good at all 4 of Aspen’s mountains - Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass, Buttermilk. Or at least used to be.
I love to see Mt Bachelor on the list! Not the absolute best (fully understand others being higher up) but it's still beautiful :) After leaving Oregon, I understand a lift open so infrequently is abnormal.
So I feel like Sam nailed this list and I wouldn’t even argue the order. However, no crystal mountain on this list makes me wonder if Sam has been there? I have only been there in summer and I would argue that’s the best top of the mountain in the US. I’m from Utah and couldn’t put any top of the mountain above crystal mountain gondola.
I'm a multi-year Alta season pass holder (just got back from there), and I think Snowbird's scenery is better. And the snow is just as good, at any given elevation. (Snowbird goes down lower.)
I will forever maintain that Eaglecrest AK is the best in NA for views. You literally have the ocean all around you, with everything else Alyeska offers. Glaciers, wilderness, etc....
Woo, Lake Louise! Wait, where on the mountain is 17:00 showing?? I don't recognize that spot at all, weird I've gotta say, the views at Norquay are seriously underrated; looking down at the town of Banff and Rundle from the top of big chair is my favourite spot at the Banff hills
not Aspen with Maroon Bells as the backdrop? Snowbasin also dramatic peaks and monster sized city views looking clear into Idaho and Nevada on clear days. Brian Head in Utah on clear days can see into 3 national parks and peaks hundreds of miles away across high deserts.
All the mountains out in Banff have amazing views, 360 degrees. Funny moment at Mt. Norquay when my friend said something about the view being great and I agreed; then realized we were looking in completely opposite directions
Hard to argue with these choices. My experience was back in the "olden days" when things were less built up. My favorite views: Aspen Highlands (Ajax is pretty great, too). I'd take Vail off the list. Great skiing, not the jaw dropping scenery.
While not a destination by any standards, Mt Baldy in Southern California has both views of the high desert as well the Pacific Ocean. It’s a unique not-so-isolated but very special vibe.
10:47 there's a ~4km ski out trail at Sunshine Village that you can ski from the main base area to the parking lot, so you don't have to take the gondola to leave
It’s a fun way to end the day but I once saw a poor lady go off the side of the ski-out road to the base! She was ok but very embarrassed by the effort a few of us had to make to get back up to the road!
I like getting a good view while skiing, but wish this video just included that as one category, while also considering terrain, price, traffic, parking, lift lines, and overall experience. Just as an example, Alyeska is great and all, but #3 in North America?
Tell me you have the Ikon pass without TELLING me you have the Ikon Pass 😀The thing about the interior BC resorts is you might not see farther than 100 yards in an entire 5 day ski trip. Agree with a lot of this list but Vail wouldn't even be in my CO top 5 for views. Crested Butte not being on the list is criminal lol. The view of the Elks and the Ruby's and the East and Slate River valleys in the snow is Bananas.

I’ve skied all of these except homewood (RIP), sunshine, le massif and Alyeska. I’d also put lake louise at #1. There’s no contest for the top spot. The rest are more subjective. I had never been to Telluride before this year, and spent a day in the city in early July and in late September. I was completely blown away with its beauty in July with everything green, the waterfalls, and the towering peaks. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to.
I was wondering if you’d include Lake Louise. Not surprised it’s #1. The prettiest resort I’ve been to is Heavenly. What comes to my mind as #2 is Winter Park on top of the Panaramic. You can take a short hike, not for skiing, just viewing, maybe up 50 ft, to get an amazing 360 view. The view from the top of Big Burn in Snowmass is very nice. Brighton has a couple of beautiful views, one from the Great Western lift and the other looking off the backside of Snake down to Midway. I’d have put Brighton above Alta and Snowbird, but all the Salt Lake and Park City resorts have beautiful views. Deer Valley has some great views of Jordenelle reservoir, and also from the Silver Lake Express if you take it going back, you can see all of Park City.
Great list. I've only been to 2 of them 😢. Sundance isn't a destination resort, but views of Timp should earn it honorable mention. Was expecting to see Crystal.

I might add Castle Mountain in south western Alberta has some spectacular traverses with views that extent all the way out to the prairies. Alberta’s secret gem.
Alta looks so different from when I skied there as a kid. So many trees are gone due to western pine beetle and another dozen disease and insect vectors.
I don't think Bachelor is all that scenic. In fact, the Oregon cascades are far less scenic than the Sierra and most of the Rockies. North Cascades are a different story altogether.
Like your channel but you were off base on Heavenly on this one. There are no bristlecone pines at Heavenly, In fact, the closest are in the White Mountains 170 miles south. The wind blown trees at the top of Heavenly are primarily whitebark pine. Also, the Nevada side looks down into Carson Valley and Eagle Valley. Washoe Valley is much further north.
I've skied at 14 of the 15 (Panorama remains on my "to do" list), and I agree with most of the choices, but I have to take issue with some of the omissions. In particular, leaving Aspen Highland's views of Maroon Bells off the list is ridiculous. It could easily be Number One (and I do not have any particular love for that region). The ski ghosts on top of Big Mountain in Whitefish are spectacular. Jasper is not mentioned, nor is the fact that Whistler-Blackcomb is marred by rain and fog a great deal of the time and getting worse. Including the adjoining Snowbird and Alta as two separate entries but leaving out Solitude (and snow Basin, for that matter) is just silly. Taos deserves a spot, as does Alpental-- or Crystal, with its stunning views of Rainier,. Then there's the unique and breathtaking Tuckerman Ravine on the flank of New Hampshire's Mount Washington. All in all, this list is a Canadian-centric view of a much wider universe of sights than the compilers have experienced in North America. Moreover, don't limit yourselves to any one list, or to any one continent. The western Alps, Mount Cook, Hokkaido (Mt Yotei), Narvik, Portillo, Gulmarg and a hundred other ski mountains around the world deserve notice for their astonishing beauty-- as long as the snow lasts on this warming planet of ours. I've not been to Bariloche, which I hear is magnificent. So much still to do. :)
I've been to most on this list. Missed one or two. For those complaining about Alta/no snowboards, get a monoski, Never a problem except for grumpy old men. Back side of Whistler looking into the park is stunning, but no pictures on this video.
This must be based on views. Alot of these resorts dont provide great snow at all in my opinion. Lake louise can be dry most years, even good years arent great becuase most of the terrain is south facing. Sunshine in my opinion would have the best combination of views and snow for the cost. The best snow in my opinion will always be Revelstoke BC. Its usually cloudy and views arent great. But the snow makes up for it. Another hidden gem is Red Mountain. Enjoy

Lake Louise #1 💯
PLEASE visit the Dolomites and do the Sellaronda loop
I’ve done the circuit. It would be #1 if in North America
Sad to see vail made it on the list but araphoe basin or copper didn’t
Can’t wait for the skier only resort to open up at mt shuksan 🔥🔥

You’re gonna wait a long time. Shuksan is all wilderness area
Can’t believe powder ridge in Connecticut isn’t on this.
If visiting Mount Baker, use chains or studs! Too many crash off the side if they don’t!
Not sure why Vail is not on a list
No Snowbasin???
IMO Lake Louise & Snowbird are the two most beautiful ski resorts in North America
10/18 for me, not so bad, though I'm not sure I agree with your #1 but I guess I might not have been there on a clear day.
For anyone curious, 1140 inches is 95 feet or 29 meters.
Big Sky #1
i rode Yellowstone Club first week of December. It was nice, but not "exceptional." Whistler is higher quality than this one.
No night ski resorts?
There’s something beautiful about doing it under the lights!!
The most scenic thing about Big Sky is Yeti dogs
