Love your videos. You can remove the hatch glass window tint with ammonia. The smell may take your breath away, but it practically dissolves the adhesive. Spray it on liberally, let it set a minute and peel off the film. Spray any left over adhesive that's on the glass with the ammonia again, let it set a minute and use an old rag to wipe it off. Bought a 280ZX once with old window tint and this method worked great.
Armor king kits are awesome. Super easy (albeit time consuming) to do. It’s all in the prep. I did my wife’s large SUV and had almost half a bottle left over. So I ceramic coated.... everything in our house. The dog hasn’t ate in days..... he can’t grab traction on the floor cause I also ceramic coated that. Maybe a rubber mat will help the pup
I definitely need to invest in one of those rubber wheels. I need to finish getting the adhesive off my 95 Miata. I just got home from a night time cruise and getting caught up on some videos.
Good trick for removing tint- soak the window in a product called fantastic (basic kitchen cleaner) apply a garbage bag to the rear window while it’s wet, reapply every few hours and make sure the car sit directly in the sun.... it will help release the tint that’s delaminated a bit.
I have never flipped a Porsche. Sometimes the big money is in the cheap stuff! Well from my experience anyway! Love the vid! You are half the reason I started a youtube channel!
Awesome content man. This car is looking awesome. You didn’t mention it but aren’t you meant to let the ceramic coat cure for a couple of days/or use infrared heaters to cure it before getting water on it?
Hey JR, did you know you can Targa-Lite the sunroof on that car? Found a vid here (no affiliation to it) that goes through the process of removing the roof on early and late electric roof 944!
JR: You are a god-like genius when it comes to mechanicals but paint repair and correction OMG.....not so much. PDR the dents; ALWAYS mask off with drop cloths when using spray paint; order factory-match paint from Dr. ColorChip for nicks; in spray cans from PaintScratch for larger areas. For removing glued-on trim use Goo-Gone with fishing line or dental floss NEVER metal guitar string....Interior: Dash cap $125; Factory correct seat covers from World Upholstery in CA.
Wonder if there is anything to spray and soak that rear tint to make it easier for the tint guys to remove it without damaging the defroster.. maybe a little each day until you take it in
Heat Gun and MEK would have worked much faster. But you are doing all the right things for the car. To get the tint off the back hatch, use a hair dryer.. For the loose rear bumper strip get 3M two sided tape from a body shop
Try cheap vodka as a substitute for the rubbing alcohol. I've used ultra cheap vodka to clean printed circuit boards when rubbing alcohol is not available.
Hey JR, awesome series with this car. Understand you do not want to paint it but can any of your sponsers throw in a free wrap? You put some good work into that car and I think it would look great with a new color. Anyway, keep up the great work!
If I could help Watch JR Goes install the Avalon Kings on the Porsche 944 I would drink the cold Bartle Skeets and puff on the Cannabis Cigar and get all schmoked up.
Good video I been thinking about coppin your apparel I was thinking of a suggestion for your apparel do you make hoodies winter coming and idea for a shirt idk if you have done this but I just recently got really interested in your channel I've watched it tho in the past alot but since I quit my job I've been on TH-cam more anyways I thought maybe what if you put a good pic of a car you got alot of likes and comments on a video you did curious to kno what car you might flip or whatever next I'd like to see a buick roadmaster flip

Sydney Stone great suggestion!
It's gotta be worth at least $510.00 now.
I want his Fiat for $500
Hell yeah, I'd buy that for $510
PDR those dents...please!
Benjamin Wagner
Seriously! Spending all tgis time anx effort and NOT minimizing the dent is head assery!
Im screaming at my phone this right now lol
‼️‼️ I can’t stop looking at it!
Yes, PLEASE!
Are you going to push those dents out on rear left of the car?
Yeah! Time to find a PDR sponsor!
He's already mentioned PDR in the video.
Priorities! Need to polish it before fixing the dents
Definitely need to clay bar mine and do this! Great work, the paint looks great especially considering how it was rotting in a field not long ago!
Yessssss more Porsche content!
"Not like this one"... Seems Like a good shirt logo.
One thing I love about Porsches - they make the most beautiful flared fenders in the business. None of that stupid afterthought stuff.
I am manager at a local detail shop, we do full ceramic and graphine coatings vehicles love your stuff....keep on keeping on
Maybe you can refresh my exhaust

All it needs now is a Le Bra and it would look awesome!

You can use the ceramic coat in the black parts(plastics) too... It will look like new!
I remember seeing ceramic coating the first year at SEMA. It was (*in my mind) the new product of the year among ALL the vendors at SEMA
nice work, though you could do with using Safety Glasses when using power tools, you cannot replace those eyes.
I have a whole bunch of them. I’ll drop some off for him tomorrow so he won’t have an excuse.
That back window needs some attention.
it does

Looks great! What a difference from the day you rescued that car from almost certain doom.
acetone will remove the glue from the moldeing. I used it on my Jeep
you said "we" a lot but introduced everyone but Josh. Com'on! isn't it his garage?!?
And ordered. Thanks for the 35% off. My JCW will thank you.
Mason Seigerman you’ll thank yourself as well!
I definitely need to invest in one of those rubber wheels. I need to finish getting the adhesive off my 95 Miata. I just got home from a night time cruise and getting caught up on some videos.
You need a shirt that has your logo and says, "you need cool merch like this" on it! LOL
But make it where you still can't buy it at his store.
Why did he remove the moldings , it looked fine!
That's what I thought! Only 924s came without moldings. All 944s had them. It's going to be a bitch finding them if you want to keep it authentic.
Actually the rubber moldings looked pretty crappy. Looks better without them.
Good trick for removing tint- soak the window in a product called fantastic (basic kitchen cleaner) apply a garbage bag to the rear window while it’s wet, reapply every few hours and make sure the car sit directly in the sun.... it will help release the tint that’s delaminated a bit.
My favorite car you had so far on your channel, love from the Netherlands!
Time to drop a 3800 in a Fiero !
Not to ask a stupid question but why didnt you remove the molding and fender protectors *before* the detail job ?
You know you can use ceramic coat on the plastics on the outside of the car it helps restore the colour and protect them
I have seen people use fishing string to remove moldings but never guitar string. Great idea!
You can also use the amor shield on your black trim and spoiler. It blackened them great
I have to install those moldings on a door. How do they go on the doors? Theres little tabs on the end of the moldings so what should I do?
I have never flipped a Porsche. Sometimes the big money is in the cheap stuff! Well from my experience anyway! Love the vid! You are half the reason I started a youtube channel!
are you not doing the bubbled tint in on the rear door
9:08 Government work. When one works, the others watch.
Plus turbo to make it 951 look alike?
T-shirt idea: Something about hood struts and a play on words to go with it.
"I've replaced enough hood struts to know what happens next."
or something like that
what are you gonna do with the 944 when its all done?
Did you try the heat gun on the side molding?
swap the automatic for the 5 speed instead
or a 6 speed 200mph gearbox....
rennlist.com/forums/968-forum/593593-a-few-upgrades-for-the-968-a-53.html
Did you try a heat gun for the trim?
Gotta get some of that Avalon King 👌🏻
gonna try the Ceramic - thanks for code!
What are you going to do with the scruffy black rubber spoiler?
Any reason you didn’t use the wheel on the stone guards? That’s next on my list and read the wheel could be used on it.
I was just about to comment about getting some PDR action on that rear fender and then you mentioned PDR... Looks good 👍
Awesome content man. This car is looking awesome. You didn’t mention it but aren’t you meant to let the ceramic coat cure for a couple of days/or use infrared heaters to cure it before getting water on it?
It's more like a ceramic "watch party" while JR does all the work! :)
I was just about to ask about the Civic hybrid too and it's at the end of the video! 👍🏼
You make this car look better and better.
Try acetone on the adhesive.
always works, just have to be careful with paint finish.
I just used Avalon king on my Honda Clarity, looks super nice, interested to see how it holds up. Thanks got the promo code
Nice car! But why ceramic coat it when the paint is already trashed?
Maybe because they sponsor him🤔
Little tip on the drill it works better slow cause moving it faster doesn’t let it bite good
"Cool shirts, not like this one"
Where you remove the side mouldings put a black stripe 😀
I love this little car. Maybe a T shirt with the 944 on it. That would be nice.
So why did you actually remove the door strips?
Weird. Why would you prep and ceramic coat before PDR?
Where can I buy that Ceramic Coating ? Please provide a link
How much did that tiny little battery cost for the Honda?
Rolls Smoke Shirt, Porsche Shirt, Ford Truck Shirt, and the Ambergini Samurai Shirt!
Hey JR, did you know you can Targa-Lite the sunroof on that car? Found a vid here (no affiliation to it) that goes through the process of removing the roof on early and late electric roof 944!
Doh! th-cam.com/video/uUpiLSVkT94/w-d-xo.html
What heppen to Amberghini?
Where do sell your cars when finished ? I'm into the 944 .
JR: You are a god-like genius when it comes to mechanicals but paint repair and correction OMG.....not so much. Those side mouldings are OEM Porsche, not a dealer option or some junk sold at Autozone. Fixing the loose one would have been a far better solution!
Wonder if there is anything to spray and soak that rear tint to make it easier for the tint guys to remove it without damaging the defroster.. maybe a little each day until you take it in
If you use eraser wheel going long way it removes that crap easier. Xylene can help remove PPF glue.
Not a good idea: Painting black trim onto a door panel with overspray going onto a white body car
I don't know what state you're in but Hydroponics shops have alcohol in bulk for future reference, just bought some last week.
Great video as usual great find on the old girl what would you sell her for Ive been looking for a 80$ Porsche project Im super glad you saved her
Heat Gun and MEK would have worked much faster. But you are doing all the right things for the car. To get the tint off the back hatch, use a hair dryer.. For the loose rear bumper strip get 3M two sided tape from a body shop
Do you plan on repairing the bumper?
I love how he's just shooting black over spray on the fresh detail job
Pretty great results. Looks nice but wish it was a turbo manual trans. Those were never unloved I guess.
Try cheap vodka as a substitute for the rubbing alcohol. I've used ultra cheap vodka to clean printed circuit boards when rubbing alcohol is not available.
Cheers mate.
What about wrapping it?
You can apply the ceramic coating on the plastic wings. Return the black
Hey JR, awesome series with this car. Understand you do not want to paint it but can any of your sponsers throw in a free wrap? You put some good work into that car and I think it would look great with a new color. Anyway, keep up the great work!
Josh has an alternate career path at an upscale nail salon.
If I could help Watch JR Goes install the Avalon Kings on the Porsche 944 I would drink the cold Bartle Skeets and puff on the Cannabis Cigar and get all schmoked up.
Where have you been!!!! Thought you might be gone for good.
Lmao what great friends watch you do the whole car
Jerold Breazeale because he didn’t trust them to do as good of a job while adding $5000 to the value.
he only had one applicator. Don’t worry i got to do tons of removal buffing
Rear window tint coming off next?
PDR Yesssssssssssz!
Heat Gun to remove mouldings, rubber glue etc
Also great for bringing unpainted bumpers etc back to factory finish.
i've been looking at 944's for a while, id love to buy it from you and repaint it when you are done with it on the youtube Chanel
You should do the ceramic coating on the trim/spoiler as well. Makes it look like new again ;)
how long before you go V8?
what a great job you've done. This thing looks incredible for a $500 car. I would buy it for $5k or more.
Can you use vodka if you don’t have rubbing alcohol?
Or wrap it
How did you get home from the junkyard
Use that 303 aerospace rubber rejuvenator for the rear wing.
Maroon shirt with camo "wrap" graphics
Oh no no ....TH-cam would ban his channel for
Violating community standards if he did that.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! Saved 25$ to bad they dont have intl shipping to the Philippines
The stone chip guard and the adhesive can be peeled off easier had you used a heat gun to soften it, I think. Careful though to not melt the paint.
Looking at the 944 I think it would look good with a blacked out A pillar.
Giant dents : Exists
Jr : Ceramic coat time
Ceramic coating TH-cam videos are all about affiliate links
when you put the remover on nest time try taping plastic over it so it does not evaporate so fast , just an idea
