  • Jeremiah Sirles, Alex Boone and Phil Mackey take a look at DeMeco Ryans' re-energized Houston Texans defense! They've jumped up into the NFL's top 10 scoring defenses. Although they allowed over 400 yards to Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints in Week 6, the Texans put together several huge stops when the game was on the line!

    Being a Texans fan. There is a lot of talk about our running game. Could you explain the difference between a lower running scheme and a ZBS, different O Linemen for each scheme and different RBs etc.

      Would love to see this. I also wonder how much of an ask would it be on the players if they were asked to switch it up between backs. Motor definitely plays to his strengths in a one cut kind of scheme, seems to have better vision than DP for that scheme. I wish we were seeing more angry runs from Pierce. He's so damn good at it.

    Simply put Will Anderson is A game wrecker even with out the sacks he affects the game on every down and distance

      @ericparker163 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely. Sack totals definitely don't come near telling the whole story. He's running Qb right into sacks and pressure a lot. Also great as a run defender. He's just getting started, feels that way for basically the whole team. This era of Texans football is going to be amazing.

    Your film reviews are just great - Thanks! Is there anyway you'd consider looking into Packer's running game? Their O-line was supposed to be a strength and the run game was supposed to help Jordan Love. Even with Bakhtiari out they still have some nice players, but their run game is ... terrible? Even at the Broncos with a really bad run defense they could barely scrape something together ... Is it the players, the RBs, the coaching, ... what?

    Can you take a look at the Steelers OLine? I saw a lot of protection calls being missed against the Rams. Is the center missing calls or do you think it’s the scheme/coaching?

      What of it? Get good pressure with a good dline that is deep and Pass protection is really good and Cashman is a tackle machine

      8th in the league in points per game. No better indicator on the quality of a defense than point allowed.

    Someone tell Bobby slowick to Learn to understand momentum shift and stop running the ball when you see the other team figure out the run game....and stop fucking running the ball on 2nd and long!!
    So many run plays that go fucking no where or lose yards to give cj less and less opportunities to make a play

      The whole system is built on play action. They have to believe you will run or the system doesn't work. It's just the Shanahan system. It also keeps from being g all of the pressure on a rookie qb. Give him time with a cohesive o lone and we can really see the full system

      Cmon man, this is a great season and Slowik is a rookie too. It's gonna all come together. No one was thinking Texana would be coming off their bye at .500. We've all been waiting years to see football of this caliber. Enjoy the ride.

      If you don't run the ball on 2nd down you'll never run the ball 😂

    Great breakdown guys. So many nuances to o-line and d-line play go right over my head. I am glad to have someone to break it down to laymen.

    DFQ: How effective is trash talking? Can a guy like the legendary John Randle really get in someone’s head and gain an advantage?
    Also, on average, how many times a year does the typical offensive lineman clog up a toilet? All the calories and protein you guys pump through your 315 lb. bodies has got to wreak havoc on locker room plumbing.
