I was about to say you were lucky, but thinking about it, you got given the opportunity but you must have impressed this designer so much through out the day that she decided to scrap her while application and hiring situation to hire you. You aren’t lucky, you just deserved it
This is very true and I think what she liked was how passionate I am about fashion, I feel like she caught a sense of it. Also, me getting the internship can be attributed to me being sociable and being able to start up a conversation when I saw the fashion magazines.
What I learned from this video is that knowledge is very important because i believe that's the reason you got your internship when you could actually talk to the designer about the industry. Time to hit the fashion books boys
Very inspiring. Im 39 and even tho Ive always read and studied fashion, Ive been working as a sales assistant for the last 9 years. I want to quit because Sales is not my passion not my interest, and find my place in the fashion industry as creative. Could you please make a video talking about the industry now post quarentine and the different activities that one could do? We see more online focus, but is it possible for somebody over 30?
Hey there! This is lovely to hear! I bet it was a great experience! Thank you for the great content in your channel, this is helpful to me especially I'm taking up fashion design and merchandising as my major.
I love this content, but if you were able to structure the videos and make it more segmented I’d love that. I get the conversational tone and the fact that you as well as other other like that. I find it scattered. Fully know it’s my opinion. Love your channel tho. :)
Crazy u come out with a video discussing demographics when it comes to who a fashion brand wants to market to and that’s what I’m learning in class this week
Any new book recos for learning about fashion? Defo interested but want to truly dive in like you have and be able to have deep conversations about fashion
If you really want to delve in deep, check out Benjamin’s “the work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction” & Clement Greenberg’s “Modernist Painting.” Not sure if you’ve asked before but I can also send you some PDFs that are autobiographies of some designers if you send me your email.
Any recommendations for companies to keep an eye out for that might be offering full time entry level jobs? Just left sixth form and am looking to move back to london asap for a fashion related job. Currently only applied to be a pricing assistant at Browns. wish i still lived in london so i could get an internship instead :(
I wish I could help and normally j have recommendations but with the COVID 19 situation, most brands aren’t taking interns for the foreseeable future which is really sad
Are fashion designers or interns expected to make/cut patterns and sew the garments ? I would love if u can tell me more on the kind of work expected from fashion designers as employee.
It really depends on what type of internship it is but if it’s a design internship you most definitely need to be able to make patterns and at least sew to a semi basic level.

Do you need a fashion related degree to do an internship in the fashion industry ?
You most certainly don’t

How long was the internship?
4 months. 2 months in the 2017 summer and two months in the 2018 summer
How can i get same internship?? Can we talk ?
You: More mature people, like late 20s to 50s
Me, a 27 year old woman: SHOOK
LOL
Did you study fashion??
Im really curious since I don’t know if I could get an internship because I study business://
I didn’t study fashion, I got my internships via networking. Never even applied to an internship.
Well damn
where can i get a hoodie with no drawstrings like that?
La apparel has good ones
Mine is custom so I actually don’t know but try what Shaina suggested
what is your education?
What 3 people disliked this😭
Some people love to hate haha
I reckon she fancied you ;) 😂
