www.valuemystuff.com this video looks at establishing the age of an antique chair at the antiques workshop Savino del Prete. Looking at the antique markings, design and its build.
If you see screws you know the chair is not old, but if you see screws and pegs you can guess it is old. As some do repairs with screws instead of pegs which can throw you off as to the date. I found a chair by the side of the road, and I knew immediately it was around 1689 - 1750 English made fully pegged. The feet were removable and in a very bad state. I will soak the feet in anti-freeze to remove bug infestation, and then let them dry before using my dental tools to clean and repair said feet. The paw feet still shows marks of a hairy beast commonly found in early chairs. I had the chair looked at by an antique dealer who claimed I had an early English gem.
Impossible to watch with the stupid bells pointing out things which any halfwit would have understood. Also, the intro/end screeching ‘music’ is entirely out of place and not in keeping with the style or audience. Whoever has been hired to do social media/marketing/branding should be sacked. All such simple things to get right!
Jesus christ that is an ear shattering intro
I Agree, the bell noise is just annoying and stupid, unfortunately it takes away from the entire piece....
The jingle every time the blue box comes on the screen is REALLY annoying and takes away from the video. Just an FYI....

The corner blocks were screwed in place. Period pieces often have corner braces cut into the rails instead.
That video was actually about corroborating a claim that an armchair was 18th century, not determining the age, as the title suggested.

You can also establish age by taking wood samples and sending them to a lab. XD
The guitar intro does not fit
Would have continued watching, but the "ding dong" noise drove me up a wall!
"sort of"
Omg Im out. Are you in a casino
That chime noise COMPLETELY ruins the video. How could you think that was a good idea?
