How about South Pacific? Pretty sure that was made in the 50's. I think SP was more of a traditional movie musical than Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. But plenty of great songs in GPB. Love both movies. Have both on DVD.
Gentlemen prefer blondes, is not really a musical and I miss Doris Day Love me or leave, Pajama game etc. What about Oklahoma, .Annie get your gun, Porgy and Bess instead of Gentleman prefer blondes?
