I've tried to appreciate Moore, I've really tried. But all of my viewings have been disappointing so far... I ranked him 43rd a few weeks ago, and even had to manually adjust his ranking because my ranking tool placed him more around 50th 🥴 I hope he steps up for the second half of the season, because he has the talent to be a first-rounder, and there is still plenty of room for him in the 1st round at this point, but that door is going to close eventually. What may save him is the possible lack of depth in this draft class and the fact he plays for the NTDP. If he was playing in the J20, I don't think we'd even be talking about him... 😔
Moore reminds me of Alex Nylander in his draft year (2016) - like to a T! And as a Sabres fan, I know all about skilled forwards that lack hockey IQ and a sense of urgency lol.
We've always been higher on Moore's IQ than most scouts, and still see him becoming a highly effective 3C with plus level defensive impact and elite skating. It's just the offence that has struggled to progress as we'd hoped. Could still reach top six upside but he has some ground to make up
