I was curious about this one when I first saw it. The aesthetic had my eye and I usually a loop of gathering and crafting to keep everything going. But it’s a shame that it seems to get on the grind side and that frame rate doesn’t sound good on Switch. I’ll hope that can get fixed up but for now, I’ll have to pass on it. Thanks for the review.

I watched this review, immediately bought it. NO REGRETS. It's a lovely game I adore it. Thank you for this game review, if it wasn't for you i'd probably never buy it. Yes it doesn't run perfectly on Switch.. but if you’re patient enough you'll bare through it like me ;) literally the only time I experience a lag/delay, was when I was trying to craft alot of things. I would simply save the game, and restart it. Then the issue would go away and reappear later. I appreciate the art style, the characters you meet along the way,& the music. It’s literally perfect game to smoke and chill to. Maybe that's why I was so patient with it XD

The moment you get a hang of the game it is literally the most fun, bite sized adventure. It’s relaxing enough with a hint of a challenge to keep you interested. It’s actually the developers/programmers of this game’s goal to make the experience as stress free as possible for the gamer. :) I loved the game so much I visited their website to get more like it. Also, you are right, since they fixed the bugs on the switch, it just made the game more enjoyable.
It's such a beautiful game that was held back by the Switch performance. While it still stutters, it's nowhere near as bad as it was when I released this video hehe!

Hi Kelly, were you playing this in docked mode or on a OLED? I’m thinking of picking this game up on switch soon and the stutter performance issue is the only thing that’s making me hesitate.

There’s a lot of visual effects going on in the area, so that’s probably why the frame rate takes a dip, but I slowed down to a cool 3-4 frames per second for a while, and for some reason my character seemed to be moving way faster than usual. But during the majority of the game, I had no issues.
I am thinking to start doing reviews this way from now on! I have been searching for a way to make reviews different from other channels and I think this might be it? 👀

I liked the game, even if it did get really grindy near the end with you having to run back and forth all the time. My biggest gripe with it though is the ending. It was a bit dissapointing and kind of a cop out. I think it could have been better if maybe every time you collected a soul you would get fragments of context for how they wronged the damsel, and once you collected all 12 you would get her full story. But it didn't, there was no backstory whatsoever.
This was recommended to me for the cottagecore witchy vibe. While the animation is pretty, I had trouble moving around and after 45 mins of play, I was done.
This is a fabulously helpful review! I'd love perspective on what games you think have simple, normal, to complex crafting (eg where Stardew v. My Time at Portia rank). Here you seem clear that the number of materials is a primary hassle, not so much that the crafting interface/mechanism is annoying. Regardless, very helpful review!

Hello ✨ I think performance is crucial especially if people suffer from motion sickness like I do. It is getting better but nowhere near as smooth as it should. But I will keep hoping that they find a way to fix it as much as possible cause its amazing for a bed gaming session. I hope you love the game like I did, stay safe 💜

This game and all the extras are on sale at GOG for 6 days. I know I had it wishlisted but didn't look at reviews until now. I enjoy grinding and crafting and unique art. It'll be a purchase. Now, that is quite a glowy computer. What are its specs in I might so inquire.
I loved this game, not tipical cozy game fan, but the story was just so fun to me. I did have a bit problems due to playing on ps5, dropped frames in the portal world thing, and sometimes it would freeze in the menu or the witch would just randomly start walking up all of a sudden, but I managed that with going into ps homescreen and back without closing the game. Would defenetly recommend 😁
This looks super good, but I think I'll wait for another patch or two. My backlog is massive anyway. I still really need to get to Sakuna: Of rice and ruin
oh thank you so much for mentioning the stuttering issues, i'll definitely go for the steam version instead. i assume its the same kind of issue as cozy grove, which i *adore* on pc but playing on the switch made me feel motion sick triggers day long migraines in me :( it definitely still seems like my kind of game though!
Really? Cozy Grove had issues? Mine never did! But yes if you have motion sickness, Wytchwood is tough to play. It is better now but the issue is not completely removed. I hope the devs find a better way to port future games cause they make amaaaazing games

I got this game on pc and thought it was a kind of action game and was surprised by the crafting point and click type adventure it is, reminds me a bit of lugis mansion another series I love. So I decided it's a game that I'd love to chill and play handheld on my switch and got it on switch but omg the frame rate completely ruins it for me on switch which sucks because it's such a great game on pc. :(
I have seen how well it performs on all other platforms and it's a shame to see it struggle on Switch. I am still hoping it gets fixed (which the devs said it will) cause it's worth it
@@MissBubbles OK so I booted up my switch and updated Wytchwood and omg it is much better already, bit of pop in issues with the lilypads but it's expected on switch. Glad to finally be back to where I was originally! Not sure why I love this game so much (my all time favorite game series is silent hill), like just collecting to make stuff to collect more and make more shouldn't work this well but the art and music bring it all together. Even going through it all over again to get back to where I was was still great. Now I'm afraid I'm going to beat it too soon😄
@@Spilly_co you probably booted your switch up and got the update before me. I went back on my switch and got the latest update and it's much much better than it was, still could be improved a bit but it's 100% playable now.

I bought this on day 1- it had been on my wishlist since the day it was announced but I experienced random joy-con drift. I tested out other games and didn’t have joy-con drift in those games so I think it must be a bug with Wytchwood. Waiting for more patches before I play again.

It is much better than when I played it BUT the stuttering is not gone by any means. Meaning, less stuttering, but it's still there. Hope that makes your decision easier

I am glad you still find enjoyment in the game despite the few gripes. I hope we get a Wytchwood 2 which learns from the previous shortcomings!

Reagents, mending poultice, that game also challenged my lack of English vocabulary 😆 It's sad to see how it runs on the Switch though...

Creating an account for a different region is extremely easy on the NS so you can definitely find it this way 🙂

I bought this game on day 1 and it’s unplayable. I lost like 5-6 hours of gameplay due to a bug that’s not letting the game autosave.
