@@Light-ro5bp I meant more the animation of Wordgirl resisting the mouse brain and the way it shows her struggle. I just put the time stamp at the very start of the scene because I really like it.
Doctor Two Brains was always my favorite Word Girl villain. Not only is his design so cool (a mad scientist with a rat's brain stuck to him is awesome!) but he always felt like a character with so much depth. He's the only villain who was actually a good guy and an ally to Wordgirl before his accident. He was that classic scientist friend to her that sense of history and connection elevated him. All of the best superhero villains have some sort of personal connection to the heroes and Doctor Two Brain checks that box! We also got to see his origin story on screen which is more than most of the other villains in this show! And Two Brains also had the best and most sympathetic premise. All the other villains were just people who decided that they want to be evil. Nothing wrong with that, lots of villains are that way. But Doctor Two Brains didn't want to be evil, he never had a choice. It makes me a bit sad whenever we see him since this isn't his fault and he surely doesn't like what he is being forced to do. That battle between the good doctor and the evil mouse should have been the focus on his character but I think it was too much for PBS Kids. We only ever say this dynamic in the shorts where they introduced the villain. Doctor Two Brains clearly has a split personality here and you see his good side trying to break free from the evil mouse brain. But I think the network was worried it would scare the kids, the idea of a good person being forced to be evil against their will. So in all of his later appearances they never brought up the idea of Doctor Two Brain's good side or him being forced to do this against his will. And I still liked Two Brains a lot, but this was such a missed opportunity to explore the classic super villain character trope of a good person being forced to do evil because of a split personality. If Wordgirl for some unknown (but awesome) reason gets a reboot, I'd love to see them examine this aspect of Two Brain and his relationship with Wordgirl.
Yeah, Dr. Two Brains and Tobey were always my favourite because of their unique connections to Wordgirl. Actually were/want to be friends with her (well, Tobey, a little more than friends lol). But Dr. Two Brains would be my top favourite if I had to choose between them because of how tragic his backstory is.
You sometimes get hints, such as when WordGirl and Dr. Two-Brains swap minds; when WordGirl is being influenced by the mouse brain, Dr. Two-Brains pleads to WordGirl that she's the hero but he sounds so much like Professor Boxleitner, like being away from the mouse brain is finally allowing him to come back but he still does the right thing and gives WordGirl her body back in the end. He even sounded so proud of her when she was able to show stronger resistance to the mouse brain. The idea is still there, just shown in more subtle ways that won't potentially scare kids.
He was my favorite villain! Really funny and has a very interesting relationship with his mouse brain, I always liked when you could see him acting more animal-like. As you said, he's not a really bad person, but his other brain interferes with so much, and probably wore down his sense of morality over time because most animals DON'T have a sense of morality, they just do what they want, when they want.
I always personally thought of Two-Brains as Wordgirl's archenemy. Despite his motivation not being particularly threatening, his intelligence and determination, plus his past friendship with Wordgirl, makes him her greatest enemy
the mind switch episode always hurts because that's not dr. two brains in wg's body, that's Steven, completely separated from Squeaky, just free to be his old self, for at least a little while. And the first thing he says when he realizes Squeaky's affecting wordgirl the same way he affected him is beg her not to listen to it. Steven is still in there. Even if he's not used to being himself, even if he's accustomed to committing crimes and stealing cheese because that's just his life, he goes right back to being that sweetheart friend of becky's we saw in the og shorts. And it hurts twice as much when you see the episode where he genuinely tries to go straight and go back to being friends even while the mouse brain is still affecting him. Don't even look at me right now, I am like ugly crying over how bad he wants to be on good terms with his old friend even though he knows he can't.
I didn't realize that the voice actor is the same as ice king's until this year... For reference, I knew Wordgirl existed and actively watched it when I was probably like 6. Adventure Time came out when I was around 10. I'm 20 now.
Ight but really this villain concept is criminally underused and I wish someone with a bigger budget would steal it, you can see the potential in the last clip where just Boxlightener's Brain and wordgirls swapped, we see even the protagonist gets turned evil when paired with the mouse brain and Boxlightener is still alive and good (double meaning there) the whole time just not strong enough to fully fight off Squeaky, this is also shown in that episode where he lets the mouse take over and immediately becomes like, 6x as much of a threat/evil
I’m pretty sure half the villains in this show aren’t actually evil. They’re just using crime as an outlet to circumvent whatever bullshit they’re putting up with

This man absolutely killed it
Cool
Gotta love how everyone thinks Two Brains' eyes look like he smokes weed when white mice have red eyes.
2:05 “who pays your check?”
Got me rolling omg this show did not need to be so good
Dude I never knew I needed Twobrains absolutely ROCKING the end of that theme song until just now.
God I miss this show. Lowkey prolly gonna go rewatch it. Then show it to my kids in about 5 years. WordGirl was my CHILDHOOD.
Also no wonder I liked Ice King so much. He reminded me of Twobrains!!
I’ve never seen it until this month and I’m already on season 4. That should tell you something
0:39 the loving look on his face as Two-brains walks away
Ilamo-
Ok, what episode was it that Twobrains and word girl switched brains. I need to know
Dr. WordGirl brains

I just love when he gives the little brain a hat, that’s so extra and adorable
My love for this man is unreal PLEASE.
0:35 I just noticed that he got two whole servings of mac ‘n cheese on his tray besides the grilled cheese. Two-Brains eats as much cheese as a poor college student.
*Mouse brain*
i just realized, when hes not in jail, he could just get a job and buy cheese
Him and Plagg could form a bond!^^
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian Dr Twobrains as Chat Noir would be cool
But he was merged witg an EVIL rat, not just any rat
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian please no.
@@FeligamiAdrizoeSworaDooplivian him and plagg are both alike in many ways they would probably be best friends
1:22 my god, dr. two brains can REALLY hit a high note.
1:44 the way he drop down i dunno whats happening to me
5:55 adulting
So that last clip kinda proves Dr. Twobrains is actually a good person, just the mouse brain gets the better of him.
I also enjoyed their voices switching too.
Pretty much
That wasn't Two-Brains, that was Steven, who's finally able to come out of the prison the mouse brain put him in.
3:32 HELP THATS SO CUTE ❣️❣️❣️
I love that WordGirl has a decent friendship with like half her villains because they all sorta know she's a 12 year old kid.
this is a good example for what a kids show should be
Dam, Dr.Twobrains is actually really good at singing
Im not surprised, Tom Kenny even has his own charity band where he preform 50s and early 60s music and even co-wrote songs for SpongeBob.
Two Brains has always been my favorite I wish the show was still going he had a lot of great character development ahead of him
“ThE tWoObStEr” literally made me die 😂
3:10 why is he lowkey cosplaying Luffy???
Oh great now I see it too.
Woody from toy story
Luffy doesn't wear a scarf, ascot, or bandana scarf, whatever he was wearing
THE ONE CHEESE! THE ONE CHEESE IS REAL!
I love him so much oh my god
Not me literally forgetting Wordgirl existed until the SUDDEN popularity. Not complaining though cuz this was was my whole childhod
Her instinct to just straight up end him when he went for her cape is just hilarious to me.
'Cheese isn't really my thing.'
Mouse brain: *TRAITOR!!*
2:26
BYE NOT THE 4TH WALL BREAK 😭🖐
Bro, he can actually sing tho
3:15
Can we just appreciate how no one cares about anything else but the giant spider climbing on his face.
To be fair I'd be freaked out too if a giant spider just jumped onto someone's face.
3:02 the STANCE 💀✨
1:34 that honestly slaps
Mustache of mice
I like how that guy audibly says "Big evil laugh" and dr two brains is reasonably upset
3:20 - 3:21 Why is this so perfectly cut??
[3:22] "I know that, but anything is better than playing second fiddle to a crazy mouse!"
Doc, that's a little... on the nose there. That's an unwittingly very Steven sentence/sentiment
Ok, but I LIVE for Dr two brains!! He's such a dork and it's adorable!
Wow I forgot this show existed. Thank you for bringing back childhood memories.
6:20 Ah yes, as opposed to a bald two-legged spider
6:05
I don't know why but Dr. Two Brains looks really cute in that outfit.
What episode
Don’t forget word girl could easily smush him into a huge cloud of red mist, but she chooses not to. That’s probably why his eyes are so red, he stays up all night thinking about that.
I cant believe you forgot to include the scenes where he bugs chuck while chuck is watching his mom's house and just high tails it over there to vibe when he learns chuck's mom isnt home lol
The way he keeps saying "chucky baby" never gets old
Let's all appreciate that stellar knee drop at 1:44
I've been bingeing word girl episodes that I'm pretty sure have him in them and hes amazing
1:36 OKAY BUT DR TWO-BRAINS SLAYED THAT
FR
I can't believe I forgot about this show. I watched it quite a bit as a kid!! WordGirl is iconic.
Even dr two brains got the narrator speaking for him? Legendary
I love how there’s been a lot of attention towards Wordgirl recently! This show was and still is my fave childhood show!
0:36 lil happy stim 🌟
He do be tappin
Drummin
Tobey is my favorite villain but Two Brains is close second with his minions being in third and fourth respectively
Those minions are just so perfect with their comedic timing lol
Tom Kenny really carried our childhoods, didn't he?
He did good
this man is so skrunkly and bisexual I love him
Oh yeah
Bruh don't say someone's sexuality for them if you don't know for sure
Why do we care what his sexuality is again ???
This is some tumblr type of shit.
YOU’RE RIGHT
It's always a treat to see Tom Kenny in a show I've never heard about. 😂
1:34 This is so me at karaoke!
And opera the boot as well?!
I also love how she's about to kill him over trying to touch her cape.
Part of the reason I like him so much is because of his friendship with his henchmen ❤️❤️
Me: Who tf invents a supervillain whose main goal is literally stealing all the worlds supply of cheese? Thats the dumbest idea ever
Also me: /draws comics with a terribly drawn supervillain whose main goal is destroying all childrens scribbles and bad artwork/
That's actually really funny lol
That'll be hell for Wallace or other fictional characters that love cheese though.
@@TheWillikids "Gromit, Dr. Two Brains has stolen all the cheese, looks like it's time to invent a war machine!"
Wow, your eraser guy sounds like he could actually get a very deep self loathing/acceptance character arc!
The Ice King and Spongebob Squarepants himself, Tom Kenny.
Best Voice Actor ever!
He really should be everyone's favorite villain from this show
Tom Kenny is so amazing at voice acting he's so much fun in villain rolls with ice king and twobrains
Tom Kenny just has this unnatural talent of voicing great villains
I remember that two brain was my childhood crush
Me too
Ooof same 😅😭😭😭👍👍👍 lol
Man, Tom Kenny is teally good at playing the best childhood villains. Two Brain, Starscream, Ice King, Commander Peepers. Can never get enough of him
Same I love Tom Kenny! I was originally gonna meet him in New York City in October 2022 but I didn’t get the chance cuz someone took the day off before my mom and I got the chance🥺I am planning on meeting him this year! Heck I even made him a letter and a gift which is a drawing of Commander Peepers(my peep love of my life☺️🥰😍👀👁️❤️🖤💛🤍), watchdog me, and Perry including a drawing of my top 5 favorite characters he ever voiced! My top 5 characters her voiced are Mumbo Jumbo from Teen Titans/Teen Titans Go 5, Ice King from Adventure Time 4, Dr. Two Brains from WordGirl 3, SpongeBob SquarePants 2, and my number one who is my most favorite character out of all the characters who TK ever voiced and he’s the one who I love the most cuz he’s the peep love of my life in rp(RolePlay), Commander Peepers from Wander Over Yonder 1! He’s my idol and I can’t wait to meet him when I get the chance☺️.

0:50 Look at that guy dance
Fact: Tom Kenny has never voiced a bad character. I think.
