Time to make signings and strengthen this squad. EH deserves backing now. The foundations are there now deliver what these fans want success. This game summed up what hard work belief and the will to make history.
Agree, PIF, Mitchell, whoever... back this team. Risk some investment and then sell barnes in summer or Longstaff or whatever. Just strengthen now or risk losing Isak almost certainly in summer.
@@boemher15 Surely Barnes is exactly the sort of player we'll need next season if/when we're in Europe? Not saying it's necessarily the right thing to do because it's a huge gamble, but I can see the club hoping Howe gets Europe without significant Jan signings, and then taking advantage of other clubs needing to sell in summer to back Howe going into a CL or UEL campaign.
The transformation has been unbelievable. I totally hold my hands up Eddie is the man. It's so pleasing seeing the determination in defence and the magical way we attack HWTL
Si, Klingsman'd into the final 🤣🤣🤣...plus Charlotte all giggly 🤣 Great podcast chaps, you collectively analysed the game in a way that didn't make me scream at my screen. The XG tsunami from other analysts was doing my heed in.
We are in a great position in the tie . A lot can happen in a month like injuries , loss of form , so lets stay calm. But we are in golden form right now .
Handy that we have Liverpool (a) on the 26th February, two and a half weeks before the final. Nice measuring stick and gives us a chance to iron out any problems before the big day.
Klinsmann slid back to King's Cross. Then continued the Klinsmann slide back to the train today and you've convinced me. I've just slide into a hotel booking for the Saturday night in London. Definitely in my top 5 matches I've been at. Will take a lot to beat PSG at home. The team and fans put in a 10 out of 10 performance last night. God bless every one of us.
My current fave ever Newcastle team, considering I have been supporting us since 1996: Given Trippier Schar Burn Hall Lee Bruno Solano Isak Robert Shearer
They showed how good they can be last night - if consistency is there top 4 and good runs across the major competitions should be expected, not hoped for. A few more signings that would strengthen the starting 11 and we’ll be a major contender for the title.
Let's calm down a bit, folks. I have spent hours all over the web-i-verse, and so many are saying "There is no way they will beat us by 3 at SJP! Look, West Ham beat us 0-2 at SJP not too long ago. If Arteta's ass-children are leading by two at the whistle it goes to penalties. That is possible, so let's not be counting chickens. Also, if I infer correctly from the presser with Burn and Howe, we got some good bounces (decent luck) and with the fatigue and a few bad legs, Toon had little choice but to avoid a wide-open game and bunker in. Yes, it worked, and much of that was due to Arsenal missing chances. Yes, Isak is a beast, and ice-cold magician, and his supporting cast was at it's best, but.... Let's sober up just a bit.
If people think John Thomas Buttock Partey isn't coming up to St James, armed with his favorite brand of petroleum jelly and his eyes on a prize, they are kidding themselves.
Amazing run and turnaround- but as we all know expecting this squad to maintain current performance levels over the course of a season is a big ask. As most fans were calling for Tonali to be played as a six since he came back, I'm no t sure Howe deserves the credit for the turnaround. But he is a really solid bloke and I'd love for him to win us a trophy. I do wonder if our less intense start to the season and input from the performance director has helped us to hit peak performance at just the right time
Loving London I know a lot of Gooners. They’re a level headed bunch generally, tbh. The ones I saw at work today were all “fair enough. You deserved to win”. Very different from their north London neighbours who obsessed about a refereeing decision which was actually correct .
Transfer question: Given how well Botman is covering RCB, we clearly have enough central defenders to be able to rest/rotate etc. Should this mean we focus any budget we do, in fact, have on a RW this January? For example, let's say (exc. the GK situation) Mitchell's got £60m in the coffers, do you think we should we push the boat out and spend it all to try and secure a proven, top RW (an Mbeumo-type), or dilute it across a CB and 'young' RW (e.g. a Tyler Dibbling)?
Look at the run of away wins . Even if the teams aren’t firing we’ve always struggled away to them . Never seen the like , banging in the goals, not scrappy one goal wins 😮
Loved last night, to be at The Emirate stadium and smash them felt very special. On the money Charlotte, Newcastle wanted this more than Arsenal. Flights and hotels booked. 8 in a row!
Imo Alan Kennedy was Newcastle's best LB but Lewis Hall is in a class of his own. From duff signing to absolute bargain and he's a Geordie (sort of) to boot. And to think there were some not so smart individuals questioning Eddie a couple of weeks ago! In Eddie we trust Howay the lads....
I cannot wait to see Wor Flags with their display of Arteta Balls Suck, or We love Puma Balls or Arteta hates Puma Balls or Salty Tears Shed Here. The next tie will be like a Subbuteo Game of the ball being sucked or blown onto Arses net! F*ckin class (and Obscene!) HWTL & Lasses
Home team will have chances but if you watch our 1-0 win at SJP and Arsenal limited us to 9 shots in total. Both teams never really looked like scoring after Isak’s early goal.
I appreciate the excitement and all but it’s a 2 goal lead, Arsenal bungle one in early in the 2nd leg and the mood shifts HARD. If we win the trophy I’ll happily run round the Quayside in my underpants; but I ain’t gonna jump the gun, I’ve been hurt too many times by this club in my life😂
Once upon a time all that mattered was beating Sunderland. Strange now we are mixing it with the big boys that’s unimportant. We are finally realising we deserve to be in the big games
Win the Carabao, Qualify for the Champions League, Keep our blue chip players and then have an unbelievable summer transfer window where we bring in 4-5 quality additions to build on what we already have. The checklist is simple and it’s in our hands! In Eddie we trust.
@@BaronSpamedi but surely achieving Champions League means we are able to persuade key blue chip players to stay? Banking Champions League money also will count towards accounts and offloading certain fringe players would also help massively. Can’t remember many if at all any teams that off the back of qualifying for the Champions League then wave goodbye to their key players?
@jrws89 reportedly, we don't have much money left to spare. We are fairly close to our PSR limits. If true, it means that if we want to splash significant money in the summer, then we need to give our revenue a significant boost. The only quick way to do that is player sales. There are only a handful of players we can sell that will fetch in enough money to buy the four or five quality signings you seem to be expecting. Finishing the season in a decent league position, and even winning a cup, isn't going to suddenly give us enough money to go and splurge on five top quality players. Pretty much all clubs have to sell players on to buy new players these days. We are miles behind the big six in terms of the revenue we generate, that's why they appear much less affected by PSR than the rest of us. I'm not sure how you've managed to avoid hearing about PSR, as its been in the news for most of the last two years. I'm afraid that, in reality, your checklist just isn't as simple as you think it is.

That performance matched anything I've seen in Europe.
Last night was testament to how good Tonali is, he does that role far better than Bruno. The pair of them together are phenomenal.
My God, how on Earth did we manage to buy Lewis Hall, he is genuinely going to be world class.
Awesome result. Eddie howe has got it spot on again.

Start building the Eddie Howe statue, we're finally winning a bloody trophy! 😃🥳
long way to go yet, especially if people keep jinxing it
Relax mate. Its exciting but you're being premature. Injuries could mess us up.

Big Burn the Dan Man. Ledge. Him as captain is a genius move as he’s totally committed.

Very nice if we can figure out a good Burn Botman Schar Kelly rotation that actually works for everyone.

No signings this window and in the summer, It would depend on what league position we achieve
I loved the defensive performmance in the second half, reminded me of the Moreno/ Chelsea v Barcelona European Cup final win. MAGnificent
Despite all his great goals I think Miggy”s lasting legacy with us may well be “five- five!”
Huge result but come on, PSG was bigger for us by far.

It’s only a. important win if they follow up with a performance at home.
There was a force-field around the goal from Stephen Spielberg. The ball bounced our way.

We aren't going to be able to bring in 5 quality players. We don't have the money thanks to PSR. Not unless we sell Isak, Bruno, Gordon or Tonali
