i got the big baby a few weeks ago and tried the lower end full size taylors and found the big baby to not only sound better but also play better... save yourself a few shekels and enjoy this great sounding guitar. it plays like a dream
It does indeed play like a dream, I love it!!!!! 👍🙏🏻✌️
I've had mine for just over ten years now and I still can't find another acoustic I prefer. The deep rich sustainable tone is like no other with light gauge strings. I tested the harmonics and they just don't want to stop. Hands down best acoustic I've played next to a Martin.
Just got one today, love it, i went from a 89 dollar guitar for 5 years to a bb taylor, it's awsome.
Is it easy to barre chord and is the action good on it ?
Strum this guitar with a pick and man o man it has such an awesome sound, such a distinctive sound i swear! went back and forth from the martin dx1 , taylor 110e and this. But this guitar in particular won my ears and body for its comfort as well as rich sound. For anyone looking into getting this guitar ,give it a try and feel what i felt
I went into the guitar store not looking to buy, but was so surprised at this for the price. I refered this one over some $1000 + guitars.
Hey man I’ve just bought this but not picked up yet, do you still have yours or have you upgraded? ✌🏼
How about gs mini?
Update: I switched over to the gs mini after a friend let me try it out it’s a better overall sounding guitar!!!!
It’s the best guitar I’ve ever owned! I’ve messed around with mini martins and baby Lowden a but I always come back to my Big Baby Taylor. 100% recommend.
Before shipping, Bob Taylor sprinkles a little bit of magic in each and every Taylor guitar.
Its his jizz
I've had this guitar for a couple years now and it plays beautifully and sounds incredible!
It has all the qualities of what makes a Taylor great, the effortless neck and a rich, resonant, yet balanced tone. It also sustains for days and mine is a pure acoustic (no pick-up system).
Don't let the affordability of this guitar cause you to underestimate what a great instrument it is, it's just a very bare bones and simple guitar (no bling of any kind) which is what helps make it so affordable.
These days I primarily use it as my alternate tuning, especially DADGAD, guitar, but it excels at everything I've played on it!
One of the reasons I initially bought it was because I wanted a slightly smaller body guitar which would be easier on my shoulders while still having a more standard neck.
I love that I can play this guitar for long periods of time and it never bothers my shoulders.
What a great demo. The variety of picking styles and the clean picking really shows off that guitar. Bravo and thank you!
Forgot to say that that Big Baby sounds fabulous. And I'm not a big Taylor fan.
I bought one exactly like this from a guy who manages a music in my area for $300.I love this guitar and play it practically everyday.
just got a brand new one for 450 man this thing is amazing
Yes, we plan to do this asap!
just picked one of these up today, the quality of this beauty for the price is insane. one of my best purchases yet! i love it
I've played the BBT, I think it sounds incredible for the price, super crisp, just I don't know, it's not like any other option around that size, and price. It's just GOOD, really good.
This guitar is the best choice of the price. Handy, good sound, loud, all balance.
I had one of these. I loved the electric-like feel of the neck, and the comfort of the slightly less deep body. It had a little less bass than a dreadnought, which made for great note separation -- especially good for recording, since it would sit in the mix without a cloud of overtones. The neck joint was another story. I eventually grew so tired of adjusting the truss rod that I traded the guitar. Part of what made adjustment tedious was that the nut for the rod was not centered in the access hole, so getting the socket-style truss rod wrench to engage around the nut was a battle every time. (In case anybody wonders: No, I did not string it with heavier strings than the ones that came on the new guitar.) Too bad. It really was a great sounding and playing beast when it was properly set up, but I think it's a little under-built. Ended up with a Wechter Pathmaker, which had similar virtues, without the neck vice.
Shouldn't have put Bass Guitar strings on it.😮😯🤐
Just bought this so I had something slightly smaller and more durable for college! Love it!
Can you tell me how much paid for it 3 years ago...
jesus christ a college student being able to afford this guitar??? :0
I mean yeah, it's cheap for the quality but DAYM
Tony, you're so clean cut! What a difference ten years makes!
I'm really considering getting one of these (the new BBTe), mainly because I'm a student that can't afford a top of the range Taylor but does still want a decent guitar. This seems perfect for me as it has a good electronics setup and the fact its a little bit small is something I like. Any guitar experts recommend I get something different?
Also Taylor GS Mini has a lovely sound but higher price. But am considering getting this.
Just bought this guitar yesterday. Love it. The sound is amazing. Sounds better than a lot of guitars that are double its price. The neck is slim and fast for those with smaller hands. Those concerned over the screws they cause no interference at all. One of the best guitars I have ever owned. Very impressed.
i bought a gs mini 3 days ago, loved everything about it but the strings that came in with it. i swapped it with the big baby and never looked back since.
this 400 dollar ish guitar sounds like a 800 to a 1 thousand value guitar
soooooo true
Its not perfect but, with this price, obviously the best choice
And I’ve just bought one for 102£ 🤣😛🙂
mrm4xim4m how ??
A little Big Sandy thrown one there
Just got this guitar used for $320 but it’s in brand new condition, super happy with this purchase
What a steal!
I got mine second hand in 'as good as new' condition with the soft case and feel like I've got a steal at £345 which is $486 in dollars, so you really got a bargain!
I have mine for more than a year now, i paid $450 plus canadian tax, love this guitar since day one
This guitar is killer when I played it I couldn’t believe how good it sounded for the size it’s the greatest
I used Taylor Big Baby E In my gigs... And very satisfied!
yeah i was kinda wondering if it would work on a stage at a church
First of all, You look like a baby in this video lol, I subscribe to all the TAC and newsletters. Thank you for all of the content you provide. I look forward to watching every Tuesday!
Its tone sounds like it fell from heaven
I bought mine at L&M and to this day i have no complaints. I bought it around 2 years ago
the BBT sounds fantastic. try one. It seems a little cheap with the laminate back and sides and the bolt on neck but it plays and sounds very nice.
My love for guitar will never die ♥️♥️♥️😍😍😍😍
Pound for pound, which is the better guitar: a taylor big baby or a martin dreadnought jr?
I have had a BBT since 2001. I have had no problems with this guitar. The bolt on neck has been no issue. I think it even sounds better than when new. I wished it had a wider nut but I can handle the 1- 11/16.
@War Boy
I bought a second hand BBT about three years ago and have played it nearly every day.I love it and have had no problems at all with anything other than new strings.
Even the man who owns the guitar shop said that he loves them as they are so much fun.
I have been playing guitar for 60 years I bought this big baby used and I play it every day I have other..Martin and hand made guitar...it sounds great and easy to play get one they are worth it.
I bought one yesterday and I am enjoying playing it I switched from a yamaha because my hands ✋ are small
I have played tons of Taylor guitars. From the solid top 100 and 200 series right through to the custom build to order models. Although some of them sounded and played better, The justification in upgrading was just not there. I am looking at installing an LR Baggs Anthem system in my BBT in the next month or so. :)
I love the full on Dreadnought no electroacoustic the natural sound is amazing and always could add a portable acoustic pickup
THANKS TONY I BOUGHT ONE FROM A LUTHER WHO REPAIRED IT; I.E. SPLIT ON TOP DUE TO LACK OF HUMIDITY. I'VE BEEN WANTING A MARTIN FOR THE BARI TONE BUT I THINK I WILL STAY TAYLOR FOR NOW UNTIL I CAN LEARN HOW TO PLAY.:)
Great demo as always !!!
Sat down and played one in guitar center today. Absolutely fell in love
Just bought one for 190.00. Need to lower the action but I’m happy.
WHERE????
justinandkym Craigslist Denver. Action was high. Threw a business card in the neck pocket. Action is now goldy.
@@myprivatelibrary no i mean where did u buy it for 190 bucks??
Beautiful playability and sustain on my 2003. No frills or embellishments.. Thats what you pay for.
I've been playing a Little Martin since about 2014 and I've been eyeing getting a Big Baby for a while and I'm finally pulling the trigger and getting it now!!!!!
would the Elixir nano web 80/20 bronze 12/53 light strings be good on this Taylor or what would you recommend ?
thank you, cheers!
Same, LX1 owner looking for a big guitar
Only really had cheap guitars, this is a step up for me and it's everything I had hoped for. Only thing is - it has the dreaded high action on the 12th fret, so I've filed the saddle down a lot. Even now I'd love to take it down another half a mm, but the saddle can take no more, would probably have to start on the neck, but I don't have that pedigree.
What songs in order are you playing ? They seem so fun to play.
I'm a Taylor Heart!😍❤
They should make a mahogany-topped Big Baby, like they do for the GS Mini. I would love that.
Congratulations on the weight loss! You look great!
how does this compare with guild 240CE?
I have a Big Baby Taylor and its awesome! its my first guitar and i love it :D
I just got the TAYLOR ALL MOHOGANY BABY and to be honest out of the Box not impressed one Bit . going to change bridge nut to bone and the Nut to Bone and get rid of them tinnie strings and change out the tuners to Grover .. I might has something !
wanted it on my 18 wheeler with me for down time and 3xs out of the case tells you something
hey tony! great review, thaks a lot! i can´t decide between epiphone ej 220, cort ndx 20 or big baby taylor! i like playing many music styles and i thing the three of them are awesome guitars, wich one would you choose? thaks again! cheers from argentinaa
Oh, so there IS supposed to be two screws on the fret board there? I passed on a guitar on Offer Up for $249, because I thought hers was a reconditioned. Jeez. I just hadn’t seen acoustics with screws there on the fret board attaching it to the body. And I would also think it would make a weird sound when the strings hit across the screws.
I've had my TBB since 2006 but I almost only use it to play slide on. The thin and flat neck/fretboard makes it perfect for this. Would be great to se a slide review of it here.
still have my 2004 model that I just got repaired
I own 2006 model, still loving it , my favorite guitar, handy ,simple, great neck and sound, im using Labella nylon strings and oh god sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet sound, its gonna be 10 years, many guitarcenters and music shops visited, still favorite piece in my guitar arsenal .
Nylon strings????
Do you have a video of ?
@@2ES_ yes, they just feel good, sound like some classic guitar, neck is perfect, reason why im on nylon is life of strings, i have them until they die, sound and playability just perfect, just try
Before the GS Mini came along and rocked the world of travel guitars... The new Martin Dread Jr is really aimed to compete with the Big Baby not the GS Mini, but instead everyone compares the Dread Jr to the GS Mini....
I like the BBT sound and feel, personally.
I love your video it so amazing how you did it in your guitar
I have a taylor dn3( 300 series) but this guitar sounds good for the price on it, i played it and about 10 other guitars at guitar center.
As grew the beard.. so did Tonys skills!
what are the names of the songs you are playing?
The BIg Baby records really well.
Please what do you call the first style of playing that you played? I like it. It is used for many commercials here in US.
Look. Jimmy fallon
I bought big Baby Taylor yesterday
Which one would your recommend this BBT or the Martin Dreadnought JR. ?
I have a bbt since now, and I bought a martin drj 2. Sound of Martin was better, as full Sapele ,but I sold it for 1) action no possible to lower as the bbt 2) keyboard was not fitting my fingers on some chords cause guitar scale is shorter 3) keyboard feeling was weird for me (not real wood)
I love Taylor guitars so much!!
Hi. You might know. I bought the Taylor Big Baby Acoustic/Electric. 2 questions. What do you think about this guitar and also it says it’s slightly smaller than a full size acoustic. What exactly is smaller. Thank you.
Nice video - tx for it.
I have mine ove 15 years and got a more expensive yamaha full size, just love my taylor
bought it, woohoo , sounds awesome
Are you still happy with your Taylor Big Baby...I have a Larrivee L-03 RE as my go to and gig guitar but I wanted something I can travel with and use around a camp fire and such...Long and McQuade sells `em for $440 plus tax...still worth the price in your opinion? Thanks
I hear you playing that john fahey tune. John fahey was a legend
Is this better than fender c60?
I'm thinking of buying one of these as my first acoustic guitar. I play an electric guitar with scale length 24-75', so the Taylor BB's 25.5 scale length is on par with the scale lengths I am use to.
I thought about buying the GS mini but the 23 inch scale and smaller body I feel will be too small whereas the BB is just a tad smaller than a full size guitar and normal scale length.
Definitely. I am now a proud owner of a BB and I am really impressed because it sounds very nice. I recommend it for beginners in general and especially electric guitarist who also want to start playing acoustic guitar.
Pick big baby, dont buy gs mini
Henry, I bought the BB but now after a year in retrospect I should have bought the BB acoustic electric. But still It's a good guitar.
Watch out. The recommended string gauge for the GS mini is medium 13 gauge. Kinda rough for a beginner or early intermediate player.
@acousticletter Can you name the riffs in the order they are played and put a time stamp next to them?
Bought mine used in a pawn shop in Arizona and it sounds great, it's an older one i think, says made in El Cajon, ca, got it for 265 bucks in great condition, it travels with me over the road and across the country
Hi dude i would like To know wath is the firts song To te guy play? Veray blues songs
What are your thoughts vs the Seagull S6 Original for a beginner? Thanks.
Still regret selling mine years ago :-(
Ive proudly got one of these fantastic guitars.
I can play Wish you were here by the famous Floyd and it sounds just like the real thing.
Good enough for me.
1:45 name song?
Yeah what song is this ?
is there a name to the first song you played? and as ma matter of fact you play it in almost all your videos...
Hi , do you know if the 2014 and 2015 models still have the two screws on the fingerboard?
+sicopr2003 Yes, I believe they do. -Chad
does it buzz because the action is high?
would you be able to tell me the names of the songs you play.
Hi Ana, they're all listed on Tony's website with tabs and a few have video lessons with them. Just Google his name. Cheers!
Only got the first one: John Fahey's "poor boy a long way from home"
Very very good review!! listen tothat thing roar!!! wow always liked this from first time i heard it... :-)
Can i choose the big baby for travel guitar ?? I love the sound but im not sure about the size ( gs mini is good but i prefer the big baby to gs mini )
Im bidding on one on ebay. Sure hope I win.😊
U won?
Since the neck is held on by screws, What's the heaviest gauge string you would recommend putting on it?
Lucas Cheung 12 is the most suitable on its nut n saddle.
just got this guitar and the shop recommended 11
I have two BBT's and Taylor recommends Elixir Light Gauge Phosphor Bronze NANOWEB (.012-.053) They are an amazing string, give them a try.
12 gauge Elixir strings seem to bring out the best on the big baby.
I'm buying a taylor guitar, but i dont know ... should i buy the Taylor big baby or should i go for the Taylor 114 CE ?
I would buy the 114ce.... I like the neck joint better on the 114ce. -Chad
I have both. The 114e has a bigger dynamic range and more volume. The big baby has its own cute voice. Both are easy and fun to play.
Will you make Big Baby vs GS Mini video? That would be great
Be aware, the GS Mini uses 13 gauge (medium) strings. I had one and had to trade it away. Those bigger strings were a little too much for me. Now I have the Big Baby.
I think the Big Baby sounds better too...I know Tony disagrees though...lol.
What is the bluegrass song u were picking
Esse violão e top ....chow de bola
Do I buy this or academy 10?
Are those standard elixir strings?
Taylor is the best I've played
plz tell me;; what is the song name he's playing between 55 seconds to 1:22 ?
little steam engine. Not sure who by
What are the demo songs?
At 1:02 what song is that
if u adjust tross rod on this guitar after time would it warp the neck since it is a bolt on neck held by 2 screws....wont it rip the screw apart from the wood block inside guitar joint
gitar yang saya mimpikan untuk memilikinya
