Another great vid Jake, great way to spend a Sunday watching you tinker with your truck. Yeh bloody KW are daylight robbers when it comes to parts. Look forward to the next one 👍👌
You mention the seal for your rig. You should point out they are Rockwell/Merritor, by looking at the shaft bearing fitting, at the back of the front diff., as it has a bolt in bearing carrier, Dana are welded in then bored. Merritor is better, as when the output bearing fails, you just buy a new support, and bolt up. The Dana, if you do not have ready access to a line borer, you will be looking for a better banjo housing, or a new one! OUCH!!! Best wishes from Northern Canada.
I could take parts off the other trucks I’ve got but I have to be careful because i like to keep the trucks mobile so I can move them around ect and when you start pulling parts off before you know it you’ll have a parts truck so I like to replace parts with new stuff and then I know it’s good for another 30 years!
Hi Jake been waiting for the next installment. Looks like it is going together more every time you post. I’ve seen more than 1 video of guys installing those sleeper boots and it always looks like a pain in the butt! When you big hole it you’ll be able to get the holes straight across they look like they are crooked. New shoes will make it better! Those old air wipers are finicky but rebuild kits should fix them. Stay cool
Yep it sure is all the tinkering at night time and when I have a spare minute adds up it just takes a while! Yeah I don’t think the holes quite line up the big hole will make it look 100x better I would never big hole an original crawl through but since this one has already been chopped I don’t mind doing it👌🏻
Gday Jake, making good progress, Kenworth certainly know how to charge for parts , I wonder with the new window winder if you’ll still get the chain rattle noise in the door?, bloody awesome episode mate, cheers
No I had to get a Victorian roadworthy certificate, so it goes to a certified mechanic and they inspect it. So even for historic registration it still has to be compliant and safe to the standards of when it was built, they have to be older than 1929 to be exempt from a roadworthy I think
I did consider that but I want to keep the truck as original as I can, I love the sound of the air wipers too they are just classic so I had to keep them!
@@chrisburt7849 sorry mate I do this for people to watch and learn stuff if you can’t skip the first 5 minutes where I was clearly having a bad day but still went to the effort to record then I’m sorry, it’s literally the first few minutes and that’s it🤷🏻♂️
Sorry mate it was a bad day I had a couple of tablets and pushed on, time to work on the truck is hard to find so have t make it work when I can skip the first bit of the video and I’m all good after that👍🏻
Coming along Jake, good to see your passion for keeping the old gear alive and being used.

@@dieseldownunder. Thanks mate 👍
Is that old girl(KW) exempt from dot/dvsa vehicle inspection? For it too be roadworthy 40+ over here as historic vehicle 👍🏻

@@dieseldownunder. All good mate , we all have them days , you do teach a bit to a lot of people at the end of the day !!
There's no truck that can't be rebuilt
grab a tissue buddy
Bad day that day, took a couple tablets and had to push on👍🏻
Take some antihistamines and buy a handy. Like the content but.
Sorry about that, it was a bad day that day, I’d already had a couple tablets so had to push through👍🏻
