I’ve used this for a couple of months and I have to say that I’m impressed. You were right, and this $50 keyboard was better than my $70 HyperX Alloy FPS
seriously underrated, great review. im got the rk61 and im thinking of returning it because pressing fn for everythinh is kinda wack and i miss f2 and arrow keys. i didnt need rgb that much, but im thinking of getting the rk sink87g, and its brown. i also painted black over the rk logo on the rk61, hope they dont notice
Thank you! Haha same I wasn't used to using the fn key for everything and it just didn't work out for me. Hope you enjoy the sink 87g tho it's a great keyboard!
Nice video man! this is exactly the video I was looking for. An honest and detailed review. I've been looking for a review of the rk987 tkl and found this one to be the best review. You definitely deserve more subs. And also, I have a request. Could you also please review the gskill km360 tkl mechanical keyboard? It's similar to this one, but has cherry mx switches for $50.
thank u so so much!! so these keycaps are swappable right?? are the keys normal sizes or a little bit smaller and does the backlight only do the colour white?? anyways thank u smm for this review!
May I ask why you had a bad typing experience with Keychron K8? I just have that keyboard for two weeks. I found no issues in typing except that it requires a wrist rest. But that’s just me. Also the 4000 mah battery and excellent build quality is superb. Nice video by the way.
I enjoy a more clicky experience when typing which was just okay for the K8 but I actually preferred my RK 60% keyboard a lot so I ended up picking this one up. Thanks for watching!
The rk71 was something I was considering picking up, but I went with the 987 instead. I'm glad you like the rk71 though, maybe one day I'll try it out!
YMDK Grey & White Keycaps in the description from Amazon, they wouldn't be the best if you want to use the RGB on your keyboard but I'd check on the amazon reviews
how does the bluetooth work? does the keyboard itself need to be a wired/charged from time to time? since i’ve seen the red led that lights up under the spacebar. or does it charge while wirelessly connected to bluetooth?
Yup! You have to charge the keyboard with a usb type c cable (it comes with one) whenever the spacebar shows the red light under it. You can still use the keyboard with Bluetooth while charging but the easiest option would be to turn off the Bluetooth and connect it to your computer with the cable while it’s charging
I'm not sure exactly what the switches are since they don't mention them in the description of the product. However, I do know that they aren't cherry switches so they're probably their own in house switches tbh. Thanks for watching!
If it's not on Amazon for you I'd recommend looking at aliexpress or banggood for it. They might take a bit longer for shipping though, but the prices should be good. Thanks for watching!
Only when I turn on my computer it takes a few sec for the Bluetooth to connect, but no other problems besides that! If you bought yours recently I’d return it for another one since it might be defective
The new ones are hot-swappable. Got mine for like $44. Comes in with brown in-house switches which i wouldnt recommend. Changed it up to Gateron Yellows 70 pcs and called it a day. Now its a nice keyboard
I noticed that the letters dont light up , only the keyboard. Is it the keycaps or the lighting in the keyboard doesnt really light up the letters intentionally?
Since you could find the rk987 for half the price of the k870t, I'd say that the rk987 is the better buy! The k870t might be slightly higher quality (idk but i'm just guessing), but the rk987 doesn't have any quality issues or anything so I'd say to go for it. Thanks for watching!
Hi! Could you help to test/find out if R987 would work well with Apple Mac computers? The official product page doesn't seem to mention that explicitly?
Only when starting up your computer it might take a few seconds for the keyboard to start, but when using it there’s no latency! I’ve actually been gaming with it wirelessly and I’ve had no issues
@@SushantGupt i was looking for a wireless compact keyboard for my laptop to make my study area better, just so happened to get that idea on prime day! lol intro to programming is going to be a lot better this summer

does this keyboard have a usb dongle?
Glad to hear this!
Nope, just bluetooth or wired if you use the included usb-c cable
@@gaetnus7423 no, Bluetooth or wired.

Thanks man I appreciate it! Also if gskill sends it over or I decide to buy it one day I'll definitely review it!
great review, just to let u know that it actually contains more than 1 lightning effects in every number (mostly 2 effects)
Ah ok, thanks for watching!
Nice review. I just got this as my all around keyboard.
thanks for watching, hope you enjoy it!
thank u so so much!! so these keycaps are swappable right?? are the keys normal sizes or a little bit smaller and does the backlight only do the colour white?? anyways thank u smm for this review!

Didn't mention if the switches are hot swappable, brand or n key rollerover
What was the plate made out of? I always get plastic plate from boards at this price so im kinda scared
Is this hot swappable?
Whats the difference between this one and the RK87?
have you find the diifference?

YMDK Grey & White Keycaps in the description from Amazon, they wouldn't be the best if you want to use the RGB on your keyboard but I'd check on the amazon reviews
Do you think this is a better option than Ajazz K870T? I'm planning to take this and get the 2.4ghz variant with a dongle
Hmm sorry I'm not familiar with the Ajazz keyboard, but thanks for watching!
Can you do a review on keychron keyboard too
Maybe one day if they send one out to me to review or if I end up buying one!
just got these today, awesome stabilizers! added foam pad and custom keys and it sounds so awesome
Glad you it!

Nope it isn’t lubed at all, everything is the same out of the box besides the key caps!
@@SushantGupt thank you sooo much
Loved your video but can you tell us what brown switches they used?

Is the bezel of this one removable like the rk84? To get the floating key look
Unfortunately you can't take off the bezel
Check up RK again and they had released a hot swappable version with triple modes. Pretty cool.
Oh cool I'll look into it!
Do you have link? I can’t find the 3 mode TKL
what’s it called?
Trying to find this. Do you have the name?
Sounds good!
is there a delay during gaming since its bluetooth not wireless

I cant find this keyboard what is this
If you can't find it on Amazon I'd try going on eBay to see if they have them there
Is it hotswappable?
Sadly it isn't
Is it hot swappable
Unfortunately it isn’t
Big oof
hey man! planning to get this keyboard and change the keycaps with a cherry profile. is the pcb north or south facing? Nice review btw!
that ping is annoying.. Have you tried modding it?
I haven't tried to but also I don't really notice the ping much in real life
have u modded this at all?
The only mod would be the keycaps which I changed from the all white to the grey and white
Hi, may I ask if this is a hot-swappable keys?
