    After only 6 days of tray 1 I developed severe open bite and started to feel like a horse when trying to chew as well as had jaw tightness and vertigo. I do think I probably clench my teeth but I also thought I was supposed to use the chewy on the back teeth 😅I told my orthodontist and him as well as the tech basically berated me and said they’ve never heard of someone having vertigo and that there’s no way my bite shifted in that amount of time.
    I’ve had 2 sets of braces as a kid, 4 root canals, 4 crowns, and probably 20 fillings (I’m only 29 yrs old) so the fact I ended up with what I felt was a perfect bite after all of that was a miracle, and am very familiar with what biting normally feels like. It was disheartening and discouraging to hear my orthodontist make me feel stupid. I am only trying to fix one canine that scooted forward since my upper teeth’s permanent wire was only placed behind my 2 front teeth as a kid and not all 4 like my bottom teeth, so I’m wondering if it’s worth messing my bite up even more. What should I do? See a new orthodontist? Just give up on the invisilign? Bite so bad I literally chipped my upper canine chewing 😭He’s the one who did my childhood braces and wires so I assumed it was the best to go back to him, but to have someone deny everything you are experiencing is the worst feeling.

    Thank you so much for all your videos, they are immensely helpful! I've been wearing aligners for 11 months and recently I've noticed that my bite is no longer good, the teeth on the right side no longer touch when I bite down whereas the left side still touches. I'm really worried the aligners have ruined my bite and there's still 6 months of treatment to go at least. Is this a normal situation, that only one side doesn't touch? Thank you for your help in advance! 🙏🙏🙏

    This is slightly off topic, but I've read that it can be harmful on tooth enamel to brush right after eating (especially after consuming acidic food or drink), and to wait at least 30 minutes to brush after eating. If true, this would make it harder to adhere to the 22-hour goal. So, I'm curious if you have an opinion. Thanks!

    • @TrayMinder
      @TrayMinder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Great point. If you eat or drink acidic foods, it’s best to wait 30 minutes before brushing. You can always opt to rinse with plain water or water with baking soda (to neutralize the acid) in lieu of brushing and then wear your aligners. Of course, if you ate sweet sticky foods, it’s best to rinse and brush.

    I just finished full-time Invisalign wear (full treatment, then 6 months full-time retainers), moving on to overnight wear. I'm noticing that my lower teeth are pressing pretty hard against my upper right incisor and I can't get a comfortable resting position because of it. Is this something that is likely to improve with overnight wear? Should I cut the backs of the trays off to allow the molars to move/erupt?

    I have only two teeth (pre molars on right side, top & bottom) that are touching & are preventing my molars from touching. If this were resolved, I think the rest of my molars would likely touch. I do clench my teeth (day & night while I sleep). He said adding attachments to my molars was the way to fix this even though it's the interference of the premolars (which have attachments) that is causing my molars not to touch. I'm very confused as to why he's going about it this way instead of just refining the offending two teeth & seeing where my back molars touch once there aren't two teeth blocking them.

I am currently experiencing this issue and my orthodontist has prescribed for me to wear my trays only in the evenings for the next four weeks and then re-scan and start again. If you have Invisalign, you can find out which aligner is which. I have a video on that on TrayMinder. It sounds like you should contact your ortho office so that they can examine your mouth and aligners to make sure everything is okay. Switching to a more advanced aligner when you’re not ready will make it so that the trays will not seat properly and evenly, causing more pain and tracking issues.

      Night time grinding and clenching increases with stress. Usually the back teeth will touch again as you go through the day. If you have pain, it’s best to see your dentist to do a TMJ evaluation and see if you’re a good candidate for a night guard. A night guard distributes the forces of grinding and clenching.
