I am not a musician and generally get bored listening to drum solos, but Rayford Griffin is one of the exceptions. Wow!

Wow! This is the most minimalist sequencer/sound effects & keyboard usage I've heard JLP use live since early 70s footage. Still sounds great. A noticeable diff but still great!

One of the best concert videos that I have seen. I have done this, and it's hard to do. Great job Paco! I'll see Jean on June 20th in Chicago. I hope he's with this band. I played drums for ten years, and this guy is another great one. No such thing as a bad Jazz-Fusion drummer. LOL :-)
Thanks Dave. It was indeed a great concert and I'm sure that you'll enjoy the upcoming concert in Chicago. Jean Luc is clearly a master of the violin and on June 20th (City Winery, Chicago) he will be playing with Jamie Glaser, guitars - Wally Minko, keyboards - Baron Browne, bass and Rayford Griffin on the drums.
Dave, I just saw JLP in Austin last Sat. night (June 17th) and undoubtedly you just saw him on the 20th. Same drummer as in this video. Rayford Griffin is truly a badass on drums. I saw him with JLP in the early 80s when he first got his start with Jean Luc. Very impressive show to say the least. the show the other night matched the intensity of the 80s show. Had 2 friend who never heard of JLP until a month ago and were blown away.

Techniquement sans aucun doute très impressionant, mais mélodiquement, ce n'est vraiment pas cela. Parfois, moins, c'est plus, et ici c'est le cas. Alors quand-même plutôt Eddie Jobson.
Je voudrais mélodiquement. En ce qui concerne Eddie Jobson (un autre grand artiste) Je pense qu'ils ont tous les deux une place importante et sont deux grands violonistes.

Que tal recuerdo de un super show, ese día estuve en la última zona pero al bajar ya finalizado el show vi a algunas personas ya pegadas al escenario y pude conversar con el guitarrista, y un tipo super accesible, me firmó mi ticket y hablamos sobre su pedalera de efectos... Genial noche y grandes músicos... Si tienes el show completo si lo puedes postear

Tive la suerte de asistir 7 veces Mr Ponty in S Pablo.
Drums are way too loud in the mix.
Sorry about it but keep in mind that it was recorded without an external mic but rather with the built in camera mic. (Not intended for any commercial use or to get financial benefit from the recording but rather for the fans that were not able to attend that night)

JLP mix had the drums too loud, nothing you could do about that,I enjoyed it.
I understand. Must mention that from my perspective the auditorium where this concert took place; 'Peruvian Army HQ's auditorium'' (made mainly for military related activities), was not the best from an audio perspective. 'Gran Teatro Nacional' in Lima would have been a much better location but I guess it was not available.
