After decades of managing construction sites, I can safely say that the single biggest and generally most accurate indicator of jobsite safety, quality, production and cost was the organization of the jobsite. If a site is organized, it is clean, and someone is in charge and cares about what is going on. Watching Dave work, and most of the rest of the team, I have seen that level of organization, and also the other indicators that tell me that most of the time, they will turn out the best possible result. I say most, because there are still bad days and mistakes for everyone, but they will be rare.
Oil viscosity W which stands for Winter. This measurement is related to how an oil flows when it is cold, such as at engine start-up. The second number is defined by how an oil flows at normal engine operating temperatures.
Gents, lovin when you film maintenance especially washing the equipment. Mighty White is in need of rust removal and fresh coat of paint. Mighty White is your rolling advertising.
Quin you are doing great well done 👍 grand to see the swans and good to see Stevie helping Dave withe maintenance work where would you be without the equipment so good you look after it hope you sorted the broken part how’s Jamie any better hope so all tc ladies and cement guys to you could not do without all the team till next time tc 👋👍👋🤗👍
Nice to see a Jet Wash being used. Still have a Hose Pipe Ban in Cornwall.......as of March 2023. Even though the Reservoir serving my Town is 100% full.....!
It's lovely to see the Swan nesting , and the morhens doing the maintenance work ,so looking forward to baby signets this year, see ,fingers crossed. Quin your a star. And of course Dad and Son keeping the yard up to scratch, Ready for the working week. Well done.X
I'm sure I was watching a documentary on TH-cam, which was showing the bank- building credentials of Moorhens...in fact, they're famous for it😉👍❤️ Good to see the swans back, nice and safe on the Nottingham Strid. Brilliant content, as ever. Thank you❤👍👍
Just a tip about Halfords if you don't know. ANYTHING they sell, if you can find the same match cheaper elsewhere they will match that price. I saved a pretty penny doing that.
Good on ya Quinn, good lad. Dave your not fat mate, stocky and solid - breathless cos your muscles are burning a lot of oxygen 📣📣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 great episode again boys, the swans lookin magnificent 👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️📣📣📣
Fantastic maintenance vidio so much to do keeping everything running smoothly and Quinn doing all the washing all the dirty grabs etc well done and good buy Dave on you tool trolley very handy
Hi Dave Stevie and HELLO NESTING SWANS,them moorhens have been so busy how lovely 😁,Dave as long as the tool do the job that's all that matter and nice tool cabinet .shout out the Quinn well done for your grafting.600 ouch ,have a good week kay & Stuart.
Think you maybe using the plug tap to try and start that thread Dave. Get a taper or 2nd cut to start the thread and then switch to the plug tap. Hope this helps….
Well done on the DIY servicing, torque filters you need a filter cup and a torque wrench. Never bothered, nip it up by hand then give it a smidge more does the same job 👍🏻
Hi guys can't stop watching your video keep them coming. Dave what a legacy your building you must be so proud. Just think how many people you are supporting, what a great human being you are. Daemon in Cornwall
Loved the maintenance video. Always good thing to stay on top of. Never seen one of those magnetic trays before, good idea. Quinn is one busy guy with college and working two jobs. Hope you all have a good day.
The moorhens did an outstanding job lol, great to see the swans up the top finally! Well done Quin, hard work will pay off in the end. I was told the same thing about the oil Dave.
Handy for tradesmen with a step ladder, rivet a small thin metal plate to the top tread then attach the magnetic bowl to it or nut & bolt it to the step ladder itself
So glad to see the Swans. hopefully we get signets this year. US Pro Tools are fine tools, they are budget, but not bad. You are right about the oil but the oil itself is the lower grade and contains additives that make it resist thinning out as it gets hot, so the second number is the thinnest it will get. By the way the “w” stands for winter and indicates that the lubricant in question has a different viscosity, or different flow characteristics, based on temperature. I love how you guys take care of your equipment yourselves so you know it's done right.
Everything all ways takes longer to do than what you think at least you got the main things done like the Sannyy. Fingers crossed for the swans this year.
With regards to the viscosity of the oil - the higher the number the thicker the oil so for instance a 10W-40 is thicker than a 5W-40. The number before the W is the viscosity of the oil at low temperatures, the W stand for Winter and the number after the W stand for the describes how thick the oil is at the engine’s normal operating temperature.
If it’s been said ignore, but hit that oil pan with a stiff brush to get all the sand muck off before possible contamination of your engine. I’ve watched and enjoyed all your videos and finally understand your broken English. BTW I understand English was started in England, improved in the USA and perfected here in Southern Alabama.
Ad-blue/oil have the neck of the bottle at the top handle pointing down.... stops the air build up in the bottles and don't need to pierce a hole in the bottles 😉
Yet again another great video. Thanks Guys. Its really good to be able to see behind the scenes as well as your daily jobs. I see your pretty famous in the USA. Joe Everest has posted a review of your fencing technique. Lots of positive comments and loves the clicky fingers. 🤞😊. Great Stuff.
Good afternoon D and J, I hope you're all well .... Great to see the swans in a more suitable nesting spot and after the run off with the snow that will be their first housing test! It just shows you we work and live around the planet not vice versa ! I do love a list of things to do. It helps me get stuff sorted and reminds me of what I would have probably forgotten or a bigger job pushed it out of my mind. Today's job is fitting a front 3 piece carbon spoiler to the motor which should be achieveable ...he says...(if it stops raining !) That tool cabinet is superb and is fool proof as long as the tools go BACK 🤔😜 I do love a maintenance Saturday 👍🏻👍🏻 Be safe 🙏 see you Sunday for the 5 question special 🙏🦉🦉G
Depending on your location and temperature regions As you've probably noticed, most automobile motor oils have two numbers. These are multi-grade oils, which means they are non-Newtonian fluids. The first number describes viscosity at low temperatures. The second number refers to viscosity at normal engine operating temperatures. Notable 10W-30 Oil Features. Since 10w30 has a higher viscosity than 5w30, it's thicker and flows slower during cold weather. The thickness gives it more staying power between engine parts at higher temperatures.
If you look after your equipment and service it, it will look after you 😉 lovely to see the swan's nesting again, Let's hope all goes well this time, great video guys 👍😀
Beautiful toolbox from Bernie. I bought a huge red one back in the day for my husband. He enjoyed it. Good maintenance day. Long day for Quinn. Good lad. Eagle eye there Stevie seeing that “puncture waiting to happen “ thingy. Swans are beautiful.
That took chest looks like a good idea to keep track of your 10mm sockets 😂 It's good to see how you constantly look after your machines and take pride in them 💯
Hi to all at d&j,great to finally see thanks to the Moore hens the swans can get up higher🙂tool box looks good dave an who cares that they are not the most expensive but as long as they do the job thats what matters, good on quinn for working hard, bearnie being a bit harsh on dave🤣I hope the crusher doesn't turn out to be a money pit for you guys, gotta say the air filter you took out probably could have been cleaned and reused as didn't look that bad tbh, gotta love people in the comments junmping to conclusions🙄if you want a job doing properly dave do it yourself with washing the sany🤣🤣🙂👍
Afternoon D&J team it would be nice if you could get a webcam to show the swans 24/7 on your Web site so people can see the progress. Would it be possible for you to do this please. There’s not many that’ll put in the hours like Quinn does well done.
Want to try some 'Grippaz' orange gloves, tough, hard wearing, last much longer than those blue ones you use. I even wear a pair under my work gloves when concreting, etc, keep your hands dry & warm, even if work gloves get wet.
You should take a photo of that position sticker so you have reference when it wears off over the years. You should run the machine for a minute to check for leaks and then re check oil level
its weird cause I love watching ppl work and do their job cause its interesting and ya learn something BUT I hate ppl watching me work, but saying that their are different types of watching lol!!! plus @3:00 that rolling tool kit is NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!! 👍 10/10
Dave that tool box is a brill tool chest, my other half bought me the double set (The base and the top tool chest as well) And that good I m ordering myself another set for my Tools shed :😎😎
So glad you recommended the struggle channel way back when .... he's a legend....... would you let him loose in that tioo chest tho dave ...... bet by this time next year he's accidently got one of those blue tools on the floor of his struggle bus
Great bit Wednesday video action 👌 definitely getting me ready to get back to work next week after my break 👍 sany is just awesome would love to know more and definitely keep my eye on her performance 👌👍 best regards lee
hey fellas, the numbers on the oil are the weight character, the W literally means the viscosity measured at winter temperature. in summer the vis value would be lower.
Come on guys if you ain’t subscribed hit that button …… two videos a week they produce whilst running a busy family business….. I’ve done a TH-cam channel in the past and the editing ain’t no joke it’s very time consuming ……. This ChaNNEL deserves more than 64k . Lads just want to say a big thanks you for your content I watch them on night shifts and look forward to them . Big Dave is a legend takes it all on the chin and deals with the issues the company throws at him like a pro …… and Dave your far from fat mate 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
''15W-40 viscosity grade means it flows like a 15 weight oil from start up in Winter, but provides the protection of a 40 weight once the engine reaches full operating temperature.'' I like the toolbox, except there is the problem of it being a fixed setup. If you add tools there is no place for them. There is no way I would pay 600 for a tiny cooler. Just get something a little bigger and remote mount it somewhere. Probably cost less than 75. 37:19 you need a bottoming tap. Careful here, you need a light touch. You may need a helicoil insert. Get a set for the size you need. (insert, tap, drill) They are all special matched sets, and MUST be used together. The big issue is you may need a bottoming helicoil tap. I don't know if such a thing exists. You may have to find another way to mount the bracket. Contact Helicoil and add the link to your video. Ask for their advice. Maybe call them. You might have to get someone to weld the aluminum and redrill it. You can do it yourself, but it's a delicate process. edit; bottoming helicoil taps are available, just pricey. There are other brands too.
Thanks Stevie for keeping us updated on the swans. Dave had me cracking up 😂. That's the first time I've seen someone tap their head when saying "knock on wood" Does he have wood in his head?😂 Doing repairs are very seldom easy. But look at the money you saved I love that magnetic tray Stay safe
Not gonna lie, I love watching this stuff, I might be a woman, but that's what happens when you grow up with a lot of Boy's/Men in the family lol, Great video, thank you 😊

Thank heaven you guys knew how to fix it. Thanks for the video.
Gents, lovin when you film maintenance especially washing the equipment. Mighty White is in need of rust removal and fresh coat of paint. Mighty White is your rolling advertising.
Them moorhens are so clever at building that mound up! It's like they knew it needed to be done. ;)
The Moore hens did a great job building up the nest area for the swans 😊 Can’t wait to see the babies! I love the Wednesday maintenance videos. ❤❤
Great video , Don't let the Professional Struggler near that tool cart🤣.

As an independent contractor, your videos keep me going. From day one, I have been "NOT TOO SHABBY ".
Excellent maintenance, there's so many companies out there that appear to not look after their work equipment. 👍👍👍
I use a strip of sandpaper to help me remove ceiling and oil filters in tight spaces.
Just a tip about Halfords if you don't know. ANYTHING they sell, if you can find the same match cheaper elsewhere they will match that price. I saved a pretty penny doing that.

I live in Plano, Texas . I saw a grab truck owned by the city. It's something new. They pickup limbs brush we put out on trash day and buck trash.
Fantastic maintenance vidio so much to do keeping everything running smoothly and Quinn doing all the washing all the dirty grabs etc well done and good buy Dave on you tool trolley very handy
The oil question is correct Dave and it’s referred too as oil viscosity.
Your a real grafter Quinn keep it up. Tool chest looks good Dave. The swans are beautiful and so lucky the Moor hens built up their nesting area.

Get yourselfs a helicoil kit in it is - the right drilling bit the right tap / and the right steel insert easy! one of the best repairs in aluminium
An obvious victory for the ever industrious Moor Hens. Their hard work is paying dividends and I cant wait to see nest producing.
Hi guys can't stop watching your video keep them coming. Dave what a legacy your building you must be so proud. Just think how many people you are supporting, what a great human being you are.

Hi guys just discovered your channel. It’s not too shabby lol . Had a week off work and watched every single video . Keep up the great work love it 👍👍
That’s a lot of watching!

Loved the maintenance video. Always good thing to stay on top of. Never seen one of those magnetic trays before, good idea. Quinn is one busy guy with college and working two jobs. Hope you all have a good day.
Fascinating to watch what happens in the background to keep the show on the road. Thanks D&J.
The moorhens did an outstanding job lol, great to see the swans up the top finally! Well done Quin, hard work will pay off in the end. I was told the same thing about the oil Dave.

Very nice clean big sunnye digger now!👌👍
Great Wednesday special. 👌
Lads you must have some bloody big Moorhens 🤣.. Another great video ❤
Those Morhens have worked a miracle. Fingers crossed we see some babies this year.

Hi D&J. Like watching the maintenance days. Take the same care with the machines as you do with the jobs. Hat of Quinn. Have a good weekend 👍
Such a hard worker. College, work, work. College is hard enough as it is with all the theory and course work etc. Well done Quinn
Great to see the swans nesting. As the air filter has a metal mesh you could save a few quid in the future by rinsing it out in petrol.

Well done Quin, Work hard play hard

25:25 'NoDave, it's just look after your machine!' 😆
Another great video boys ! Be nice to see the struggler doing a few jobs at your place.
Chaps, I suggest that you invest in some pig mats to soak up the oils and save on cleaning the floors ! You work hard enough anyway without that !
You have a great toolbox you will have tools all in one place, I always thought that you built the area for the swans
It should have lines on bottle and ever line is a litre good teamwork as normal keep up the hard work everybody 👍👍

Retired after 40 years as a diesel and gas engine mechanic hand tight on the filters is plenty
Ali digger mostly does Doosans but he would be another asset for your equipment

Quinn needs a payrise he worked so hard xx Great video xx
make or adapt the bracket on the power barrow and use a different fixing point like the 2 studs above
Was thinking 🤔 that
Have you ever used an easy drain plug for your equipment? Makes draining oil very easy with no mess. If you give me the thread size, I will send you one for the Sany.
The litre markings are on the can it’s self ( normally) good luck 😉
