This was the Pokémon finale I wasn't expecting of actually happening. This episode felt like the spiritual ending of Ash's Journey. It went above and beyond expectations. Who knows what's next, but this was the episode I have been wanting to see over decades.

@@jedidude6358 I said "realistically written" at Ash's age many would aim to be the best in something, they don't have reasonable goals yet, his constant losing also plays into this, you will never succeed in such a daunting task on the first try, but eventually given time and dedication you can eventually reach that goal.

I was supremely nervous that Pikachu would have stayed down and cost Ash the World Coronation Series championship until we saw Ash's other teams of Pokémon in spirit form willing him to his feet to finish the fight. I love how it literally came to a head between Pikachu and Leon's Charizard in a clash of Fire Blast and Thunderbolt.

I'll give the list. Many tend to be a bit questionable sometimes. But this was great, full of amazing and interesting battles. It was just as great to see Ash land himself as the world champion after all this time and effort.

Ash really got knowledge in every journey he has been and now he really deserves to be the world Champion. I'm got goosebumps as I heard Aas reached his long time dream.

If I may add in the list, I would add Ash's victory over Lt. Surge. It was a defining moment how Ash was a valuable trainer. Not forcing Pikachu to evolve for his gains.

Last I checked, Ash's Pikachu was lvl 60 something. Thunderbolt is learned at lvl 42 if I remember right. I'm guessing it hit around 70-80 by the time of the Leon match. Not as strong as Red's at lvl 88, but very close.
It’s amazing how just 2+ decades can do to a young Pokémon training whippersnapper from Pallet Town like Ash/Satoshi has been!

How is Pikachu vs Lt. Surge's Raichu not on this list? After being completely overpowered by his evolution in the first battle, Pikachu proved he did not have to evolve to overcome and defeat him in the re-match.
His journey is just begun, as he said before: being a pokemon master is much more than just being the strongest

#18 Maiming Misty: that animation of Pikachu vs Gyrados is what brought me to watch all of Sun and Moon and Journeys hoping to see something like that again.. Well Pikachu vs Charizard finally did it and it was amazing.
Ash defeating Gary was definitely a significant moment for me because of how much Gary gave him a hard time.😊

Not to mention the personal beef between the two.
Personally I'd have put his victory against Bea on this list, at the expense of the Volkner entry mainly due to the fact that Bea was an obstacle that Ash had to overcome on his journey in the PWC, finally getting the W at the 3rd time of asking following a loss and a draw.

OMG ASH VS LEON IS THE BEST TO EVER EXIST! Everything is perfect- the animations were NEXT LEVEL, the cameos were perfect with Misty Brock May Max etc- but then they go ahead and show ALL of Ash's pokemon! Right down to Butterfree and Pidgeot! I kid you not I cried! Then they play a small clip of the 1997 theme song!! THIS IS THE BEST 25 MINUTES IN POKÉMON TO EXIST!!!!!!

The fight with Leon was great and filled with nostalgic feels

That final battle had me celebrating, he has finally broken out to be the best. It makes me sad cause it feel's like he no longer has a top to aspire to now, maybe this will pave way to someone new now

It's crazy that I was there from the beginning since 6/7th grade and of course I'm in my mid 30's now. To see his Pikachu take down a Charizard in his biggest tournament ever in his life and won was epic. 25 years later Ash's journey will finally come to an end. It's about time to finally close out Ash's journey. Man, I just can't believe it's been running this entire time which is making me feel old...
