Why (1) does audio from TH-cam always get output to speakers when control panel Sound Playback is set to speakers or Voicemeeter Input ? But (2) when the audio comes from VLC video, output to the speakers only occurs when Sound Playback is set to Voicemeeter Input. No sound when speakers selected .
That’s tough to read when I’m not at your pc, but it sounds like you may be playing audio through voicemeter to your speakers? Or you may have VLC audio sent to voicemeter? If TH-cam is playing through your speakers, it is either going to your speakers, or to voicemeeter then speakers
This video is over a year old and the best being under 10 minutes and detailed. I used voicemeeter just to take advantage of fixing my voice and making it sound better in discord and not wear a headset if I didn't need to. Installed WIN11, it broke everything so I had to redo it - Your video probably saved me HOURS of tinkering. Now I am looking to do streaming... May content create so you showing how to do the OBS stuff? Perfection. +1 :)
Definitely a great video. I would have just added the Channel Frequency check because my mic quality on discord was crackling and robotic. cheers for the guide, it helped me clean up the mess I had managed to create over time.
You took me from the brink of suicide on this, holy GOD was it a struggle to get VM running without your explanation. Thank you SO much P.S if anyone wants to know, VM can run in the background. Just go to the menu in the top right and click system tray.
It depends on wether or not the program gives you the ability to select an audio output. If it does then yes you can use audio cables for sure. If not, you can separate things but it’s not as easy
I use an external amp & dac for my headphones and I noticed a serious drop in audio quality processing everything though VM Potato. Is there something I'm missing?
I believe you can but it’s not easy. Mainly because you can’t choose a a default audio device for web browsers and Spotify easily. It can be done but it may require you to mute and unmute stuff on the fly
I bought it and it bothered me a lot choosing input and output, and I heard the sound with distortion Can you provide me with remote technical support through Anydesk software even if it is paid?
All I want to do with this is set it up to modify or change my voice effects on my mic. :/ What is it with audio engineers and having complicated guis.
At 5:18 Where you talk about muting your mic/speakers. You can get the same effect by just disabling the A1 or A2 in the specific channel. Say your girlfriend wants to listen to music on the speakers and you want to game on the headset. You would disable A1 in the spotify strip(2nd from the left) and disable A2 on the desktop strip(4th from the left). I'm using his setup as an example with A1 and A2. His Headset is setup to A1 Speakers are on A2. Obviously you would need to reverse those if your speakers are on 1 and headset on 2.
Just a quick question! Great video but what if I wanted to roll with my my mic being stand alone in OBS. I dont want it running off the Voicemeeter Output VAIO? How would I put it as its own? I currently added my mic now I am getting an echo.
So you should be able to just select your mic in obs. Like you should be able to use the input of your mic for both obs and voiemeter if you’d like. Just change your mic input on obs from Vaio to your mic
one thing i have is if a use output A1 to my computer speakers, i can NOT adjust the MAIN volume in windows (cable viao) or on the keyboard, 1% to 100% are FULL BLAST and 0% is obvisouly off.. i know i can edit volume in the software, but how can i do this without having to open and use a slider? - also I have to select A2 to send audio to whatsapp or discord or anything none of the B lines work!
For some reason i am not able to see AUX output in any of my recordings page. When i mean recording page i mean when you open change system sounds, then click recordings
Oh crud, I followed another set of videos(no naming), and they said to use Voicemeeter Aux. I'm a bit confused. Can you explain the reason for NOT using it?
The only reason is just how YOU want it to be set up. The only real difference between the inputs is name. So like if you’re taking road 1 home from the store, you’re gonna end up where road 1 and home meet. If you took road 2, you still will end up home you just took a different path
Hello, i have some issue. I do exacly what u show on video but on the end my OBS don't separate audio from game and audio from discord. Can u help me ?
So you probably haven't set up multiple recording tracks in obs. in obs, go to Settings, then output, select streaming or recording, then go to Audio Track. Check however many boxes you need, each box means another audio track. Then close out of settings and look at your Audio mixer on obs, it has the audio levels on the main screen of obs. Left click on one of the cogs and go to audio properties. Each audio source will have a box and number next to it. Each box represents another audio track, so just tell obs where you want to send the audio. Hope that helps!
@@JacQ2 Thanks a lot, that works. But i have another question, when i switch in Discord on Voicemeter Aux Output my quiality from mic goes down but when i switch on my Mic it's going normal. You know what can i do with it ?
I'm really sorry I was just reading comments and didn't realize I told you thankyou when you asked a question lolol It may be discords advance noise suppression software. I had the same issue and I just turned mine off
That was very useful as im trying to set up a music stream and the monitor delay on SLOBS was making it impossible. Only thing is now I cant hear my sound alerts? I can hear the follow/sub alerts ok though and the Sound Alerts work on the stream so the audience can hear them, I just cant hear them. Any ideas?
If I had to guess, the audio isn’t getting routed to your headphones. So basically how you have to route the alerts to your stream audio, it isn’t getting sent to your headphones. Does that make sense?
The thing about creating a gaming channel is have your audio sound more natural. I feel like a natural sounding voice sounds way better than a compressed/distorted voice. Idk my opinion.
