Just bought a house which came with a Yukon that was manufactured last year. Has the salt water system. Anyways just got it going with the recommended salt for the Yukon and the readings are way out of wack on the app. Test strips say the ph is low and that there is zero chlorine. But the app says the ph is high and I have a warning. So basically I don’t know what to trust the app or the spa boy. Also if the chlorine is actually low and the app says it’s high that kind of defeats the purpose. Maybe the probe is bad? Thanks also love your videos. By far the best for Arctic spas on the net!
Yes, the wifi connectivity is terrible. Stops for hours, then goes for a while, then stops. Does it about a dozen times a day. I don't think we should have to throw a breaker every time to get it going again. Ours is not going thru water to get to the router, and we can use computers outdoors far further from the router than the tub is. Other wifi items in the yard work just fine. The tub wifi seems to be very weak for some reason.
The most reliable connection is through an ethernet cord. If you have this as an option, it will be the best. There is a new update this week that will help as well. It will reset the spa if it does not have an internet connection for a period of time like 10 minutes or something like that. This should help. Make sure to flip the breaker off and back on again. Once it is connected, update the firmware through the settings on the app. I don't show that you are one of our local customers otherwise I could do it remotely. If you need anything else, feel free to reach out at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com. Thank you!
@@Arcticspasutah We would need about 200 feet of ethernet. LOL The problem is that the wifi module is on the far side of the spa, and wifi does not travel thru water well at all.
@@trillianspencer3303 That is a far reach for WIFI. I would suggest using an extended or putting an extender on the other side of the spa. It will be extremely hard to reach this far. Another option is to use Ethernet over Powerline. This is a technology where they send the internet over the power line to the hot tub. If you want more information, email us at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com and we can help. Thank you!
Can you please tell me what size buckets of salt for my Ocean Spa L all weather pool as there are 2 sizes here in Canada or how many Ibs of salt for an all weather pool..thank you and thank you for your tutorial videos
Remember that sometimes it will drop lower just after use. It takes time to recover. If it is low the next day after use, as an example, the first thing you will want to check is the salt level. Use the salt test strips and make sure you are around 2500 ppm. If you do have enough salt in the spa and it continues to be low, you will want to check the salt cell. If it is over a year old or if you have calcium buildup on it, it is probably time to replace it. You can also test this by turning on the Boost button, waiting a couple of seconds and looking for the mist to come off of the electrode. If you don't see the mist, then the electrode most likely needs to be replaced. Hope this helps. If you need anything else, email us at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com. Thank you!
Clayton, most likely the salt cell is still good. You can push the Boost button to turn it on. If you see smoking coming from the salt cell it is good. They have been working on the software with the battery indicator for the salt cell lately and sometimes it is not accurate. This will be fixed with a software update in the future. The salt cells last about a year but this is determined by usage and other factors. So while it is possible it does need to be replaced, it is not likely. Let us know if you need anything else. Email us at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com
Thanks for the reply. My local AS dealer (Energy Smart) provided similar feedback. As always I appreciate the amazing customer service AS provides which is precisely why we chose Arctic Spa for our second hot tub! (Only on our second due to our original Kodiak staying with our previous house).
So, you have to monitor ph on app, and via test strips to make sure app is accurate, have to add just blue, have to test salt levels and add as necessary, replace filters, replace salt cells, add boost when cloudy...............how is this system better than a regular chlorine system?
So I guess from your words you are looking for something that does everything without any interaction from you. This is just not possible. We are looking at making spa maintenance easier. The salt system reduces what you do, you just have to check on it and then maybe do something once a month. This is far easier and frankly more accurate that doing it manually with a regular chlorine system. It is just a issue of how much time you want to spend doing it. The SpaBoy reduces how much time you have to spend taking care of your spa and making it so you can do your spa "maintenance" from anywhere by just opening up your phone. Hope this helps to clarify this. You can always email us with more questions at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com. Thank you!
@@Arcticspasutah Sorry if I came across the wrong way........but no, that is not what I said. What I said was - how is this system better than a chlorine system if you still have to check all these things. I just assumed most people with a chlorine system eventually get the hang of how much dichlor to toss in after each soak based on their usage. I'm not opposed to the Spa Boy system and am actually considering it, just really trying to figure out if it is going to save me any real time/frustration over the typical chlorine system, especially given the extra cost of the spa boy system, which correct me if I'm wrong, is north of $2k US?
Sorry for this issue. This is a firmware issue. The factory is working on this with a software update. Make sure your firmware is up to date and keep it updated. This will get resolved shortly. Hang in there. If you need more help, feel free to email us at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com. Thank you!

This is the worst app ever It NEVER connects to my phone and always say offline. The water in my tube smells like eggs and is cloudy. We have followed the directions from the service technician to a tee with no results. Are pro filter plug within two weeks. Horrible experience so far. Not happy with my artic spa thus far
Rees, we are more than happy to help. Sometimes it is an issue with the equipment and sometimes it is an issue of the understanding of how it works and how to use it. One issue we deal with on the wifi is sometimes your wifi doesn't extend outside very well and thus the signal goes in an out. If at any time the app shows disconnected, simply reset everything by turning the breaker off and back on again. Once it connects, make sure to go into settings and update the firmware. They are always improving the software and many issues have been resolved recently. Second, with the water smelling like eggs, you will want to double check the pH level. Make sure it is at the lower end of the ok range 7.2-7.5 on test strips and green on the app. Usually, it will drift up so you might have to add some Adjust Down to bring it back down. If the pH goes high, just like with general spa water chemistry, you will have bad water. Next check the salt level. It should be at 2500. You may need to add more salt. Lastly, we want to get your water back to clear and smelling well as fast as possible. You should add 1/2 cap of the Arctic Pure Boost. You can repeat if necessary each day. Once you get the spa connected to your wifi again, you will want to have your dealer check out the salt system to make sure everything is working correctly. Now on to the filters. If you don't have any water flowing over the top of the skimmers that are on top of the filters and float up and down, and this is why you are saying the filters were plugged up after two weeks, if might have been because of your makeup water or the issues you are having with the water. If you remove the filters, remove the plastic wrap around the filters, and use a flat head screwdriver to pry off the bottom section of the filter, you will find a filter bag. Just go ahead and remove this one bag, put it all back together but throwing away the plastic wrap, and reinstall the filters and skimmers. This will most likely fix your problem. In the future, you can use a pre-filter that attaches to the top of the filters or possibly no have to worry about this if your water is better. Feel free to email us at Support@ArcticSpaStore.com or call us at 801-483-1001 for more help. Good luck!
