Like it! This is a much better OS philosophy than the current monolithic distro model. I find it really annoying to have to a download huge ISO to evaluate a particular new features, but get a ton useless to me applications which all get have to updated too, that I've already got installed on another VM or in a container. For my own person use I'm kind of doing what MicroOS is doing by downloading a minimal server distribution, adding a GUI, installing essential applications, docker and so on, then using TimeShift to back it all up when I'm happy. When serious updates occur, another TimeShift backup just in case and so on. However, if MicroOS is going to all of this automatically it's definitely a route worth taking.
That was a good overview, thanks.

What you talked about at the beginning reminds me of Don Normans book "The Invisible Computer" as I understands it. Smartphones and Apps somewhat getting as complex as desktop machines and their respective operating systems. Complexity sneaking in over time seems the to be the normal case and keeping it simple and sound (KISS) as a general design and usage principle seems always to be the first victim when it comes to commercial success. A reason why poeple still prefer MS-DOS or CLI based Linux with very simplistic UIs. Windows 10 IoT with their tile based UI and others are out of the embedded world are good examples how this KISS principle could be transferred into modern world. Hiding all of the bells and whistles and only show the really, really important things to users is the way to go in my opinion.
