Hi James, I’ve been in Clevedon woods 3 times this week. Forgot how lucky we are to have it on our doorstep. Thanks for the reminder. Keep up the good work 💪
Ah Court Woods is the BEST!! Been going up there for decades (for many reasons..!) and I get lost every. Single. Time..! We’re bound to bump into each other soon enough..!!
I have been loving the gym this year and its making a big difference for me. Tempted to do hyrox next year. Still slow at running and too heavy at 106kg but I feel good which i havent since way before my quin ironman attempt a few years ago
Yep - it makes a huge difference, doesn’t it? Hyrox does look like a laugh - just not sure I can buy into all that just yet - I don’t know, maybe - at the end of the day I’ve never done anything line it, so I can’t comment really..! Keep it up Ian - you know that it’s all about consistency…
Thanks mate - I really appreciate it as ever - yep, I never thought I’d like or be able to achieve anything like moderation or balance… but I’m trying..!!
My answer, I’m a mum, wife, daughter, sister, auntie, cousin and employee. Everything else just has to fit around my lifestyle with some sort of exercise fitting in that I enjoy that being cycling, kettlebells, country walks & yoga. Great work 🙌🏻
Ha ha an accountant calendar, if they did a few more crunches they would sell a few more calendars. I have a buddy who is an accountant how did a 10:02 Ironman.😂. I only do about 45 minutes of strength per week, and I just tweaked my back 5 days ago on the bike now I’m committed to my core routine daily as soon as I’m back up and running.
10:02 IM huh? I bet they immediately worked out where the 2 mins was lost in a spreadsheet… :-) Yep - get the body strong man. ‘Back up and running’ is an interesting turn of phrase, huh :-)
@@1stElement I’m sure he did. I’m hoping to finish in less than 17 hours in 2 years. He is one hell of an athlete though, he just raced a 3:09 to stand alone marathon in April.
@@irondistance4313christ, 10hrs. How many hours a week does he train ?? I'm assuming he stays away from junk food and alcohol (most of the time)??? 10hrs is serious going when just to complete an IM in 17hrs is a brilliant achievement.
Funnily enough, I was talking to a friend about the ironman I've entered for 2025 (the only one I'm going to do) amd how I just want to enjoy the experience, not worry about the time. To do that, I want to go into it just feeling strong amd healthy. In my mind, to be at that point, a range of all kind of fitness/movement/Strength work will help
@@jennycampbellritchie4705 good for you on the IM one - which is it? I think people underestimate how S&C helps IM especially - and that being super lean/low % body fat isn’t the best way to fuel a race like that… you know that underpants run thing they do before Kona…? I see all these ripped super lean athletes and wonder how they’ll fuel themselves on race day…
@1stElement Austria. I'm only planning on doing it once so needed to tick the nice swim / interesting bike in good scenery/ supported run boxes. The nutrition / stomach coping with the marathon is my only fear
@jennycampbellritchie4705 stomach is as adaptable as anything else - it just needs training like anything else - have you read The Art of Resilience by @rossedgely ?
You don’t get many calendars featuring scantily clad accountants, do you..?!

Thanks for sharing the wisdom.
Ah that’s kind - thank you - wisdom perhaps - but not mine! Really appreciate you watching and commenting.
if not already come across it you would love the book by Peter Attia - Outlive
Love this book - it was the one that opened my eyes to everything - thank you! I’m a B I G fan of Peter Attia and all he does!!

@irondistance4313 that’s rapid - you’ll smash 17 hours.
