It could do with a bail handle in my case on open fire firebox stove I can’t use my gloves through the handle - also if you wanted to replace the seal what size would you need
Steve is pretty active in reading comments so I'm sure he will take this feedback. The top of the pot has a very pronunced lip which makes for interesting ways to attach a bail. As for the silicone seal, if you need a replacement, a quick call or email to firebox support can get you squared away. To answer you question though, the outside diameter of the top funnel is about 6.9 - 7cm.
@@offcourseoutdoors8366 I haven't tried out the Moka pot yet, but Firebox customer service is excellent. I'm bummed that I missed the crowdfunder for this moka pot though, because the only thing that's stopped me from trying a moka pot is that they're mostly too heavy for backpacking... though until I discovered this one earlier today, I thought they were ALL too heavy for backpacking :) Now I want one... when my budget allows it :)
Thanks for your thoughtful review. $79.00 is more than my L'Or electric coffee pod maker which came with a heap of pods included. But this stove top brewer is at a mid-way price point when compared to other mini portable espresso brewers. Alternatively, just use the jug brewing method. Add almost boiling water to your coffee in a jug. Wait for around 2 minutes. Draw a spoon across the top of the brew to encourage the grounds to sink to the bottom. Pour slowly into a mug, avoiding the residue grounds. Enjoy!
Thanks for the feedback! Its pricy, no doubt about that. I do enjoy a bit of cowboy coffee from time to time. I will try your method and report back. Thanks again for watching, cheers!
The Bialetti Moka pot method to prevent fines from getting into your coffee, and to prevent a burnt or bitter flavor, is to remove the Moka from the stove the instant you hear it begin to gurgle, which means the water reservoir is almost empty so air is being sucked through the pipe. Then set it on your countertop to finish brewing from the residual heat inside the pot. Then stir up the most-concentrated coffee from the bottom with a teaspoon and pour. You'll see leftover brown water full of fines in the bottom reservoir, which is good because if that water had gone through from leaving the Moka on the stove for too long, it would've dirtied and diluted your coffee. So try removing the Moka from the stove the instant you hear it begin to gurgle. It will have enough heat inside the pot to finish filling up.
I got the bigger 400 ml of this Moka pot . It’s a screw type instead of a twist type. I use it to make two cups at a time. I’m not to crazy about the cleaning afterwards though. Thanks for sharing 😉👍
No joke on the cleaning. I accidentally or lazily found that if you empty everything out and let it dry you can easily clean it to a useable point with a dry microfiber cloth. Thanks for the feedback, cheers!

@offcourseoutdoors8366 I'm not promising that nothing will happen. I've used one in a standard Moko pot, nothing bad happened. It's not an original idea. I got it from TH-camr sprometheus, who has videos on making coffee.
I bought this exact same moka pot. Based on your video. On my 2nd time making coffee with it, the thing literally blew up in my face, leaving me and my wife burned pretty bad. I cannot recommend this to anyone for any reason. This moka pot is extremely dangerous!
Moka pots in general are very dangerous. You really have to control your heat source. I hope your wife is okay and recovered. Thanks for the feedback, cheers!

SUPERB well detailed video , inspiring enough for me to buy one , looking forward to experiencing organic decaf Honduran on the trail.
That sounds delicious, cheers!
Just ordered one from Firebox along with many other things. Thanks for the vid. Liked and subscribed. Happy trails!
Awesome! Thank you for the support! Cheers!
Awesome tutorial!!!
Glad you liked it! Cheers!
That’s a cool little coffee pot 👍
It sure is cool. Paired with the Toaks afterburner it a pretty quick brew. Thanks for watching, Cheers!

Very nice overview of the new backpacking version of an old classic 👍😎
Glad you enjoyed it, cheers!
Cool setup.

Where is the 400 ml version available at ?
I bough it on AliExpress 2 years ago
If I could find the 400 ml version, I’d buy it. But it doesn’t seem to exist anywhere.
A little birdie told me that a larger one is pending release. I will post and pin a comment here once the campaign is up and running, cheers!
Good review. I saw this as a Indigogo. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mark! This is real treat getting a compliment from a gear review legend, Cheers!
Cool video. Odd question, what’s the make of the little torch you used?
It’s the Everstart mini butane torch. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Does titanium react with other foods?
From what I can tell and expect from titanium, there is no reaction with food. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Where did you buy it? I currently use a GSI Outdoor, but yours is lighter for my backpacking trips! I can’t seem to find it on Toaks website. Thanks.
There is a link in the description to the product page. Cheers!
What about cleaning it - it look reasonably to clean I’ll watch other video they say it pain to clean ?

The splattering means the heat is too high.
Agreed, it takes a bit to of finessing with the heat. Thanks for the feedback, cheers!
I like this review thanks. But it is agonizing slow moving!
I agree, its a learning process and wish youtube would allow us to re-edit videos without getting a hit on views. Thanks for the feedback! Cheers!
I rather thought it was relaxing! Also loved the music
Late to the party. A paper aeropress filter would probably fit in the filter area if one wants a cleaner cup of coffee
I will try that but wonder if it will cause an over pressure due to added restriction of the filter. I will test... thanks for watching, cheers...
