You, Me & the RV
Color coated, charcuterie was a lead idea! We are planning a trip to Wisconsin and Minnesota for next year. Thanks for showing us around some beautiful places! Glad to know there was net under that rock! Love the idea about the lanyards!
Have fun!
I prefer small. Easier to maneuver and park. I'm a student of Bob Wells. His catch phrase is "I sleep in there, but I live out here"! I just need a dry warm comfortable place to sleep.
What a great spread! No ice cream!!! Now that's roughing it!
Stacy, I'll bet that you miss your computer system. Keep up the great videos!
Safe travels to all!
We had a great time. We did have some homemade orangesical ice cream.
We too have a diesel pusher, Holiday Rambler 40E, and have recently purchased a 25’ Leisure Travel Van Unity. The big rig is our winter “condo” in Florida and the little rig is for camping. We are fortunate to be able to have both motor homes. The bigger rig allows us to have plenty of space (and 2 toilets!) for our months long stays. But the 25’ LTV is wonderful for camping in COE campgrounds and state parks. Enjoy!
Very cool!
Very nice good look. At 5:48 get him Stacey.. 😂 safe travels can't wait to see all the places you go. CONGRATS COACH PHIL
I work for an RV dealership, and the parking brake is the one thing that befuddles purchasers of RVs on the Sprinter chassis the most. I’m very much looking forward to hearing your thoughts and impressions during your time with the Winnebago.
We did the same boat tour when we visited the Dells last August. We had our big slide upgraded to the Vroom system at Fabel's Truck Service in Appleton, WI. While it was there we toured the area including House on the Rock. Really enjoyed the Dells as we also took a Duck Boat tour. We also left our Motorhome at Island Retreat RV Park in Gulf Shores, AL and drove back home to Indiana for Christmas with the kids/grandkids in December 2023. We had met some really nice neighbors at IR and they kept an eye on our stuff while we were gone. Gotta love the RV community!
It is so fun to park at places and you have your bathroom your bed you’re refrigerator with you and they fit in regular parking spots. You just have the backend hangover. We had one and loved it.
My wife's cousin and husband started Noah"s Ark Waterpark, Black Wolf Lodge, MooseJaw Brewery and Knuckle Heads. They sold the first three but now the kids run the other two place along with some other business in the area. We lived only about 45 min. north of the "Dells". It has grown 10 fold since the 1970's. Glad you enjoyed Wisco! Get some real cheese curds from a cheese factory!! We sold our house and are full-timers since Feb 23. You inspired us.
It was a tradition when our boys were young to take them to Noah's Ark Water park. Fresh cheese curds are the BEST!!
You can also find curds fresh on gas station counters for Upper Dells . More s p ectacular. Take the Ducks for lower dells trip.
So glad you made it to Wisconsin. I sure wish you would venture to the North part of the state. I think you would enjoy it. There are some beautiful campgrounds on the shores of Lake Superior.
Welcome to the Badger!! Finally you came to Wisconsin. You really need to take in northern Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan while you are this far north. Some great places especially in the UP that c@n only handle small units than Ruby.
Thanks for the tips!
If we were going that small we would just get a Lance truck camper. We then can off load the camper and use the truck to explore. You guys are awesome and good luck in a small space.
I use to canoe through the dells. Would go up the all the little canyons , some so far we couldn’t turn the canoe around. A couple of times we camped at the little beach at the end of a canyon. Of course this was around 50 years ago . Thanks for the memories. 😊
Love the video. Thank you for everything you do for us, RV folks and the RV community.
Our pleasure!
Beautiful! Hey guys 👋😲,
Nice set up. You RV's sure know how to live large. I'm so looking forward to being one of you. Thanks for sharing your happiness and for saying you are welcome too. It's refreshing to see people enjoying the simple little things of life that bring us together. Thanks again. ✌️😁
Thank you! We love the lifestyle. When does your Someday start?
@todayissomeday if all goes as planned Jan. 2026. 🫵😉 I will see you out there Someday soon.
We love the Dell's! Before we retired we had a camper in a season site at Mason Lake for 5 years. (just down the road for the Dells) Last time we were there to visit we finally did the River Tour and also the Ducks. Both were great. That looks like you had a great meetup, so much fun.
The Murphy's Bed in the Winnebago is awesome! We spent 9 months last year in a 22' travel trailer so it can be done in a small rig. Loved the RV Unplugged - best reality show since Boston Rob and Ambah on the original Survivor...
We had a blast with RVU.
Great views! The Dells look awesome! Keep enjoying the 24 ft RV life! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Will do!
We just moved down from a 37' travel trailer to a 25' sprinter and we love it. So much easier to travel and setup.
Welcome to my Backyard. We are still stationary about 20 minutes north east of the Dells at Emrick Lake RV Resort. The Resort is only 2 years old it use to be a boy scout camp.
Oh!! Yay!!We're headed toward the Dells in about two weeks. Fresh ideas.
And I love the caravan with Newstate Nomads!!
I've wanted to travel smaller, but I'm the wone with the HUGE closet of cloths. But for a shorter time, and when I've truly learned what I need for full time and what I don't need. We're only a year in. (and still have some of the extras we set out with last year *blush*)
Thank you!!!
PS that charcuterie spread was AmAZiNG!
The ferry to Washington Island is a MUST!
Hi guys! Looks like a really fun Muster get together. I hope you had a wonderful visit with your son. Safe travels!! 😊❤️👏👏
Thank you 🤗
The dells is fun. The speedboat rides look like fun too. We did the duck tour. But I want to do
the witch gulch tour next. My son lives in Wisconsin...I visit on occasion from Arizona. Lots to do and see there. Last summer we did Mackinaw island.
Excellent tour very informative and enjoyable.😃😃
If you get to Wisconsin again take Highway 14 between Madison and LaCrosse instead of the Interstate. It is the area they call unglaciated, the last glaciers went around it and left the bluffs. It is a very good road I drove it hundreds of times in the past. You will go not far from Frank Lloyd wrights house and the House on the Rock.
Great update about your journey! Thanks!
You are so welcome!
Looks like y'all had a nice group and a good time.
Beautiful area up there.
Sounds like y'all are adjusting to the smaller rig. Now the question is, how are you going to adapt back to the big rig ?
Phil, man, it's great to see that you redeemed yourself. As long and hard as you worked to get that one, I don't blame you for not taking it off. 👍👍
Y'all enjoy your time with your family.
God bless y'all and stay safe on your travels.
And stay away from Texas for a little while longer. In north central Texas heat index of 105 to 110 projected for over a week out. 😩
We were just there. We stayed at the Casino and did the same boat tour. Also interesting is House on the Rock, which isn't too far away!
Boat cruise was fantastic the Dell’s were beautiful must visit there one of these days! Stacy was pulling for team red, hope Phil didn’t rub it in too bad.
Thanks. It was really fun to shoot RVU.
What a fun time. I really enjoyed your video as always❤
Live in Wisconsin, the boat tours are beautiful. Lots of options on the water. It's where the original Ducks started.
Welcome to my neck of the woods. Hope you enjoyed your visit to my beautiful state.❤
Cherry Kijafa is a wine. You should add it to your RC Cola (or Pepsi). My Mom's favorite way to drink pop.
Yaaaaaay!! Video in shorter RV!!
I'm glad you made it to The Dells! You didn't show it but I hope you did the water parks, lots O fun.
Next time!
God Bless both of you. ❤❤
This looks so much fun. 🤩
Love to visit this place currently in New Hampshire. What a awesome place ❤🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸
Have fun!
Phil better have Ice Cream in the Dairy State. Custard is better and local spots all over the state. The Dells is a great attraction here in my home state. Lots more to the tourist area that bills itself as America's largest water park (multiple) than the river, but that is the main attraction with the rock formations.
Oh, I have some really good ice cream in WI. We really like Wisconsin and will be back.
The river tour was amazing and so beautiful. As i watched yall hiking i was noticing that i might be able to take my wife on that hike in her wheelchair. Thnks for sharing
Yes, this is accessible.
Charcuterie is French for “I’d like a sandwich, but I don’t have any bread.”
😂😂😂
Charcuterie and mimosa brought to you by the generation raised on Lunchables and sunny D.
Surprised me when you said Auburndale. Had I known, I would have rolled out the red carpet and maybe even baked a cake. 😂
Those tour boats made nice big wakes for us to jump on our jet skis. I only threw two kids off the jet ski because the wave was too big. Did you know they have a drive-in theater?
Wonderful video as always
Thank you
Must be nice to travel with friends.
I love my Class C, Nimble and comfortable it has everything I need.
We were just in Door County the past 2 weeks. Had I known...
I live just north of the Dells. Beautiful
19:45 🥇🏆
Phil, Admiral McRaven would be proud.
Hand Salute!
Myself i believe the smaller unit would be much better, easier to manuver around the towns and Parking and presumeably cheaper to operate, i use to haul a 21 foot Trailor and it was plenty big for the four of us. Halifax Nova Scotia
I would be concerned with towing a vehicle with this class C. It’s not all about the torque or hp. There’s a weight ratio that needs to be considered for safety. But I know y’all are very knowledgeable with RV’ing and towing, so please be extra cautious. GO NAVY!!
How does that RV do with a TOAD?
It towed fine. I would recommend a lighter toad than ours (4300lbs). It would help with some of the strain going up hill.
We were just there, enjoy
Seam and slack to the center of the rack😊
When were you in the Dells? We went to the Ho-Chunk campground 15 minutes north of you. Yours was much nicer.
Team Phil 🎈🎊🎉🤩
Thank you!
We are also considering downsizing, but are not full timers. We looked at this Winnebago model and have two questions: 1: I'm 6'4"... Will I fit in the Murphy bed with my normal sized wife? 2: How did your Jeep pull behind the Winnebago, and how many pounds is your Jeep? THX! - Your Red 33aa friends from Oregon
Your feet would hang off the bed. I am 5'11" and my feet are on the edge. Our Jeep is around 4200 lbs.
Yeah, not being full time, when we travel to the nice weather and spend more time being outside to enjoy the views and such. We travel with a 27' Airstream.
Hi
Enjoy the videos. We have a 40’ Tiffin Phaeton 2004 really like this rig, our second one. On one of your videos you had a solution you mixed for cleaning the shower, water, vinegar and another ingredient, I had them written down but lost it, and I cannot remember the youtube episode. Can you tell me the solution mix again, I saw you have started using Release, good product.
Thanks. It was water, vinegar, and dawn liquid soap (blue).
Thanks for your videos. We always appreciate the information you share. Could you give information on the hitch for the bikes that is in addition to the tow vehicle hitch? Is that a winnebago thing?
No, it is an aftermarket piece we bought. It is a 10" rise/drop dual hitch receiver from Rigid. I found it on Amazon when we started 6 years ago.
@@todayissomeday Thank you for your quick response 😊
Looks like a nice rv.
Was wondering what is the cargo carrying capacity and how much the rv wight after you load it up ?
Just curious can you use the bed when the slide is in?
Yes, we can.
Is it true the motor in that 24T is 160hp (262lb ft torque) Merc diesel? If so, does it really pull your towed vehicle well? That seems to be underpowered (even for diesel stats) when pulling a towed vehicle. Our Newmar DS 4369 at 450hp (1250lbft torque) struggles pulling our Expedition up long grades. Thx
We have been mainly on flat(ish) roads and haven't really noticed the toad being an issue.
We do a 28' Class C!
That's home for me.
Curious if a better mattress would fit in there? How is their mattress?
We would need a better mattress for sure with my back issues. The issue is with space and weight. With the Murphy bed, there isn't a lot of space for a thicker mattress. The motor to lift the bed might not be strong enough to lift anything heavier than what it comes with.
@@todayissomeday yeah that's what I was thinking would be the issues. Enjoying your channel immensely.
How comfortable is that mattress?
It's ok. We would need a better mattress for my back.
I like it. Not sure about my wife. AND the price$🇨🇦
What is the ccc of the coach? What is the weight capacity of the bed?
The CCC is much lower than our rig. It is well known that Class C's in general have low CCC. We hardly had anything in it during our testing period, so we didn't pay attention to it. I am not sure what the bed capacity is. We never even thought about that.
I was rooting for the red team and Stacy to win and then the blue team won.
Broncos won Phil!!!
Good start to the new year!
Are you missing your rig yet?
No, even though it's just me I couldn't. I need more room
👍
You need a Beddy !
What the deal with the wood under the mattress it looks wrap?????
It is the style of bed, not warped at all. The wood acts a s a spring.
Winnebago, don’t they have bad roofs?
I have not heard anything about roof issues.
But I can say is there is no such thing as a perfect RV. Before a purchase get it inspected by a certified inspector. It doesnt matter who built it. Its the only way to protect yourself.
Are you still towing your car?
Yes, we are.
White Russian. How clever!
I still rather have a travel trailer.
Nice, but too pricey $$$.
I don't see any advantage if you still need to tow a vehicle
The toad is so we don't have to break camp and drive the 24T into town every time we need to make a run in.
If we were going that small we would just get a Lance truck camper. We then can off load the camper and use the truck to explore. You guys are awesome and good luck in a small space.
