    I would rather watch this than any TV programme that's on. I swear that TV content producers have no idea what people want to watch. This isn't just DIY - it's the 'connectedness' people feel to the family and the heritage going on here. Even watching the bacon fry is heartwarming! A very British cottage in the middle of France - lovely!

      Michael the nicest part of your vlogs is the fabulous music that you usually team up with your themes when you have time . I personally feel your ability to use and find gorgeous musical scores is world class and I swoon when I get a taste of music that I’ve never heard before, also when you get time your lovely photography is inspiring. I agree, nomebear, the Petherick family is amazing. There may be people more skilled in a specific area but they are landscape artists, historians, architects, carpenters, cooks and musicians. And they just plain know how to get things done.

    • @loloholmes2793
      @loloholmes2793 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jacobbarwick86 I was thinking the same thing. If not for Mr Pethrick & Shaune, I highly doubt Michael would where he is. Did he catch that the beams needed sanding for the floor boards to lay properly, or was it Shaune who caught it & Michael's taking credit... Sure he has ideas but Michael doesn't have the SKILL SET or KNOWLEDGE to execute his plans... Without his father & Shaune guiding him every step of the way, he'd be as lost & confused as his new puppy. Those men are skilled Craftsmen you can see it in the attention to detail.

      @@loloholmes2793 Lolo; Please don’t minimize the efforts or talents of one person over another. Mick, Sean and Michael make a fantastic family team. They work and support each other in every way. What one doesn’t know the others do know. They balance each other very well. Age and experience plays a part. Michael is the youngest and a very talented young man who researches and perfects anything he does. He’s very willing to learn and acknowledges when he’s wrong. They all balance each other in their knowledge and skills. Mick (Mr Petherick) must be so proud of his family.

    I have to say that one of the things that make these videos great is the editing with picturesque images of the land. I mean, the video is about laying a floor, but you make us remember that it's part of a group of old buildings, in the french countryside. Very aesthetic you could say. I hope we can see new videos with all this visual poetry. Cheers

Amazing how we were so attracted to the chateau and all it’s glorious beauty and now all we want to see is the cottage. At this point all I’m interested in are the beautiful grounds and the cottage until it’s 100% completed moved in and every corner done and shared with us. ☺️ and the greenhouse is spruced up and the front yard landscaped and manicured. The vacuum attachment to the sander gets a good amount of dust but we could see a lot that escapes. You said yourself that it was dusty. So please wear a mask for all dusty projects.

    Michael, what a great job you and your father and friends are doing! Every single penny that folks have donated to the restoration of this cottage is shown WORTHY because we SEE your hard work and dedication (even staying up all night to complete tasks so that others (AND you!) can continue on the next day)! It's just amazing, Michael! Every single detail that you care about doing right is totally worth it! It will be exactly as you envisioned it to me and it's very exciting for all of us to see your vision come to light! Well done, my youtube friend, and continue carrying on as you've been doing! What a joy to be brought along through videos on this incredible restoration! Teresa

    When floorboards were nailed down they had a nail at each side of the board on each joist to stop the boards curling at the sides, a single nail in the middle of each board will allow them to curl over time.
