Yes, homeless folks are people; however, people must follow the law. And I think it's not right that people take public spaces as their permanent residents. I personally do not like seeing a homeless tent in the park or on the sidewalk. And there are already lots of options for Seattle homeless people to find a home. I don't agree with the idea that Americans came as colonists and therefore people can do drugs and trash the public spaces. Yes the land belongs to nature, but realistically, it is governed by rules set by the entire community that we all have to follow. That's just life man.

What are the options for homeless to find a home?

@@shelly1928 Go to one of the many shelters available in Seattle and rest of King County. King County doesn't have a capacity issue. We have a drug issue. People aren't buying drugs in shelters, they're doing it on the street, so sellers are also on the street. It's just easier since the police are not allowed to clear them currently so it's basically legalized open drug market when enforcement is not allowed.

I never witnessed rampant homelessness until about 2010.
It has been fostered by drugs and mental health issues and a lack of services that are available to address these issues. Historically families and relatives once took care of one another.
