Thanks for the excellent video. Helped me reprogram a new remote for my Toyota Avalon 1997 XLS...The dealership was asking for 50 dollars plus taxes for a job that took me less than 5 minutes!
Worked great for me. I used a small short piece of thick speaker wire for a jumper. Make sure to leave jumper pluged in till you hear the locks lock and unlock with your fob.
im looking at a 1996 toyota avalon xl with 80k miles and it is very clean in and out. they are asking $3000, is that a good deal? For whatever reason the KBB is less than 2K.

while you connect wire between 2 slot you also click lock , unlock button on remote. If you hear clicking sound of door lock and unlock then it's working.
This procedure failed on my car. I had the jump wire into 11 and 12. Pushed buttons, nothing happened. Will be returning remote. I guess the keyless system on my car is no longer viable, it is old. But this video left much to be desired. Didn't really show correct box to unplug. Didn't show actual wire being inserted. Didn't show pushing remote keys to reprogram system. Didn't show how to finish the procedure. Poor.
When you jump cable to those two holds and press remote You should hear a clicking noise of door lock and unlock. If that happens then it means working
any wire about 1 feet. after you jump both sides to 2 slots then you will hear noise cliking lock and unlock. that's it. it now working then test your remote control.

Rafael I bought one a year ago as well with 94k miles for 2800 and hasn’t gave me any problems since. It’s my daily now!
Do I need to add power to jump wire?? It never enters cycle mode. Do I need a door open?
Will using a paper clip work between the cables?

Your vehicle uses a 3 button remote. Luckily the same circuitry and firmware is applied to both versions

yes. use a short wire to connect between two boxes as shown in the video.

Can I use this if I never had a keyless remote? Does the alarm part work?

there is no change on the alarm part. this is how to connect a new key to your alarm system.

This is specifically for the factory RS3000 security system from Toyota. If your Avalon or Camry doesn’t have that, you’re out of luck.
