Well, maybe Walt´s motives circles around the idea of putting Jess against Gus...and also to make Jess think he´s got an ally on him. Meaning that after this incident, Jess could easily start to trust Walt and follow his leads forever
@@shawnd181 to be fair Krazy 8 wasnt using kids for dealing and as well not killing them as well. even tho walt is a psychopath even he thinks killing kids is crossing the line ironically.
@@steverogers6572 well I wouldn’t say that, later on in season 5 he didn’t really care when Todd shot that kid, did he? He was relieved! Man was whistling while dissolving the child’s body
Man, i hate you breaking bad fanboys so much, why do you always have to use the lamest superlative each time... At the very least try to be creative. For example: "The next two episodes are the objectively best content that has and will ever be displayed on pixels in all of human history, and maybe even beyond that."
That Gus scene was TERRIFYING. I actually recoiled when he stood up. I understand the Gus hype now. I'm going to look at Moff Gideon a bit differently now.
I am so glad i am rewatching this with you guys many years later a younger me never picked up on the exact half measure reference to tomas, thats crazy!
One of the genius parts of BB is convincing everyone Walt is still a good guy although there is far more evidence to the contrary. Walt getting Jesse hired and Gale fired was for Walt's own interests (protecting Hank, and [spoiler]). Taking these two thugs out was not to protect Jesse. It was still Walt looking out for himself, albeit in less obvious ways [spoiler reasons]. Walt does not care if Jesse succeeds in anything (making meth, having a girlfriend, a future of any kind) unless it also benefits himself and his breaking bad pursuits. The number one telling proof is that Jesse is the only character that Walt is completely willing to dismiss one second and then be his best friend when he needs something (whether it's something from Jesse or something that Walt ultimately needs).
Yeah, I disagree with this. There is a ton of evidence that Walt actually cares for Jessie. The fact that he's still around at this point is already a pretty clear indication of this. Walt is still a psychopath who doesn't value relationships and lives as much as the next guy, but the bit of affection he has, he spreads around Hank, Skyler, Walt Jr., and, undeniably, Jessie.
Wtf? Walt had nothing to gain from this. It would have been in his best interest to let Jesse die here. Walt cared for Jesse as a son. Remember when Jane's dad said 'never give up on family" and Walter was thinking of Jesse. Or when Walter Jr. came to his apartment and Walter accidently called him 'Jesse"
I LOVE the story mike told. I'd want a side show on Mike. You could see the visuals as he told it. I'm pretty sure Walt did it to help Jesse the kids have no connection for walt to really care. And yes everyone says walt saves Jesse but Jesse never asks to be saved. If Walt would have just let Jesse do it with the ricin I think it would have gone easier but when I first saw this episode i had the same facial expressions. I died laughing when skyler met Saul it's like how is this gonna go. Loved your reaction. Also nothing this show does is a filler everything they do is for a reason as Morgan says in the walking dead "everything comes full circle."
I personally think this episode and the next one are the best episodes of the show. They had me on the edge of my seat for the whole 2 hours they were playing and each one managed to get me to the point where I had to get up and process what I just saw so I could do anything other than say "Holy shit!"
Yeah, Walter is loyal to a fault sometimes. That's why he's likeable despite all the bad things he does. And it explains a lot of why Skylar is so disliked, she's the complete opposite of loyal, repeatedly.
I've been watching the series for the first time recently as well (currently early in S5), and the last two episodes of this season were phenomenal. I had the same reaction to Walt shooting the guy in cold blood. He's killed people before, but this is the point I lost a lot of sympathy for him.
They just killed an 11 year old kid in cold blood. During the time period when the show was taking place, New Mexico still had the death penalty. If the two drug dealers were ever successfully prosecuted for killing that boy, they might very well have been executed by the state for it. That doesn't make Walter's vigilantism legally justified, however precipitated by Jessie's attempt at vigilantism, but it sure does contextualize it. Walter also believes he is saving Jessie's life, which again is not legally justified because Jessie is the aggressor here, but it does add some moral context.
The cleaner’s name is MIKE... not like they just introduced him. Only the most iconic character and you guys are still calling him Wolf like it’s Pulp Fiction.
I'm really not trying to hate, I love this channel, but wtf. I wanna see your reaction to these things not just your opinions. Y'all need to do this like GOT. Show your reaction then discuss it afterwards. I dont mean to be rude, but it's like fucking blue balls just seeing your post episode thoughts.
The link to the reaction is in the description, in the pinned comment, mentioned by the crew in the video, displayed in text for like 10 seconds in the video. If you can't figure out how to watch it after all that, then you don't really deserve to.

Mike's "half measures" speech is one of my favorite scenes from the show.
ZachCS Pretty sure Bryan Cranston took that and used it for inspiration in a speech he made in the show Sneaky Pete.
I hung on to every word.
Walt coming out of nowhere and running them over might be the first time a tv show legitimately shocked me. My mouth was wide open just like theirs.
Jesse's reaction is our reaction.
Mike's speech in this episode is amazing, I could seriously listen to that guy tell me stories all day
I was super hyped when all of a sudden he showed up on the show "Community." Great actor.
Half & Full Measure are such a great 1-2 punch. Jaw droppingly good TV
Chris Sewell Full Measures is my favorite of the whole series.
Well said
Chills every time I see the last 10 mins of Full Measure
"Will Walt get there in time?" "Well, what's Walt gonna say?"
Heheheheheh... :O
Vroom vroom vroom

An ending scene like that, I'm reminded of Season 1 and I think,
"Remember when Walt had a hard time killing Krazy-8?"
Fr, Walt made a whole pros and cons list, asked the victim for reasons not to skill him and even said sorry after, I’m loving the transformation

One of the all time great TV Episodes, remarkable when you think there are even better ones to come.
I love Mike’s half measures speech sooooo much!

Calvin's delayed reaction. hahah

How was Walt protecting himself by killing the two dealers? Sounds like you're just blinded by hatred for him.

Better Call Saul is also technically a show about Mike.
Yeah as the other comment says better call saul is Mike's backstory too. Its 60% saul 40% Mike and is fantastic
Mike is the secondary protagonist of Better Call Saul. BCS is as much about Mike as BrBa is about Jesse.

Walt gets a lot of hate, some of it deserved, but this beloved duo is still loyal towards each other.

How do they go so long without knowing Mike’s name?
Because it hasn't been said in the show yet
The cleaner’s name is MIKE... not like they just introduced him. Only the most iconic character and you guys are still calling him Wolf like it’s Pulp Fiction.
Funny enough, nobody in the show has called him Mike yet. That is why they have no idea what his name is
His character is also inspired by the Pulp Fiction character since the writers love Pulp Fiction.
His name hasn't been said in the show.
Great reaction but you guys think too highly of Walt 😂
