I came looking for a definition of positionality and your video was very helpful. I particularly appreciated how you provided so many examples. Three take-aways for me right off are blind spots, reading material that challenges or irritates us, and consulting colleagues whom we know to have a worldview different from ours. All very helpful advice. Thank you :o)
Thank you for this, I’m struggling to wrap my head around how my postionality affects how I perceive the world around me and how I engage within it. Jargon is so clunky sometimes, for the non academic community, and at the same time I believe it’s vital to understand what these terms mean, so can communicate these meanings to my non academic peers, in their own language. Hope that makes sense...
Certain things can be changed, but it depends. Being white in a society that favors being white, for example: you can't change that you are white, but the degree to which your society favors being white can change.
This is just my opinion after learning about this topic, but it seems to me that some aspects of positionality cannot be changed, while other aspects will change due to life circumstance. For instance, I will always be a white woman, but I will not always be a grad student. I will always be a mother, but I will not always be a runner. I think of it like "identity," although I'm not sure if the two terms are interchangeable.

Very informative, thank you!
Thank you so much for this video 🎀
Excellent!! Thanks!
Would you recommend to write our positionality in a scoping, systematic review?
Is positionality something that can be changed or is it immutable?
