I came to like Maryse later, but now she is prejudiced to the downworlders and horrible to Izzy.

Maryse is so cold towards Izzy and Alec but warm towards Jace. She hugs Jace and not her own children.

Nicola scared me when I first saw her, but she was amazing in role of Maryse. I didn't like her at first because of prejudices about downwolders, but then after she became a mundane I felt sorry for her and liked her, and after the dinner with Alec and Magnus I loved her and now she's one of my favorites...

Evangeline Forester and besides, people can’t just expect the series to be exactly like the books.
No matter how disappointed people were with it, it’s always going to be better than the Percy Jackson movies
Fr like the show cant be exactly like the books cause it might bore the audience, they have to change things in order to keep it interesting and do what feels better for tv. And this comes from someone who has watched the show more than one time and also read the books more than once

Jamie Campbell Bower from the City of Bones film. I saw that first, and he was the perfect Jace for me

I didn't like Maryse in the book and I don't like her in the TV show. She's such a jerk to everyone!
I hadn't problem with here because she (usually) helped and loved her children (but true, I was very angry at her at the City of Ash because what she did with Jace), but in the show, she is a realy asshole!

Thanks. It's been forever since I tried to read the book and I know I didn't get as far as meeting Alec and Isabelle's parents.
Augiegrl12 It's fine! In the books she is really...kinda stiff but not enough to sacrifice her kids' happiness. She is kinda harsh to Jace but only because of certain circumstances....which since I don't watch the show I don't know if this is going to be spoilery but she's only harsh to him when she thinks he is Valentines' son, and even then they make amends. So, no in the books she is not a "witch."
I've seen the film, if Jace possibly being Valentine's son was the spoiler you were talking about. :) If not, then no worries. I'm pretty busy atm and can't really reread the series, though I hear it's a great series. So anything to help me along w/ this new take on the book helps.
