From my personal experience, in wheezing dragonite decks you really don’t wanna run that dark energy, the wheezing is strictly there to wall, maybe get a lil chip damage from poison but just wall until you can get the two dragonite attacks. Not having to invest the energy like you do with frosmoth is huge. I know I’m being that guy who says “but I got wins with it so it must be good” but I do really feel like the deck is underrated.
you can’t run dark energy because then you can’t draco meteor with dragonite (needs a water and electric). still prob my favorite dragonite deck tho. aerodactyl is also pretty fun but idk if it’s necessarily better.
Moltres EX is also not weak to water, which is a huge thorn for Starmie-Articuno and water decks as a whole when trying to deal with Charizard and Arcanine decks which it should have no issues dealing with.
They very quickly 2 shot your moltres anyways, arcanine isn’t bad against them BUT charizard still struggles because they don’t tech Giovanni to one shot the starmie back with arcanine. If Charizard gets the dream start its GGs but what’s more likely is starmie runs it off the board before it’s fully set up Weakness isn’t what gives it a favored matchup, its speed
This is the reverse of the main problem with Starmie/Articuno. The other two legendary birds don’t share a weakness with their energy type, but Articuno and every other water type in the game except Frosmoth is weak to Electric. If Articuno were weak to Fire, Fighting, or Metal, then Starmie/Articuno would have a slightly better match-up into Pikachu, and would probably be at the bottom of S tier instead of the top of A.
@@TillyTCG Problem for Starmie is that it's looking for one specific card to become S Tier, a Poke Ball that finds stage one EX pokemon. Charizard EX is looking for ANY Poke Ball to become better: stage 1 EX, stage 1 non-EX, stage 2 EX, and maybe even stage 2 non-EX. The three chase crowns are Pikachu EX, Mewtwo EX, and Charizard EX. They got the first two in S Tier decks already. They'll try to find a way to make Charizard EX better, somehow. Starmie better pray to the gods that the next Poke Ball can find a stage 1 EX pokemon. But, I find that unlikely.
That’s what I thought too but if you look at the data… it’s like 30-40% win percentage against anything that isn’t Mewtwo 😭 with wigglytuff it’s a different story tho
Ive been playing wigglytuff weezing and its so much fun. I imagine my wigglytuff looking like he walked out of a hot topic and is singing poppunk because its a darkness deck.
Articuno and Greninja can be S tier. There’s already some talks about it but we need another week. Obamna went 13-0 with it in ursi weekly pocket and reached semi finals, eliminated by bad draws.
If I only have 1 Ark ex would it work in the zard deck, or not having 2 for consistancy means it would be better playing it with aerodactyl or orther things?

Great List, I can agree with most of it no problem. Charizard-Arcanine is doing so well, I've been wanting to play it since it's first tournament win, I have every single card in the deck, two golden charizards and yet not a single arcanine comes home. F2P things I guess.
I know I want him to be better ): if we ever get dragon type support he’ll be scary. That attack is so insane if you can consistently do it even just twice in one game
I also have a baby articuno/dragonite deck and I think it's an ok deck. I just finished building my mewtwo/gardevoir including 1 baby mewtwo and faced a Dragonite deck and even tho he hit a Dragon Meteor, it didn't matter because I already had 2 Mewtwo EX, baby Mewtwo and Gardevoir on the board, so 200 damage spread didn't do much for him and I one shotted Dragonite with Mewtwo EX + Giovanni. Some other decks are also pretty fast to setup and Dratini/Dragonair are very susceptible to Sabrina if you don't have another pokémon, and even if it doesn't get finished, you'll have to spend energy or X-speed. Dragonite is very cool but the other decks setup way faster and can 1 or 2 shot it no problem most of the times.
Yeah I wish dragonite was good, but being stage 2 is already rough enough let alone needing to stall so hard in a deck that can't accelerate dragonite's attack with no energy ramping cards for the dragons.
Ngl I tried Charka9 immidiately after seeing your first video on it since it was my chase deck to start the game. Ive played other TCG but I'm surprised how many people came at your neck for promoting a "bricky" deck that "doesn't optimize on original Charizard". To me immediately assumed that people don't know what actually bricking is because in situation where you could have nothing but item cards you had an entirely different pokemon line instead. Shout out for doing your hw and showing me this deck ahead of the curve
I play Gengar with 2 Jynx that I can either use as a wall or to slowly chunk away at the opponents cards that require a lot of energy so that Gengar can finish everyone off once I get him set up. I then run 2 potions and x speeds so I can keep Jynx up and swap her out once I evolve to Gengar. It's worked pretty well for me so far, but I'm also no competitive player. Slap on some Gios and Sabrinas and you can bully the opponent pretty well. I tried using the Golbat variant, but I couldn't find much success with it and it felt like I was wasting time that could've been spent just evolving the main man. Plus Jynx is a good finisher to their ex pokemon if you have one on your bench.
I've been playing a lot of jolteon and zapdos recently, the deck is kind of inconsistent and feels like a slightly more consistent version of machamp- marowak with a better typing and playing non ex pokemon
@@TillyTCG Its a silly deck that I think does pretty well against charizard(hits moltres for super effective early and could kill before they get to setup with good rng) and mewtwo js cause its a faster dps output but it REALLY struggles against pikachu and starmie
I hope you're cooking with the Exeggutor/Greninja deck because I've been maining Venusaur/Exeggutor since launch and noticed that Exeggutor does all the heavy lifting. Shame to see it in C tier under Blastoise.
23:40 I actually got most of my wins in the last PvP event with a "Greeninja" deck that I brewed 😂 Mono-grass energy to make sure you get Exeggutor up on-curve, with Misty for energy fixing on Greninja. I'd love to see what you came up with! Great list and analysis here by the way.
Greninja decks are amazing, I'm running a wigglypuff greninja deck, not necessarily 100% reliable cuz of coin flips but god damn is it annoying when it works. Honestly the most fun Ive had with the game in a while. Best part, mono energy and you can throw a single kangas in there for fun.
@@WellnessIKIGAI That sounds solid! The Kanga sounds good too, I like running 5 basics in most of my decks for consistency, and Kanga is an awesome HP wall for setting up your backline evolutions.
OMG dude.. I share about 97% of your opinions. The one that stings the most for me was Venusaur/Exeggutor. Yes Mewtwo is a bad matchup, but against Pikachu EX I'm stopping on it as long as I got Exeggutor up front before the first KO. Personally feel like Venusaur/Exeggutor would be at B tier. Exeggutor provides way better tempo than any Machamp deck. On top of that Venusaur/Exeggutor forces the opponent to go through 2 of the most bulkiest EX in the game currently.
Venusaur is probably my most played deck, and I just see too many flaws. Exeggutor is amazing but I think venu is just a bad partner for him. Wait for tomorrows vid lol you’ll never play the venu variant again
Well that's why exegcutor is ran, 40 to 80 damage for one energy is pretty fearsome, and in my opinion you can't take arcanine Charizard as a decent deck without acknowledging venasaur exegguctor as at least as good
The new Jigglypuff makes Dragonite-Articuno much more viable. Everything is a 1 prize, and you have both paralyze and sleep. Still, I think it's hard pressed to beat Mewtwo or Charizard, but it's fun to play.
I agree Blastoise is B tier but I do think the Tentacruel option may be the best wall for him. Worst case scenario, Tenta is just a 110 hp wall. There are some scenarios where you can afford to actually attack with tenta and that gives an option when you do not draw your stage 2.
Mankey Kobutops is better than mankey cubone. You are always guaranteed mankey in your first hand, can drop the poke ball cards for extra supporters or items that aren’t dead cards. Plus, kobutops outright wins some matchups especially cleaning up after primeape hits for a 100 once or twice with or without gio.
I've tried every deck from C to S tier list except exeggcutor ex bc I only have 1. This tier list is pretty solid but I think articuno greninja should be on S tier bc I'm often win the game when I have articuno and misty on turn 1 or 2

I think weezing dragonite deserves to be in C at least. Removing the darkness energy makes a hell of a difference and can hold it’s own against pikachu ex and mewtwo ex meta decks. Ofc good draws matter too 😅
There is a like someone who gather the data from 30k games and it saying Mewtwo is clearly not performing as good as we think. Among the best performing decks which have a 55%+ winrate, 4 Pikachu decks variants come first, then Arcanine/Sulfura.
Idk why some people are mad at you for putting Arbok Weezing in C tier. I definetly agree it should be C tier. I tried it, it only performs good if you have the right card hand, you are prone to lose with bad hand. The deck also requires high skill to be able to success, gotta know when to Sabrina, retreat, sacrifice, etc, one mistake can disadvantage you. Even againts Mewtwo Ex, it still struggles like 50/50 matchup. Weezing Wiggly is arguably better than Arbok.
If your still looking for people to play against in specific match ups I'm willing to help do so. Also setting up a discord server I have very little knowledge of how to do so however I'd be happy to help moderate and take some of the burden off. Weezing Arbok with Muk is pretty much the same power as without Muk. Not sure why you dismiss it so easily, look at the Weezing Arbok tops and Arbok and Muk seem interchangeable, or try the deck and see the same thing. Weezing with Arbok and/or Muk is all the same power.
You have more consistency with Weezing Arbok because you need less setup to get a good payoff for your attack

The game needs more EX cards for other energy types. While I enjoy the current meta, I would like to see other energy types also take the spotlight in tournaments.
idk id put venusaur deck at c cause ive seen many success against meta decks and even if you have to sacrifice 2 prize points to get venusaur set up, with erika and potions with the 30+ heal it is unkillable lol
Im honestly surprised you ranked the venusaur variants over the exegg variants. I much prefer butterfree exegg over both venu butterfree and venu exegg for example(same with exegg liligant vs venu lili). Not saying the decks would rank highly, or even at all, im just surprised the venu versions did get mentioned when i feel like the exegg variants are just strictly better. Anyway, good video. Mostly agree with the placements, and I appreciate the thorough reasoning given for the placements.
If I’m not blind I run a deck that’s not on here and I win 95% of my games whether or not I go first or second. The other percent is just me bricking which happens sometimes cause my 1st or second stage is literally the last card. It has enough sustain to take me to endgame and enough utility to deal 90 damage a turn once barely setup and 120 if the stars align (not including weakness). It’s a duo energy and it’s not Dragonite. Gonna try a Tournament with it cause I beat MewTwo’s and Pikachu’s without even breaking a sweat XD
You should mention in the beginning of every tier list video that these rankings are strictly about how well the decks are doing in competitive play and tournaments, not random matches. People get really mad when you put some decks lower and also too stupid to figure out these are tournament rankings even though you mentioned data so many times.
Top of A until the little guy proves himself. Outside of a couple placements, he usually lives in the top 16 of the really big tournaments. I think next week might be his week though if charizard meta share continues to rise and people metagame properly
Problem of gengar is not really about damage and HP, it's about ability, you need to have this early so that stop your opponent use trainer oak, but gengar is a grade 2 pokemon, and ability only acitve when you are in acitve spot so ...
I’m not saying they’re all bad, I’m saying a better version of a deck with the same attacker exists. I think just about every deck can win games, but there is an objective best partner for every attacker
I've won some matches against higher tier decks using Wigglytuff EX + Dugtrio only, doesn't mean anything. No deck is unbeatable and luck is also a very strong factor, the top decks are just more consistent and resilient overall.
I agree in everything but Charizard, its just too slow, with the evolutions and the four energies are alot of bad things that could happen along the way.
Your list is stupid, you put machamp in B while Venu in C? If it’s based off tournament performance that deck got first and has had better results in the past. Then there’s Exgge / Greninja… 🤦🏻♂️
The only thing that I find "dumb" is Venusaur being in the same tier as Weezing/Arbok. That thing surprisingly counters Pikachu EX more than Mewtwo EX, although that makes 2 top meta decks it's good against.
I think new wiggly has to get figured out first. For now B tier is fair, but I did say it has the potential to rank higher! It’s felt really good so far
also the thing is, any deck that relies on a coin flip mechanic (moltres) will always be inferior compared to pikachu and mewtwo. i bet those 2 wins got insanely lucky with those flips.
The BIGGEST weakness to Charcanine EX is the evolutions & flipping 🪙. You flip poorly on Moltres, you lose. You can't find your next stage, you lose. Articuno or any water gets nutty on Misty, you lose. Mewtwo outspeed you, you lose. Pikachu gets 2 energy while you're flipping poorly on Moltres, you lose. But when RNG is on your side? Godly

Also setting up a discord server I have very little knowledge of how to do so however I'd be happy to help moderate and take some of the burden off. There's lots of comments here so I doubt you'll see this but if you do I'd love to talk about this more let me know if I can be of help to you.
Next time you’re in stream I’ll mod you :) ill get something setup for the regular viewers soon
@@TillyTCG awesome I wrote this right when I clicked on the video I did not expect a reply by the time I made it to the end of the video 🤣. I look forward to the next live stream as the first one was so much fun fellow galvantula lover :)
Does Lapras not exist? 😢
Sad to see Onix Golem here but not it's cooler brother Onix Kabutops
Weezing Arbok with Muk is pretty much the same power as without Muk. Not sure why you dismiss it so easily, look at the Weezing Arbok tops and Arbok and Muk seem interchangeable, or try the deck and see the same thing. Weezing with Arbok and/or Muk is all the same power.
The best finishes of Arbok are so much better than muk version, half of Muks best finishes are barely positive records or neutral.
You have more consistency with Weezing Arbok because you need less setup to get a good payoff for your attack
The game needs more EX cards for other energy types. While I enjoy the current meta, I would like to see other energy types also take the spotlight in tournaments.
Fully expect them to add Ex snorlax, dragonite and maybe Aerodactyl to flip the meta with the new booster in a couple if weeks.
Arbok Pigeot isn’t a great deck by any means but man it’s so fun to use
The problem with this is you have to spend an infinite amount of money to get all the ex's...
Thanks for the list
You’re welcome gamer
No ButtMetal or Omastar/Greninja/Snorlax? 😅 I'm sure they'll get placed at B at most, but some fun decks, at least.
idk id put venusaur deck at c cause ive seen many success against meta decks and even if you have to sacrifice 2 prize points to get venusaur set up, with erika and potions with the 30+ heal it is unkillable lol
I’m loving my new Wiggly x Weezing deck
Try golem/starmie; it's not gonna blow your socks off but i think it's the best golem thing you can do.
Venusaur ex + exeggutor easily counters pikachu ex and has decent matchup against mewtwo, it should be way higher.
Not gonna tell us what the deck is? Lol
didn't someone win a tourney with eggsecutor ex wigglytuff ex deck even before the promo jiggly?
What happened to the honest review video?
Try Marowak Ex and Weezing Wall, pray you get the right energy and good coinflips
You should mention in the beginning of every tier list video that these rankings are strictly about how well the decks are doing in competitive play and tournaments, not random matches. People get really mad when you put some decks lower and also too stupid to figure out these are tournament rankings even though you mentioned data so many times.
interesting to put starmie only in A tier even though it beats every decks except pikachu while also being able to abuse misty
I mean, the raichu stand alone deck isn't that good, but kixing my goat raichu with pikachu ex? Now that's where the money is at!
Exeggutor victreebel deck low-key slept on imo
I am swearing to you, arbok/weezing/pidegot is the way to go with these mons
I get that this is your opinion, but ive taken W against many of these decks consistently with several of your "no point" decks.
How is Blastoise higher than Venesaur wtf
Mewtwo and hypno is underrated
Charizard Ex + Arcanine Ex with 2Molyres EX
I agree in everything but Charizard, its just too slow, with the evolutions and the four energies are alot of bad things that could happen along the way.
My duo is very fragile. It consists of two butterfree and one melmetal
nah your sleeping on the ven and lilgant!
Blah the other decks below s tier were just hyped by content creators
Arcanine better than Charizard (2 stages is so bad)
Golurk slander
Deserved sadly
Marowak Onix
Executor ex and wiggly ex
Your list is stupid, you put machamp in B while Venu in C? If it’s based off tournament performance that deck got first and has had better results in the past. Then there’s Exgge / Greninja… 🤦🏻♂️
Venusaur has 0 first places lmao
Since when did Venusaur preformed that well in tournaments!?
@@TillyTCGexactly, hard to get rid of doesn’t mean it’s going to keep with the meta
The only thing that I find "dumb" is Venusaur being in the same tier as Weezing/Arbok. That thing surprisingly counters Pikachu EX more than Mewtwo EX, although that makes 2 top meta decks it's good against.
I've been running promo jiggly puff, wiggly ex and certain water cards and I'm farming these "s tier" decks, don't believe TH-camrs making big claims.
I think new wiggly has to get figured out first. For now B tier is fair, but I did say it has the potential to rank higher! It’s felt really good so far
Try running it in a tornament. They're quite welcoming!
@@LianleoC how do you enter said tournament?
@kingdom2532 "limitless pokemon pocket" in google
also the thing is, any deck that relies on a coin flip mechanic (moltres) will always be inferior compared to pikachu and mewtwo. i bet those 2 wins got insanely lucky with those flips.
Godly
