Ditto. The music's tight but it's the singers diction that takes them to the next level... often when the singing is fast & aggressive the clarity can get lost but not with this guy. On top of that his coarse voice works perfectly. Top drawer.
Sam King always looks/sounds like he's 3 seconds away from vomiting, but he still holds it together and destroys at every show. "Let my blood turn this dirt to mud. What you waitin' for?" might be one of my favourite opening lines to a song ever.
Music that is amazing to me seems to be few and far between. Discovering these guys has been a game changer in the last 3 or 4 days... absolutely AMAZING BAND!! Every song I listen to just makes me more of a fan for different reasons. I love that they incorporate many different styles and seem to elevate each one to a higher level. How it took me as long as it did to become aware of Get Dead eludes the fuck out of me but I’m just grateful that I finally did. Better late than never. This band has most def given my cynical jaded ass a new appreciation for newer punk rock music and I’m beyond grateful for them and what they do. This is REALEST group of guys I’ve come across in too long a time and words can’t express the excitement I feel when I hear another new (to me) banger of theirs. You can tell that they actually LIVE the life their tunes express. Turns out punX not dead after all...haha! Get Dead is definitely one of my new favorite bands by a city mile! Keep what you’re doing, fellas. I’m hooked hard AF!! Cheers 🍻
Your dead on. I love the reggae and ska vibes throughout this album. And I love how three records in, Sam King said 'oh yeah, guys, I used to be a rapper'. Incredibly incendiary awesome album. The other videos from Weekend at Fatty's are great, including the behind the scenes stuff. But I have been watching this Get Dead set almost every day since October. I can't get over it. One of my favourite moments is when Sam King changes the lyrics to "Stick Up" and mimes crushing some insect at 11:34
I listen to get dead a lot traveling the country hung over, stoned and depressed. They make the miles go buy nad I sing along. Thanks dudes. Spray painting all over america blasting get dead, UP THE BUMS!!

I've been listening to Dancing with the curse non stop for months now and somehow watching this live has made me love these guys even more! Cannot wait for international shows to come back so I can see these guys live.
1:26 His eyes rolled back. Belting the absolute truth. In a state of pure bliss. Living for the moment, real shit. Sam King is so real it's unreal. Him and Fat Mike are keeping punk alive and true to its roots. Cheers y'all. This is why All My Best Friends are Metalheads.
Sam King said in an interview recently that he painted the pool house they are performing in front of. It is the colours of the album "So Long and Thanks for All the Shoes."
incredible live energy. they stole this whole show with just 4 songs. best band of the day. when they played stickup, my mouth dropped. and to no surprise, the new record was like a breath of fresh air into punk. my favorite of 2020.
That's actually the song that got me hooked on Get Dead. I'm late to the party. I bought Dancing with the Curse, and it fucking SLAPS. Disruption and Stick-Up are standouts for sure. Best punk record I've heard in a while.
Lol I've got a great Get Dead story. They were playing in Portland Oregon with my cousins old band My Life in Black and White. We were standing around after the show I was getting to know the get dead guys and this younger couple walked up to us with a get dead CD they just bought. They said how much they enjoyed the show and asked if they could get their CD signed. The guys said sure and the "Fans" reached out and handed the CD to me first. I looked at them and smiled and signed the CD and handed it off to the actual band member next to me. Those guys didn't say a thing and went along with it as soon as the "Fans" walked away we all had a nice long laughing session. Hahahaha some people out there have a get dead CD with my name signed on it and they probably don't know any better to this day.
That is a good story chief, but I'm not sure you need to keep accentuating the "Fans' as if they're morons for not recognising you're not one of the group. The positive is they enjoyed the show & by default are fans of great punk music.... I myself have just stumbled upon these lads lately & they are great....
it's hard for me to say this because i love their early work, but this latest album absolutely feels like their finest to date. sam's blade is razor sharp at this point.
That is classic. I must say that Sam's affect is spot on. He looks like he lost a few pounds and is most likely pretty faded. With Andy, he was gone for awhile. Like not in there when you looked into his eyes. I know that sounds dramatic but Andy was wasted. I was there & am not speaking about something that is bullshit. I think the analogy is epic because they do look alike and are two of the most punk chaps that hail from the bay area. If Sam is indeed strung out than motherfuck me. Hopefully this is not the case. Much health & happiness. Cheers!!(A)

All is I can say, HOLY F@$King $h!t. This is bad ass, how have I not heard of them before. Actually watched one of Fat Mike's recent interviews, like last 2 weeks or something. He was asked, WHO IS, about who still writes and performs real punk from back in the day, he said "Get Dead", so I look them up, and Bam, this is my introduction. Its perfect. And Honest, I think if I heard the tracks studio first, I might not have been as blown away. its all great, but this performance was epic, man, wish I was there.
