    I was wondering how the Yaris brakes would perform with all that extra weight but it's really no different than having four passengers in the car What would be cool is to put another bike on the front so you could take a friend ridding with you!

    Ok people are telling me I can’t put my dirtbike on the back of my Toyota RAV4… and you had success putting it on a Yaris🤔. Makes me want to rethink and give it a try on my Toyota RAV4

    I had airbags installed on my half ton pickup. They are awesome. When you don’t have weight in the back you can air them down so you car stays level and not all stink bugged.

    Good set up. All my buddies have these $20k Moto vans or sprinters. I’m thinking of getting a Ford Escape Hybrid and mounting a MC carrier hitch and calling it a day. Good used escape hybrid is only $6k and I can still sleep in it. Saves me a ton of money 💴.

    I love the design, and it's like a Add-A-Bike carrier, but with more support. As someone that owns an Add-A-Bike carrier, your pegs fold in and the bike can most certainly go forward if/when they do...

  • @rswick7

    Love the hold down idea…simple and effective. I’m thinking about buying a hitch and fabricating up so extra supports for something similar to what you did. I’m not too concerned about the weight on the suspension because that’s probably not even the equivalent of having 3 grown 200lb dudes sitting in the back seat. Especially with fuel prices these days I drive my pickup as little as possible

    Great idea, and gas efficient! If I didn't have a "gas guzzling earth destroying truck" I would consider this myself. Where I live is surrounded by parkways and no trailers aloud. If I used a trailer, i would have to take the 18 wheeler truck scenic route and add 30 mins for every trip.

I have a 2018 Subaru Outback 3.6R and it says my tongue weight is 200lb (No Hitch installed) so I am confused... if I get a hitch that's rated at 600lbs at the tongue would that hold my superbike at 410lbs?? Or 200lbs is the MAX I could load onto the tongue?? Thank you in advance!

      Forsure. They love this type of "home made" / scetchy modified stuff. When a hitch or trailer gets built its not just me as a worker that draws up blueprints and starts fabricating. Engineers and stuff do all that as it all boils down to safety and saving lives. Sure you save 3 grand by not going and picking up a cheap used pickup. If your bike falls off because if shitty flux core welds and you get sued it's gonna be alot more than a couple grand.
      And the old ford in the background is worth maybe 8-10 grand. Not 40. And there's absolutely no reason why you would go spend 40 grand on a truck when you can easily find used pickups way WAAAAYYYY more than good enough, and safe enough, to haul around 2 to 3 dirtbikes. I'm not even sure why you would use 40 grand as an example because anyone who watches your channel knows 100% you buy cheap stuff / good deals. You don't go for brand new or expensive stuff. Anyways, hope you don't take my comment the wrong way. Any comments are good comments, just had to throw in my 2¢ coming from a welder wth a couple years behind the torch. By no means do I claim to be an expert welder as no matter what there's always more to learn and techniques can always be fine tuned. Good luck, it looks like in theory it SHOULD hold. But being that I can't see the welds for their entirety I can't say forsure. But hope it all works out and you don't lose your bike or injury someone for the sake of owning a small pickup. I mean you can find little ford Rangers or Chevy, ford, dodge cargo vans for under 2 grand. If you were really pinching pennies guarantee you could find a little pickup for 1000 bucks all registered and all insurance and everything still be under a thousand bucks. Good luck, see you in the next one buddy.

    • @vegasromaniac
      @vegasromaniac  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      i have a trialer , that i eliminated with this project ... i travel more compact, my mpg is 33 , no truck can achieve that , specially a 1000 dollars truck .. will need repairs, and reliability is well ford and chevy ... and if i would get something that big i would rather have a moto van ! it if falls it falls, also there is the question where it falls, and if maybe if somebody hit it. But the same way if you buy one from harbor freight and it brakes 2 year later you are still liable and they are not, so that arguement is driven by fear , plus i had a strap just for that, it will drag the bike behind my car but it wont come off . How many times you saw somebody loosing a couch on the highway or a tire blow out, shit happens. my biggest fear is that somebody hits my car from the back and kills my bike !

    Did you feel the control of your car altered, your front wheels do weird stuff, did you ever lose control - anything at all (frate :D )? Been trying to ask on various reddits what they think of the idea - 99.99% of ppl be like: "this is Armageddon, you gonna die, they gonna die, we all gonna die from your massive out of hand accident, the Earth gonna shatter and split in two, DON't do it!". I'm also wondering: can you do this with 350-400 lbs (full size moto)? I wanna do this with a Grom on a Prius; the Prius is slightly heavier and has a bit more power, Gromsky is in the same weight range. But I wanted to know if I could get on a CB300r or similar 300cc bike.
    PS: I really like the idea. I also have a crazy idea for the arm that holds the bike. It's inspired from photography and quick release plates, or sci fi movie quick release latches. I need to find my self a good CNC guy though or something ;D.

      I have 10k miles with this and works fine I feel the same way almost as when I was hauling a trailer, when i load for a trip I do add heavy stuff in the front seat just to ballance the car but it's not necessary . Any added weight will change the ball ace of the car, but it's nowhere near as bad as bad mouth will say, remember the majority of people are uneducated morons that fear their own shadow, the same people will fear flying planes
