- In this video, I will show you my flying experience with MASwings' ATR72 from Miri to Mulu. This is my very first trip report about MASwings and it's also my first time travelling to Mulu. The 30-minute journey was fantastic with friendly and hospitable cabin crew, Miss Suriya (Senior Cabin Crew) and Mr. Shafiq (Cabin Crew). Salted peanuts, packeted and bottled drinks are served after the seat belt sign is turned off. Service was prompt and attentive. Right after the drink's service, captain made the announcement followed by pre-landing announcement from the inflight purser, Miss Suriya.
MASwings is the most important mode of transportation for people staying inland such as Mulu, Bario, Long Lama and the list goes on. On my flight, a lot of cargos such as parcels, basic necessities and especially food supply being sent to the locals, resort and national park. There were 4 flights to and fro Mulu previously, 2 daily flight from Miri (MYY), 1 daily flight from Kuching (KCH) and 1 daily flight from Kota Kinabalu (BKI) respectively. However, only three-time weekly service from Miri is still operating at this moment due to the pandemic.
To me, this ATR72's flight is beyond my expectation and it's also underrated. This affiliated airline deserves to receive more recognitions. Hopefully the pandemic could be annihilated and things get a better turn in the near future. We are looking forward to having the border re-open and travelling around.

Many years back they use Twin Otter. When I went to Mulu around 10 - 15 years back, it was MAS Fokker 50. Thank you for the great trip report. It brings back my old time memories.
I flew on the Fokker 50 to Mulu and back before too! I liked that little plane.
Fokker 50 was also part of my memories. And it flew me in between Kuching, Sibu, Miri and Bintulu when I was young. I remember the plastic cups and orange juice, cabin crew sometimes give sweets to passengers.

awesome trip report! The FAs were so friendly. They waved their hand as soon as they realized that you're filming. In my country, I've experiemced many time that the FAs of Vietnam Airlines told me to turn off the camera in a rude way, although there aren't any filming restriction rules
Thanks for dropping by and your comment. Indeed the crew onboard MASwings are very nice and friendly. Last year I flew with VN quite often, sad to say that most of them were "robot" and not smiling at all. I guess I was quite lucky because none of the crew stopped me for filming. Hopefully air travel is allowed again in the near future. I would love to try Bamboo Airways.

It's not a new destination to me but it's still my first time being there. lol. I should feel guilty, roaming around the world and yet never been to Mulu for the past 30 plus years in my life. If it wasn't because of the lockdown, guess I still haven't flown to Mulu. Thanks for dropping by.

Flying into Mulu is very challenging with terrain all over the place, and the runway is narrow and short. They really need to touch down on the dot and brake fast. Can’t wait for your next video about mulu.

Miri to Mulu is a very short flight. Hope you can experience the flight from Kuching one day.
