Govt dependency KILLS motivation. Maybe not for EVERYONE, but often enuff that its noticeable. EG: MY DAD came to the USA from Mexico, in 1960. He came here impoverished. He refused welfare. So to get up, he had to struggle. To be willing to struggle, you have to aspire. Which welfare destroys aspiration. Temporary welfare is great. But when you make it more beneficial, to keep having bastard children, yeah that creates a bad cycle. So my dad started off in poverty, but built the American Dream, a comfortable middleclass life. Meantime, so many U.S. Citizens that grew up on GOVT assistance, never go on to do better.
